I am a fan of Phil Marr. He is a real person with strong purpose. He helpd me in a major way at a time in my life when I was at my lowest. I did find Phil Marr's office a bit randomly. Just a search for local lawyers. But I liked his website and felt it did a good job of setting the tone for the kind of person I would be working with. I think this is a place where you get what you pay for. In all honesty, it was a little more than I anticipated cost-wise, but as I read other reviews here, they mention Phil was a good deal. Phil represented a close friend of mine in a horrible high-conflict child custody case. It was the hardest time in her life, and I have been thankful that Phil and his staff were in her corner. Phil deposed the father for two days and got this transcript showing how tied up the father became trying to support his false claims, like that he had paid over two years of child support. . . in cash. I searched far and wide for an attorney whom I felt I could trust... and that's a tall order. Thank God I found Phil. I was referred to him by a friend of someone in my network I didn't even know, so I was reluctant. I went on to yelp to check out what others had to say, but you never know whether the reviews here are solicited or plain fabricated. This was a couple of years ago and there were only a few reviews at that time, which I actually took as a good sign (I'm always skeptical when I see 50 reviews, especially when they all happen within a short time span.) Anyway. I was in the midst of a custody battle. My ex-wife had requested a modification to the orders so that she could move to the other side of the country with my daughter. In a panic, after a few days of research I retained my first attorney. To say I was very disappointed with him is to put it mildly. He required a $10,000 retainer, didn't return calls, billed me for voicemails, sent a critical email to the wrong address and on and on. But that wasn't the worst part. By following his poor counsel I had escalated the conflict with my ex-wife to the point that a court battle was imminent. Enter Phil Marr. I set up an initial consult with him during which he advised me how to craft a letter to my attorney at the time to ensure that I would recoup my retainer in a timely fashion. He spent more than the allotted time with me, very clearly detailed the terms under which he would work with me and how his pricing structure worked. By this point, I had interviewed 7 attorneys.
