Beautiful hotel. Restaurant located inside the hotel, and Irish pub. Salt City Market is right across the street with lots of international foods. Need old fashioned doors and wood work. My only complaint was that my AC unit didn't work. It's about 67 degrees outside but was 76 in my room. I had the unit on AUTO and tried ON, it was set 66 and just wouldn't come down. (Not that I need my room cooler than 70, but was just trying to get it to cool down at all)

Amazing! I've been here many times for events, weddings, etc. but this was my first time staying here. I absolutely loved it! Check in was very easy. Parking is a bit tricky here. They have 30 minute parking in front of the main door. The Marriott owns a nearby parking garage that isn't connected to the hotel. I wish it was connected to the hotel. It is two blocks away; the elevator was broken and the garage was dimly lit. Other than that, the staff here was very friendly and helpful. They were able to answer my questions and give me ideas of what to do in the area. There are two restaurants on the main floor of the hotel. One is a breakfast place; the other is a sports bar. Across the street, you can also find the Salt City Market, which has lots of shops, food options, coffee, a market and a bar. The rooms here were up to date, cozy and mostly quiet. I was here on a holiday weekend, so it was a bit busy and there were a lot of other people in the hotel. It is one of the best places to stay in CNY though. I will definitely be back! I highly recommend this place.

Attended a wedding here. The venue was beautiful and service was spectacular. Food and beverages were tasty too!

The front desk people were just ok, no really customer service. We had paid for a higher level room and my profile is set to be away from the elevators yet we were on floor 4 and right across from the elevator. The rooms are ok, a little on the small side. And they must think everyone is 6ft or taller. The toilet, the sink vanity, the mirror on the side and especially the shower head and shampoo/conditioner dispensers are for tall people. And why would you not have the shower open closer to the on/off handle to the shower?? It is a cool older building! Love the doors to the rooms, would be nice if they provided a little info about what ventilate room meant (just for historical references). The only real plus is the water gets warm quick and the water pressure is good. The sliding door to the bathroom would start to slide open a few minutes after you entered. The set up is a little wonky. They have the mini fridge, a big chair and a very heavy side table (which I would think would be used as a desk or place to eat since there is no other option for either in the room) right in front of the window, so it is hard to open/close the curtain. The housekeeping staff were all nice. The valet staff was amazing! They were very helpful and thoughtful when loading bags. Usually there is some form of complimentary coffee but not here- had to pay for lukewarm warm coffee then tip on top of that! There was a coffee maker in room but no coffee or coffee cups.

Its classic colonial style was nice. Everything was in great condition. They had real wood furniture. Not the flimsy fake wood furnishing. The place is classy and just very nice. The doors to the rooms look weird but it was very nice. The only problem was when you sit in the toilet the wall is 1 feet in front of you. And I kept banging my knees on the wood bed when I came from toilet to the bed.

    Nice hallways. Short bellhops.

If you're driving to Western New York to try and beat a once-in-a-generation storm, and you don't quiiiiiiiite beat it and need to stop, this is a good hotel to crash in for the night. I had asked my wife to find us a hotel that had a restaurant and a bar (the only things that mattered to me at the time), and was a little skeptical of her choice of the Marriott. I was so pleasantly shocked when we walked inside. This is not your average Marriott. This is the old Syracuse Hotel, and it's gorgeous. They've either kept or restored all the lovely details that they simply do not do anymore when they build. The lobby is massive, and perfect for two tiny girls (and one medium man) who have been cooped up in a car for six hours to run around in. The rooms are well-furnished with nice, Stickley furniture and brand new bathrooms. The Irish pub is attached so you can head over without going out in the weather, and we enjoyed our stay. Drawbacks: 1. Valet is pretty expensive, but only slightly less expensive than "self-park", which really makes valet a no brainer. But I'd rather park my own car, and don't really love getting charged a lot for the privilege. 2. You can't walk in and book a room. The lady at the front desk was unable to take my credit card and ID and get us a room. I had to go sit down 10 feet away, book online, and then come back. This seems silly.

I idid an overnight stay while my husband was at Crouse Hospital. My stay was pleasant. Workers we're helpful. Room was nice, but with complaints. Both shear curtains in the sitting area were ripped and there was a possible soup - food stain on the rug next to the desk. It was like someone cleaned it up, but never washed the area and the toilet paper mount was broken. I showed issues to housekeeping the next day before I checked out. I did expected better cleanliness for the amount of money I was charged for the room. I was disappointed that Marriotts name was attached. I expected much better from them. Room 709

Attended a fundraising event last night for a local canine adoption agency, 2nd Chance Adoptions. The event was in the ballroom, not sure how much renovation had to be done, (from the old Hotel Syracuse, especially being empty for many years) but it was beautiful. Every one of the employees I encountered, whether serving, bartending or cleaning were friendly and helpful and professional. There were 2 nice displays with crackers, cheese, veggies and nuts, etc. Dinner was a very good buffet of salad, two types of pasta with choice of red sauce or Alfredo, a chicken dish, and they carved roast beef and turkey. Everything I ate was prepared very nicely and seasoned well.

A magnificent building from 1922. Marriott restored the former Hotel Syracuse a number of years ago. This would be a flagship building if it could support the size. It looks fantastic but isn't top flight Marriott. Nothing horrible but have to track down a valet, 10 mins to checkout needing a printed receipt with 5 people milling behind counter. Some room carpet stains. BUT I still had a good stay and would go back. Staff is friendly undoubtably.

