AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Staff is rude and horrible!! Sam Marrazzo would be rolling in his grave! RIP I've been shopping at Marrazzo's on Parkway Ave in Ewing for years and used to have a positive experience. Unfortunately, that has completely changed under the new ownership and especially the STAFF. Sad how my review all stemmed from how employees handled me trying to redeem a lottery ticket I purchased after grocery shopping - they refused to redeem the ticket and have a history of doing this all the time.. NINE times at this point... even when purchased at their own store??!! Anything over $100 doesn't get redeemed. On (Sunday, 5/17/2026, around noon) I tried to cash a winning $200 ticket I had literally just bought from them, and they refused again. When I calmly asked about the NJ Lottery guidelines, staff told me management has "strict rules" against cashing higher tickets and claimed they never have enough cash (even in a busy supermarket with 5+ registers and constant traffic). Look -- I understand retailers aren't obligated to cash every ticket under $500/$600, but a full-service grocery store that happily sells lottery tickets (in two vending machines and a store front) should be able to redeem $200 ticket just purchased there. Once or twice is acceptable but every damn time?! But then... then interaction turned highly unprofessional. Three employees were involved: * A thin, long-haired African American woman about 5'3" -- she is usually the one behind the lottery section (often with a bandanna or dreads) and is typically the employee who tells customers they can't redeem any "high" tickets. In this case she refused my $200 winning ticket (for the 9th time) on Sunday and has done so many times before. Even after I calmly explained that a grocery store should have at least $200 in cash available somewhere, she still denied redeeming the ticket and became aggressive and ignorant making the next co-worker finish the conversation for her.. * An older (50-60) woman with grey/dark hair and glasses who was loud and confrontational (I believe her name was Veronica). She actually quit her job twice while trying to ring me up. I pressed her a little on the logic of their guidelines and she completely cracked, quit, came back, then quit again after I challenged her weak reasoning further. It's sad and pathetic that someone in her 60s is this unstable and unable to handle a simple grocery store job and allowed me to CONTROL HER FEELINGS!!! like is this your personal $200??!! Haha she then had the next sorry sap cover for her on her last "quit"... * A heavier short black man wearing glasses and a bandanna but SUPER diabetic.. To his defense, he had no idea what he was walking into. He came in hot-headed and aggressive as if ready for violence which is why I'm calling out his ignorance.. When I told him this was not an aggressive situation, no violence was going to happen, and that he has no idea what the situation was even about.. he still acted IGNORANTLY and stuck up for employees who were clearly in the wrong...ready for a fight which in full transparency, he's a liability to any employer. During the confrontation with one of the Black employees, they attempted to make the situation about race. That angle quickly fell apart when they saw that my wife (who is Black) and I (who am White) are together. They shut their mouths on that topic immediately.... SOOO FUNNY, huh? In short, they tried to kick me out of the store simply for asking them to cash a ticket I purchased there.... In what world?? They lied about not having $200 at the whole entire store and when I called them out on that BS, all simply crumbled into pure ignorance...with how things are running, I see why Marrazzo's needed that $200 much more than I do.. I used to give them the benefit of the doubt because Marrazzo's was actually my very first job ever when I was a teenager. I worked at the original location in Robbinsville as a bag boy, so I've always had a little extra leniency for them. But now it's too much. Since Sam passed away and the new owners took over, it is definitely not the same place. They still have the Marrazzo's name, but they have completely lost the concept of ethics, equality, and quite frankly, just logic and reasoning... They're quick to take your money selling tickets but won't honor the redemptions. This pattern discourages customers and feels like it's hurting regular players. If you play the NJ Lottery, I'd recommend going elsewhere for both purchases and redemptions. Very disappointed. Very ignorant workforce especially with how they handle confrontation. I only matched their aggression and they escalated further since they are truly a bunch of weak people... it shows because they're still working at grocery stores in their 50s.. This is about the "grocery surprise bag" ONLY.....we had tried the bakery bag and it was wonderful ....a good variety and fairly fresh food. We had no problem. Will try that one again Then the nightmare began..... we tried the "grocery surprise bag"which was a nightmare for $10. We got two jars of guardenare (pickled vegetables) and two so-called ready-made meals that they do when the meat's getting old. You may get a good one, but you can bet I won't be doing that again. Part of it is Toogoodtogo's fault, because they should break it down into categories for large stores like that .... In other words, produce -canned goods -dairy -pet-snacks....whatever they wanna do ....but, for some people, they get meat and they're not gonna eat it. It's wasted anyway ....And, I definitely don't want made over food that is still trying to look fresh but isn't. Especially from an extra nice neighborhood store. read more

