After interviewing 8 pool builders - we finally decided to use Marquise to build our dream pool. Dave took his time on the design and ultimately convinced us to completely flip the pool layout - and we are SO glad we did! As soon as he sent us his design thoughts - it made complete sense and we were scratching our heads - "why didn't we think of this before?"! Every last detail was considered and he worked hard to stay within our budget. Dave and Greg were both so honest and easy to work with and they genuinely wanted and earned our trust and business. Greg oversaw the entire pool build - alongside his trusted long-time employees and trades. Every step of the build was planned, discussed with us, communicated to the trades and overseen by Marquise. I am a type-A, micro-manager who freely let go of the entire pool building process due to my complete trust in Marquise. They never nickel and dimed us through change orders - quite the opposite! Several times in the process they threw extra details in for free because they thought it would look better with it. Who does that any more?!? I am, admittedly, a tough customer to please. I would build with Marquise 100 times over if I had to do it again. It was an awesome experience!! 7 weeks after dig - we were swimming in our gorgeous new pool. I recommend them to everyone who asks. They are kind, honest, detail oriented, professionals - best in class!!! It looks as if there is a smear campaign against this reputable company based on one family's plants not surviving the January freeze. That's a shame - hardly anyone's did - it was a very rare, hard freeze. In addition, plants are subject to homeowner care. Were they covered properly? Were they watered and fertilized timely? Did they have proper soil and mulch and maintenance? Were bugs treated/prevented? Based on my flawless experience with this very honest and professional company, there is likely much more to the story. I was totally shocked to read the reviews of this company after having dealt with them first hand. My family had been contemplating building a pool over the past year. We started out interviewing different pool companies and checking out their work. Upon a recommendation from a good friend who built with Marquise, we met with them to see what they had to offer. First of all, meeting with Polly was a breath of fresh air. Having met with other companies and being promised the moon, we sat dow with Polly and she really listened to what we wanted. She was very insightful and direct. She would say "yeah, we can do that, but here is why you shouldn't", and would give us a better alternative. Her pool design and taking into consideration things we never thought of, like drainage, landscape possibilities, made working with her so easy. As soon as we got the initial design, we were sold even more. Soon after signing the contract, we met Greg Watson, the owner. He came out and walked the design with us and made suggestions and really listened to what we envisioned, working with us to make a couple of changes on the fly. Greg would genuinely be excited to share some ideas and thoughts with us to make the pool of our dreams. Our project manager, Marvin, was so awesome to work with. He is very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make the building process easy. Hands down, I would recommend this company, and have, to anyone in the market for a pool. I am a project manager / engineer and this has been the most successful project I have ever been involved with in a long time. The work was done timely, the workers clean and courteous, and the quality of the work was outstanding. This is due to how Chris and Greg run their business! Chris captured the essence of the landscape of our yard while taking into account the style and the color of brick and stone on our home with his unique custom pool design. He also built a custom pergola, modified our back porch, and tied in beautiful landscaping to make our yard feel like a touch of paradise. He did such a wonderful job on the construction of our pool, spa, and fire pit while accommodating numerous elevation changes due to the contours of our yard. Our experience with Marquise Pools has been outstanding. They built our first pool 10 years ago. At that time we had never had done a project like that before. They not only built it in a timely manner, but also handled the overall Project Management including coordination of several major contractors. The pool, pergola, and landscaping were all completed on time and within budget. After delivery of the pool, Marquise were very reliable in addressing any minor issues that came up. When we decided to build a pool at our new home, we considered several companies. After reviewing all the proposals, we decided to go ahead again with Marquise. We were not disappointed. Dave came up with the perfect design for us. Greg managed the construction, listening to our concerns and working with us to tweak the design. After the complete atrocity that I've seen from these people "Marquise Pools" and the lack of professionalism and care for doing a job right I would spend the rest of my life putting these assholes to shame on a daily basis!! What should have been a beyond extravagant visit for myself and family included was a complete catastrophe due to the incompetence and lack of what from my opinion looks like ZERO know how and more like CON ARTIST. Recently my fiance and myself had a few quotes drawn up to get a pool installed in our newly purchased home. Marquise pools by far is the most innovative helpful pool builders in Houston. Although what we thought we wanted and the ideas and spin offs they came up with was a little higher then our budget, it's worth it for equity purposes in the future. The ideas were things you would see in a home furnishing magazine for a good cost. Sad to say we have to delay on on getting the pool started until summer because the cost of the pool (they did quote one in our budget) we want the extras they helped us with. Chris and Greg of Marquise Pools built our pool in 2002. They did a wonderful job of designing and building the perfect pool for our new home in Spring. Chris also designed the landscaping. The project was handled perfectly and professionally. Since then we have had Marquise Pools come back to add a fire pit, spa and the most beautiful stone spillway. The following year we also had them build us an outdoor kitchen. People that step into out backyard think they are in Hawaii.
