My husband and I had a very poor experience closing on our home at this law firm.
Atty Marsh did NOT represent my husband and myself, but instead represented the seller in this instance. Therefore, I am not able to comment on her legal knowledge and skills.
However, our experience with her during this transaction made our supposedly joyous event extraordinarily sad and uncomfortable.
I am a person with a serious medical condition which has caused a physical disability. I have had many surgeries to correct these issues but my facial features will never look "completely normal". Upon photocopying my license, Atty Marsh commented that my "license picture looked like I got hit in the face with a sledgehammer". This was witnessed by our attorney, and our real estate agent as well.
My physical appearance is something I am self conscious about--but for one day, I was hoping that my appearance would not be relevant. And as a first time home buyer, as well as military spouse, I don't believe it should have been. Because of this woman's unkind, mocking words, what should have been one of the most joyful days of my life became one of the saddest.
When I think of the day my husband and I got the keys to our new home, I will think of how hard I worked throughout this process to refrain from crying over the degrading comment she made about my appearance. Instead of speaking to friends and family about our excitement for our new home, we spent the rest of the day feeling sad, hurt and shocked at this behavior from a professional in the local community. read more
