We chose to go with Love and Sons when we purchased our trees because we were told that if they…read moreplant the trees their selves the trees would be guaranteed for a year. First it took forever for them to actually plant the trees. One of the trees leaves started turning brown right away. We had to call multiple times to finally get someone out to the house to check on the tree. We did this twice before the trees went dormant for winter. The first time they came out we were told it was just shock from being planted. The second time we asked to have them meet us to discuss the issue. They came without calling. After calling back three times I was told by the same lady who always answers the phone that root stabilizer was put on the tree. We never got to meet anyone face to face. Now it's a year later. The tree only has one of its three trunks producing leaves. When I called, getting the same lady, she told me that the guarantee was only for 4 months. I told here that is not what we were told when we purchased the trees. Her response was "yeah everyone hears it that way". I told her that was what we were told by the salesman and that I wanted to meet with some at our house to discuss the issue. That was two weeks ago and we haven't heard anything. I called this morning, getting the same run around from the lady who answers the phone. I am very angry at the treatment we have received from a local company who has been in business in Amarillo over 40 years who we spent approximately $4000 with to purchase trees we were told would be guaranteed for a year. If 4 months guarantee is what we were actually told when we purchased the trees , I guarantee I would have we would have had the tree replaced when we had them come back out the second time in 2021. I do not want them to replace the tree now! I want the money I spent for that tree so I can go somewhere who will take care of us the way we deserve to be treated!!

This is not a trivial installation, as it requires welding, hydraulic and electrical skills; many local RV shops don't even offer this service. They kept us informed of the progress, completed it as scheduled, and did it for less than what a shop in Lubbock quoted us. We also appreciate that they are a Christian, family-owned business. I called June 2024 about renting e-bikes to ride in Palo Duro Canyon. Michael was very helpful &…read morefriendly! He said they didn't rent e-bikes. However, he said they did rent regular bikes for $49/24 hours. He offered to drop bike off & pick up for $20 to drop off & $20 to pick up. He recommended what kind of car to rent to be able to fit the bike inside (Corolla w/ wheels off) or better yet, a SUV. He went over the different trails in Palo Duro Canyon & the difficulty & shade of each trail. He pointed out that trails were closing at 11 am, due to the heat. He explained about mountain bikes. Michael went above & beyond to be helpful so my husband & I would enjoy our trip. We ended up driving & bringing our e-bikes. However, on future trips, we will feel very comfortable & taken care of renting a mountain bike from Palo Duro Canyon Outfitters.

It seemed like the inside was her realm while the husband told us that the rock gardens surrounding the business were all his. The selection is truly amazing and I found both cacti specimens that I had been searching for (and then some). This will be a stop for us whenever we are in these here parts again. I found succulents here that I've never seen anywhere, including at nurseries in southern California that I visit twice yearly. One in particular, Chinese dunce cap, I've been hunting for for two years during my travels and have finally found it here, in Amarillo, Texas of all places! I have had the opportunity to buy it online, but I prefer to buy in person from quality nurseries. They have helpful photos with descriptions and directions for care posted above most of the plants. As we walked through the succulent greenhouse Tracy walked along with us offering helpful advice and taking our picks to the counter so we didn't have to carry them around. Afterward we went to the outdoor/perennial area where we were met by Val and she graciously offered us a guided tour through their lovely rock/cactus garden pointing out plants that are hardy for our growing zone. We had a wonderful time and will definitely go back every time we visit Amarillo!

Even the landlord was present and eager to share how far the building has come. Housed in a historic building that used to be a bank, the bookstore retains charming elements like the original safe, adding a unique touch to the atmosphere. Jack and Annie, the cleverly named resident parakeets, provided a delightful soundtrack of chirps to the browsing experience. Unsurprisingly, the decor features owls in every nook and cranny, and each room has cozy chairs inviting you to settle in with a good read.