What a great hotel. I was worried at first because self parking seems a bit weird and sketchy, but once I got in the hotel, I was very amazed by the historic rooms. You have to explore the hotel, especially the ballroom on the top floor. The staff was friendly and didn't seem to mind us roaming around at night. The have a little history area one floor up from the lobby. The room was a little small, but comfortable. I will definitely be back next time I pass through Syracuse.

Very beautiful hotel and lobby that gives rich, sophisticated, old money vibes. You should expect nothing less from Upstate New York! The rooms were spacious and beautiful and the architecture of the door frames to the rooms was so unique and cool. The door is almost rounded, it's hard to describe but it was definitely beautiful. The location is right downtown, I got the opportunity to walk around a bit, it was beautiful! You're around a lot of businesses and establishments which is good if you have no vehicle. If you're in the area I would definitely consider staying here. I only deducted one star because the bathtub wasn't as clean as I would've liked. It wasn't disgustingly dirty, just some dust that I was able to clean out. Other than that, I loved the hotel and the room!

This hotel located in a building from 1924 is perfectly located in downtown Syracuse. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and historic sites including Clinton Square. It is also within 15 min drive from the airport. My room located on the 9th floor was newly remodeled, clean and cozy. Hotel offers valet parking at $18 / night with in/out option.

Gorgeous, restored, modern, wonderful!…read more We had the best experience at this hotel. We got a king suite with a separate kitchen and sitting area, as we were not leaving our room much due to surgery. The room was spotless, the bed was so comfortable and there were a lot of pillows. You could have parked a Buick in the bathroom! We ended up being done with our medical appointments two day early. They were unable To refund our room (which they were not obligated to do anyway) but willingly gave us one free nights stay voucher. How wonderful is that! So accommodating and nice. The two staff ladies at the desk were so kind to us. This hotel has a "wall of fame" where you can see a few of the stars who have stayed there. It's in the heart of a city circle area where there are some shops and restaurants to walk to. Again, we were only able to leave for a bit (for our sanity) but it's location was perfect for a walk. We will definitely be back!

We found one that only charged us ten bucks for the night. We were in town for a concert at the Landmark, which is literally across the street. After the concert ended, we were back in our hotel room in about five minutes. There are also tons of great bars and restaurants all within a few blocks. Our room was clean and spacious enough for two people, and the bathroom was roomy and clean.

Corporate: stop what you're doing and give these guys a matching 401(k), company car, and a giant gold medal with a holiday to commemorate. Think about that feeling when your grandma's making you soup and you stayed home from school. That was the vibe. We were stranded in Syracuse after a looooong vacay that ended in Covid for all of us, kids included,---and when I say "kids" I mean a 5 & 8 -year-old who "just wanted to go hoooooooome", a.k.a. 3k miles away, after 2 weeks with our in-laws--u do the math. Could've been a hell on earth uation where we were ripping each other's heads off, but these people straight up kept us happy, fed, and didn't treat us like lepers despite the fact that we looked like hot garbage. They even drove us to the local pharmacy to get meds for the kids more than once. Not sure what people think about Hampton, but i used to think: dinky/ kitschy. FAKE NEWS YA'LL. We got better service and care here than I've had at any other resort around the world. These people genuinely cared about us, listened after we got bumped off 2 Flights and treated us like family. I would've had dinner w them. It wasn't just 1-2 people. It was literally everyone who worked there. On top of this we got free breakfast that actually tasted good. Biz services were legit and the team helped by printing things out correctly for me better than FedEx Kinko's does when it didn't work for me and I was under a tight deadline. They even chatted with me when I was about to lose my mind about work stuff. Who does that? So if you're looking for a place for a therapist, a couple new cousins, good breakfast for free, endless coffee that taste good, and legit empathy w/ those giant fluffy comforters, skip the four season--come here. Sidenote, my son left his cell phone there and they called us before we even knew we forgot it + mailed it across the country free of cost. These people would be seated right next to us at our Thanksgiving dinner table if they weren't 3k miles away. Way to be y'all. You made a crappy situation into a warm, comfy hug of a stay when our kids were losing it and we were basically hallucinating elephants due to that awesome COVID fever. Special place in heaven-not just Yelp- for these people.

The staff here is very friendly and gracious and accommodating, especially Margaret. She ensured that breakfast was ready, and she kept the breakfast area, clean and neat and took the extra step of not only wiping off the tables, but wiped off the chairs. I really appreciated it. I ditched my Rent-A-Car because there's little or no parking and there's a lot of restaurants, shops and banks that are nearby - walkable. The appointments that I did have; I was able to take an Uber to. In the long run by not having the Rent-A-Car I saved money. Walking in downtown Syracuse is like walking in Manhattan or Brooklyn NY, without the crowds. You have to pay attention to your surroundings as there's a few sketchy people in the area. I see why they keep the front door secured. You need your key to get into the lobby. Since I was on the second floor, it is a bit noisy at night, but the room was very comfortable and I was happy that I was able to adjust my temperature to my preferred settings. The noise came from outside, not within the hotel. I wanted to clarify that. I was here for family business, but I spontaneously went to see Hamilton, which was fantastic and walking distance from the hotel at a discount rate.