So sad. I've lived in Ewing for over 30 years. It was the go-to market in the area beating out Shop Rote and Acme in price and service. Unfortunately, the service has remained, but in today's economy there are so many better choices to do my shopping. Even Shop Rite has eclipsed Marrazo in providing quality products at reasonable prices. Not to mention Lidl, where I now do most of my grocery shopping. How can Martazo justify their bakery prices that have escalated from $3.99 for 20 cookies to $8.99 for just 8! I hope that we as consumers boycott their overpricing that has occurred since the original owner passed. read more

Let me start with this. I shop there at least once a week. Love the bagel deal on Sunday and I love the rolls and baked goods. I never do a full shopping trip here, too expensive for most items, probably due to the small size. The owner is very nice and almost always there when I am shopping. However, I have purchased the Steakums when they are on sale and I have seen a trend. When they are on sale, it looks like they have been improperly frozen or stored, they are tan, not bright red, like fresh Steakums. See the attached. When I purchase them not on sale, they are bright red and fresh looking. I don't think this is a coincidence. Buyer beware. Clearly not the same, both were purchased at Marrazzo's, one week apart. Been shopping here for years because of proximity. On more than 3 occasions I've noticed that the advertised prices do not match the registered prices. This is more evident with the Caper Carts. The other day I mentioned this someone working there, who acknowledged the prices don't always match up. There wasn't time for me to talk to a manager. It's a family Super Market, really nice staff. I think an older gentleman I always see is one of the owners I've never asked but he's super kind always says good morning and how's you day going to everyone he comes across. They sell food they prepare and let me tell you yummmmmm and the prices are very reasonable so if you work in the Ewing,NJ area and want something new to try on your lunch break give Marazzos a try. I would advice calling them to ask when they put food out I believe it's at 11:00am. The ambiance is nice very homie small but nice. read more

When I don't feel like dealing with the craziness of Shop Rite, I get groceries from here. It's really never crowded, which leads to a much more enjoyable shopping experience. I do think the prices are slightly higher than the other stores in the area, but that could also be inflation -- who knows? Either way, I will pay for the luxury of grocery shopping not making me feel anxious or panicked. Will for sure keep coming here, especially during the holidays. Marrazzo's cannot go anywhere. Been shopping here ever since it opened. Friendliest staff. Always ready to help. Owner is present every time I go in, always smiling, and has even helped bag groceries. They bring in fresh produce from local farmers. They have products you can't find in other markets. Fennel sausage. Purina Beyond cat food (duck). My cats favorite. Fresh salad bar, fresh soups every day, hoagies, dinners, specialty cheeses, awesome bakery. Small area for eating in. Even a flower shop. Can't say one bad thing about Marrazzo's. And, it's located right across the street from the new Ewing Center that's being built. read more

Family run grocery that grew with the population and moved out of Trenton to this location in the burbs to keep up with their customers. A good idea before the hypermarkets began to dominate the landscape and put immense pressure on the little guys to match either price (impossible) or performance (customer service and specialty items). This it could do for a while, but ultimately it was not a long term solution. Today, it struggles along as a convenience stop for those in the area. The selection is limited, and the prices are higher than most of the competition. The family is older and the next generation has not picked up the baton. At least it is clean and the staff friendly for the most part. In time, it too will pass into history. read more

So this is my emergency go-to supermarket place mainly because it has a bad rep in the area of being super pricey....thankfully I have gotten very lucky. BUT every time I go in I get a good deal, a $5 rotisserie chicken, $1 Swiss miss hot chocolate, and best thing yet.....NEVER ANY LINES! The cashiers are always super friendly and basically every other Saturday they have a deal for a Free Philly Pretzel with your recipe! So no there are no ethnic items...unless you count Del Paso tacos and no ethnic person does....but you will get all your basic necessities and a few gourmet cheeses and soy products. But because it's so empty, much like a Miami night club without a line....it feels shady. read more

