I have been coming all the way out to this location for many, many, MANY years; my parents' local…read morefolk dance group has a tradition of reserving the grounds, spending the weekend in the cabins and using the enormous, hollowed out barn for dancing. And there's a lot to talk about when it comes to this location, with its beautiful rolling hills and rustic facilities, which are growing more and more popular as people find out it exists and that they can rent it for various lengths of time. Here's my thoughts on the various aspects of this location and property: -The general location: This place is located in beautiful Pennsylvania countryside; absolutely a lovely place to spend a weekend! -The barn: The barn is probably the main reason the local folk dance group keeps coming on out; it's been "hollowed" so that there's no stalls or anything inside, providing lots of space for tables - which we set for dinner - as well as for dancing in a very large group. A fridge, sink and "bar" area are in the corner for people to use, too. -The cabins: The cabins - I believe there's around 50, maybe more of them on the grounds - are about as good as you can expect. They're wooden with linoleum floors - i.e. COLD. The showers aren't amazing but are functional, and the beds...not the most comfy thing ever, not going to lie. If you have a bad back, I'm sorry: the beds are not going to help it. If you have kids and you rent a cabin ask about the ones with bunk beds. -The lake: There's a beautiful lake here that is worth strolling alongside when the sun is out; in recent years management has even added a little plaza, presumably because more and more weddings are being booked here. It's a beautiful place to just sit and relax. -The playground: There is indeed a playground, although I remember it before the equipment was all replaced with plastic. I'm sure kids'll love it; I personally miss the old set-up, although I love that the basketball and volleyball court are still there. -The main building: Finally, there's a main building which I have not been in for a long time - the folk dance group just reserves the barn now - but I remember being a pretty cool place to hang out. There used to be a pool room and a swimming pool up there as well, but I don't know if they're still there. Definitely a nice place to look into for indoor/outdoor events, although since this is Pennsylvania countryside sometimes the weather just will not cooperate with your plans - it happens. The cabins aren't phenomenal but this place does have a nice rustic feel to it, so if you think that's what you want, check it out and book something quickly - it's amazing just how popular this spot in the middle of nowhere is becoming!

Our grandmother came to visit us from our home country, and she has difficulty digesting food. My mother-in-law wanted to take her for a walk, but it was very cold outside after a snowstorm. I simply wanted to bring her here so she could walk a little on the second floor. They were extremely rude when I explained that she had only been here for three days and that as soon as we received an email or documents, we would open the membership in her name. I said that later we would do the membership properly. They rudely demanded $50 just for entry. I explained that it was dark and cold outside and asked them to please let her walk a little just for today, but they were arrogant and rude right to my face. I would have understood if this had been explained respectfully and politely, but instead they behaved very rudely. This is a place that has been taking money out of my pocket for a year for nothing. That is why I canceled. I hope you understand that they do not care about your physical or mental health -- they only care about money.

Rather than write a long review and clutter the reviews with anymore long reviews (no knock, you guys are great) I'm just gonna get right to the point... This place? There is always trash everywhere, benches are broken, the playset is broken in so many places and the graffiti is horrendous! The water fountain has been broken for months, doesn't drain and is growing algae. The basketball court & football field are not kept up. The bleachers to the football field are falling apart, the score board is from 1973 and it's usually over grown. The fence is broken in so many areas, both at the basketball court & football field. The park is not at all monitored! People will be at the park at 10-11pm, not playing but doing other inappropriate things. While kids are running around, there will be adults and teens smoking both cogitated and other things. Multiple times there have been fights at this park with the cops called. This is just a horrible place to take your children, our tax dollar should go to good use to maintain and monitor this park, but it does not!
