Booked this restaurant for a family dinner celebrating a birthday. We must have got there early as we were the second group there. I thought the service initially was slow. We ordered our drinks which was served incorrectly. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she said that she would need to check with the person who took the order. I thought this was a little odd as surely you just take our word for it. It was only a soft drink error, not like she had to open a bottle of champagne or anything. It took a while for the bread to arrive which was flat bread. Some were a little too charred but nothing too dreadful. The scallops were cooked nicely and the steak ordered was cooked as requested. The portion sizes were good with none of us requiring dessert. As time went on the restaurant filled up which shows that it a popular place. I am always pleased with service when the waiting staff treat children as human beings which they did here. The restaurant is nice and bright and the waiting staff friendly.

I've been here a couple of times with my girlfriend and it has been fantastic on each occasion. On the first visit we went for the 3 course set meal and every course was amazing, especially the lobster main (their weekly special at the time). Everything was cooked perfectly, and the staff have always been very polite and attentive. The place itself is quite small (but not cramped) and it has a very nice rustic charm to it, quite dark inside but that just adds to the nice romantic atmosphere. Downstairs from the restaurant is a small wine bar that also has a very good cocktail list (most of which are potent and very tasty!) It's a perfect place to have a nice relaxing drink after your meal. Everything was reasonably priced (especially their set menus). Definitely a place I will be going to again and again.

Managed to get a late table which for this time of year was a huge positive, when we arrived the restaurant was packed, no surprise there, so they suggested we get a drink at the bar. Normally this would probably have been ok but not on NYE. If you have never been to the downstairs bar it is worth a visit, however it can get packed and as it is small getting to the bar becomes a bit of a problem, so we decided to wait upstairs where there was slightly more standing room!! We did not have to wait too long for our table and once it was wiped we were seated. Being NYE they had a set menu which had a decent selection. I was slightly disappointed as they did not have my choice of starter :( So I had to change that option but not the end of the world. For a packed restaurant surprisingly they only had two waiters, so this did slow down the service, but they did a good job considering. The food was good and the atmosphere was very good the noise from the live band downstairs was on occasion a little intrusive but I could live with it. Some people did a countdown to the new year but the restaurant staff did not as they were to busy. An enjoyable NYE meal in a restaurant I will visit again.

Over the recent years, this building that the restaurant is situated in has changed a few times and…read morenow the Aqua restaurant has come along and i've been wanting to eat there which finally happened recently, I have to say that the outside of the building is very smart and welcoming along too with the decor inside, I can't compare the decor inside to previous owners but in Aqua the decor is really modern and arty kind of laid back atmosphere as you can see in my pictures. I dined on Sunday and just missed the 5pm deadline for Sunday Roasts (literally by 3 mins) and the manager didn't make the effort to try and accommodate us, I think they should extend this to 6pm on a Sunday as people eat at various times of the day and like to eat later. saying this though the food was fantastic and dessert was really scrumptious too. The staff were also very pleasant the whole place seemed to have a busy but relaxed atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon, the locals really know where to get a nice roast!. So if you are ever in the Petts Wood area then I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant, I'm definitely going to eat there again. For dessert I had salted caramel cheesecake which was a soft type like a creamy mousse with a lovely salted caramel centre I was in heaven and my husband had the sticky date and toffee pudding which was one of the best I have tasted in quite a while. Only downside of first experience was that we initially went in for a roast but they stopped serving them at 5pm and we got into restaurant at 5.05pm. We noted this place that also had a sign for Conchitas Mexican Grill -- excited, I thought maybe the Apatura (whatever that was) had been replaced by a good Mexi joint. But we walked in to find a rather bland version of what qualifies for a "nice restaurant" (e.g., white linen tableclothes, leather arm chairs in the bar area, and an overall mid-90s sheen). The menu had mains that hovered in the £9-15 area, a bar menu and a lunch menu, which had a bit of a personality disorder. There was a Tex-Mex section, there were fish and chips on the menu, meze sharing platters, rib-eye steaks ... what the hell is going on here? Whatever, that's their thing, so we rolled with it. I got a Medi sharing platter and a small caesar salad. Husband got the steak and calamari. Both starters were excellent, though my salad had almost nothing about it that would qualify it for a traditional caesar, including the signature dressing. The calamari were fresh and crispy, nicely breaded not greasy or crumb-y. Then we waited .... and waited and waited for our mains to come out. We got refills. We put more money in the parking meter. Then we waited some more. Finally they emerged, my husband's steak got a thumbs up (should do for what it cost) and my platter was ok, though it seemed to be a variant of what was on the menu.