Marrazzo's is just a couple miles down the road from me, and it's my favorite store in the area. They have a huge selection, the produce and meat are always great quality, and they sell local eggs and other foods. The store is always clean and the staff is always helpful. They also have a lovely floral selection. It's marginally more expensive than a larger chain, but if you're local, the convenience and quality are well worth it. read more

Rudest Workers I've Ever Met! On Father's Day I went in to get a cake and sausage. The store was empty and all the cashiers were standing around on their cell phones, except for one lane that was open. I was told to go to Express, and when I did, the cashier walked over from the window ledge she was sitting on, put down her phone, never looked at me or said "Hello" and rang up my order. A woman came over wearing a sweater and stood at the end by the bags, but didn't offer to bag, so I didn't even know if she worked there or not. I packed the cake myself. The cashier started talking to HER about the weather and the rain, never said a word to me, or even acknowledged me and I left. I have NEVER experienced someone so RUDE in my life! UNTIL......my husband went there late at night, before closing and the woman at Customer Service was ringing up customers. At 9:00 exactly, even though my husband was right in front of her, with only a few groceries, she told him, "I'm closed" and wouldn't check out his things. I work at a supermarket as a cashier and I don't like it...but I still have to be friendly! What is wrong with these people? RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE? Are they crazy? Went in as I was driving by I need a few items. The store had been there forever so I thought why not. Not a lot to choose from, but I like to support small businesses. The hot bar looked good. However, when we went to eat it; The fried chicken was disgusting, thick no flavor; crust had no flavor and lots of fat; my kid wanted the baked sugar cookies; got home they entire batch from the bakery we bought was stale. I live in the area and have to travel way out of my way to Princeton for decent grocery shopping. Unfortunately Marrazzo's does not fit the bill, at least for me. Perhaps things have changed since the last time I was there, but there were absolutely no organic or natural offerings of anything. Just straight, conventional gmo and pesticide-laden food. I actually prefer this grocery store over ShopRite and Stop n Shop. Prices are reasonable, selection is pretty good, store is very clean. It's not nearly as crowded as other markets in the area and the lines are usually pretty short. One of the reasons I keep going back is the produce and meat--produce is fresh, clearly labeled, and we-organized. The meat is fresh and the cuts are great. Plus the butcher's prices are half of what I pay at the big markets. Even if you buy nothing else, the meat here is the best I've had in the area. read more

I come here periodically for lunch. They generally have a good soup selection. However this time I opted for the salad bar and boy was I glad that I did. I decided to get lettuce with tuna fish and a little bit of the chicken salad along with tomatoes and nuts. I just say that the food was very fresh and well worth the $6.00+ I paid for the salad. This is not the grocery store to do your shopping for the week because it's very over priced. That being said, on Sunday morning (try to get there before noon) they have fresh bagels 12 for $3.00. I go there religiously every week for them. This week I made out with blueberry, cinnamon raisin, whole wheat, and French toast bagels! They always have a great selection! read more

