I have worked at UNM Hospital for several years and on a recent visit to their only contracted vendor, Scrubs Direct, had a very unfortunate experience. I have heard similar accounts of blatant rudeness, indifference, and an altogether lack of decency and consideration by the manager and others at that store. Moreover, poor selection, delayed ordering and unreliable store hours compound the already deplorable customer service. At Scrubs and Beyond I had the exact opposite experience. Upon walking in I was greeted by the store manager, Melissa, who proceeded to not only help me special order scrubs but took the time to help me select the exact style that I wanted. She also kindly offered assistance in finding an embroiderer for the UNM logo as I refuse to go to Scrubs Direct for this service. The manager has a sincere interest in serving our healthcare community and that is very much appreciated. It is truly unfortunate that UNM will not negotiate a contract with them that would provide healthy economic competition and perhaps motivate Scrubs Direct to revamp their idea of customer service and dedication to the needs of Albuquerque's healthcare workers. I for one will encourage encourage my coworkers and my department to consider giving their business to Scrubs and Beyond. Additionally, I will make a concerted effort to promote this business as often as possible even if it is just by word of mouth. Customer was just trying to find her order and was told "I don't know what to tell you it's not my fault or problem" and was dismissed because Briana was unwilling to help her or look for someone to help her. If it bothers you to work with a non English speaking person don't work in customer service.

I was always kept in the loop when it came to updating estimate costs, suggestions for our company logo design and they were very accommodating when it came to spitting up the invoice for people to pay for their ordered shirt individually. The quality of their screen prints is excellent, very vibrant colors and they hold up wonderfully when washed. All in all, I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Granted, pants are impossible to find in the most common size (34x30), so that's a pain in the neck, but there are tailors on-site who can make the clothes fit perfectly for you, often in just a matter of minutes. I can't speak for their selection of duty gear, since I usually just buy my kit online, but the clothing is where it really comes together. Pricing is typical of what you'd expect to pay for this stuff, so if you're looking to save a few bucks on 5.11 gear and things like that, Neve's is not the place to go, but if you need it now and need it bad, they will not let you down.

I don't spend this much money on regular clothes. BUT....the staff is very helpful and accommodating. They will help you find just what you're looking for and try to help you with deals. In April and August you can bring in your old scrubs and get a small discount on new scrubs. Join their preferred customer list and get a coupon for so much off and joining is free! Despite my dread and plain disdain for scrub shops this is the best one in the valley. They have all the top scrub brands in a variety of colors and sizes. Be prepared to spend $60 for a set though!

We prefer the Iguana Med. scrubs for quality. There are places to get less expensive scrubs, however I believe you get what you pay for, and in this case it's worth the extra $.