It is a locally operated store maybe not quite as good as Wegmans stock wise but it is amazing what they do have. They have decent sales and you don't need a card to get them. Anyway I think Mr. Marranos appreciates your business and is often around. The people who work there are helpful well dressed and polite. Ewww, so Tracy T. confirmed my fear about flies probably getting into & dying in the open salad dressing bottles at the salad bar. I still get salads, but waiting for the day I guess. Hoping it'll never come. I've been going here for years since starting a job in Ewing. It's about 2 minutes from me and makes for a quick lunch pickup. Their hot foods are great for the most part. I love the salmon. I also love the variety that they have for lunches. The sandwiches are kind of lame but I expect that. As a grocery store, their prices aren't great compared to other stores, but not bad for a family-run business. The manager or whatever she is with the short dark hair is always rude! I saw a little old lady struggling with the door of the freezer which cases cheesecakes and such and she just watched her. She proceeded to say that she'd have to wait A FEW MINUTES to open the door again because of the suction. That is such an exaggeration and if she told me that I'd let them keep their darn cheesecakes until they become freezer burnt. For a family-owned business, you would think that customer service would be at the heart of their mission but nope. I worked at a market that was family owned so I understand not wanting to kiss up to rude customers, but being a generally nice person is kind of a given for such a job. If you don't like what you do, open up that opportunity for someone who will enjoy the job. I'm sure there's lots. There's also the cashier with light brown hair and glasses who never ever says thank you and acts like you're bothering her as she's ringing you up. It's sad, but I tend to avoid her because she bothers me. The owner should really crack down on their employees' customer service skills and not subject the elderly who frequent this store to mean staff. They should also really think about putting spouts or lids on the salad dressings because they are gross. The bottles are plastic and yellow in color. I wouldn't be surprised if they never actually clean out the bottles and just top them off with dressing as they get low. Foul stuff. I give them 2 stars since I frequent this store pretty often for lunch and they do have some good options with lots of variety. There are some really rude people working here however, and it seems like there's some health code violations going on. Luckily, I have a tough immune system unlike the elderly. They do not offer much in terms of organic produce or packaged foods and they are generally a little more pricey than your typical grocery store. If I did not work nearby, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. Also, if there was a closer grocery store, it's highly likely that I'd choose to go there. Sadly, it looks like the end is drawing near for the mom-n-pop supermarket as a retail "species." This is a shame, because it's a joy to go to a place where the owner can usually be seen working the floor; he seems to make a point of acknowledging each and every customer. Try finding that at Wegmans. It's not the most modern supermarket, but it probably has everything you need, if lacking in some things you might want. For example, if you're into organic, you will find Marrazzo's wanting (it's getting better, but if you insist on 100% organic, you will be disappointed). Their "house brand" is White Rose, which IMHO is way inferior to house brands you will find at most other grocery chains. Produce can be a bit iffy at times, but overall, it's pretty reliable. Nice salad bar and prepared food in the deli section. I will gladly live with these few shortcomings to support Mom and Pop, and not have to drive 15 minutes each way to go to Wegmans and Whole Foods (and deal with the rude and obnoxious people who shop there). Tip: On Sundays, Bagels go for at $3/dozen. They're flown in from somewhere , but they are among the best you will ever get at a supermarket. And I repeat: $3 a dozen. Skip it if you're some kind of New York Bagel Snob, but I know what a good one tastes like, and these are more than worthy of buying by the dozen and freezing for later use. read more

This used to be a great store with premium meat and produce. Over the last few years the quality of the produce has gone down and their meat department has literally gone rotten. Over the past few months I purchased chicken there and had to return it because it was spoiled when I got it home. Yesterday was the last straw! I purchased some chicken breasts on sale Saturday night, the sell-by date was Monday or Tuesday. I opened the packasj Sunday morning and not only did it smell bad, but there was a dead fly shrink-wrapped in the package! I brought the chicken back tonight and spoke with Bill, the Assistant Manager. He told me that he had the same problem this weekend. Wow, how re-assuring. Stay away from the salad bar! While I was pouring the Italian dressing on my salad, a fly plopped out of the bottle. Maybe if they had lids on their dressing, the fly could have been prevented. Local grocery store. I come here when I am too lazy to make the trip to Shoprite, an extra 10 minutes out of my way. I usually only ever come here for fresh produce- it's never that fresh, but it's reasonably priced. Everything else needs to be on sale to come close to chain super market prices. Oh where do I begin, this store is absolutely LOVELY. The deli people sliced my meat perfectly thin, I cannot I reapeat cannot stand thick meat ugh. They sliced it so thin it was perfect and the bakery people had such great rolls, fresh and crusty. The cashiers were lil darlings and asked me how my day was, such a great experience. The produce is fresh every morning, since it arrives in the store around 7AM daily. Sam Marrazzo greets every customer, with a big smile and hello! The hot food table is always a welcome delight, especially near lunch time when your tummy yells to be feed until it is full and happy! Other supermarkets in the area, need to start taking some lessons from the store staff at Marrazzo's. Always greeting customers, with a bright smile and "Can I Help You? This place is incredible. I've been visiting this store for several years, and I've absolutely adored it. Yes, the prices might be a bit higher than if you were to go to a larger retail chain, but the quality more than makes up for that. The produce is always fresh, the deli meats are always cut EXACTLY how I like it (thin sliced, with my ham shaved/chipped), and the cashiers are great! Most notably of all is a young girl named Lisa. She brightens my day every time I go into the store, always greets me warmly and makes me feel like my business is appreciated. I will continue to shop here for years to come, and am grateful that there's still a beacon of small business hope in a world that's lacking good customer service values. read more
