I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Ms. Marlene! I am currently on military orders in the area and needed a last minute alteration on my military uniform for a pending graduation ceremony this Friday. After calling around to several alteration places around Gulfport, Long Beach, and Biloxi with no luck (would take days to get my blouse back) - Ms. Marlene was able to get me in right away! Not only was she able to stitch my warfare pin on my blouse same day, but I was able to retrieve it within the hour. 5/5 stars! Thank you so much! read more

Marlene's is hands-down the best! She's a total pro who works tirelessly, and she's the only person I trust with my expensive suits. Perfection every time. Highly recommend! read more

Absolutely appalling treatment from male individual over the phone. He hung up on me when I asked for ballpark dollar amount for simple alterations to pair of custom pajamas. He insisted I must come in and when I asked for ballpark amount he hung up on me. Nice customer service. You lost my business. read more

My wedding was disrupted significantly due to the fact that my wedding dress did not have the bustle sewn on that I had paid her to do. I paid $220 for a hem & for a bustle to be installed, however, I put my dress on on my wedding day to find that there was no bustle installed, rather safety pins where she meant to place the bustle hooks. When I called to speak with her about it, she told me that it was my fault for not trying on the dress when I picked it up, rather than taking responsibility for her fault & apologizing. I told her I wanted a refund for the job, however, when my grandma went in to collect the refund, she was told that she would not be refunding us. Completely unprofessional & disappointing. read more

Excellent seamstress! Always friendly, helpful and always does a fantastic job on anything I bring to her. I won't ever go anywhere else!

Marlene is AMAZING. She altered my wedding dress- taking it in several sizes and hemming it. It turned out gorgeous and I now use her exclusively for all of our alterations. She has hemmed a lines bridesmaid dress for me since and even same-day hemmed a pair of my husband's swim trunks to make them the length he prefers. Marlene is so sweet and her work is EXCELLENT. If you need major alterations (or minor) like a wedding dress or suit definitely go to her because you will not be disappointed!! read more

She did a wonderful job on my granddaughters dress 2 years ago and now she's fixing to alter my oldest daughter's wedding dress

My mother took her clothes to Marlene both times she was Queen in Diamondhead. I have been going to Marlene for 15 years. She makes my husband and I look like Royalty Sometimes you have to wait for your clothes because she is so busy. Believe me; it's worth the wait. She has magic fingers. Being relatively new to the area it took some time to find someone for tailoring and alterations. I wasn't interested in some jack of all trades operation with one sewing machine set up in the back of a dry cleaners. It took a while but it was worth the wait. Marlene is an absolute joy to deal with, very professional, very reasonable. Apparently she's been here for 20 years. read more

After hearing all of the stories and even having some so-so, decent, and altogether bad experiences from other tailors in the area myself when it comes to uniforms, I found Marlene's. Her and her team, even though backlogged from all of the other work she gets from the community especially with formal wear, does not rush on items and produces quality work. I am tall and skinny which means that I have to purchase tall and big clothes to get fitted on the back end. Marlene was able to properly fit me and alter my clothes to have the same stitch work and overall appearance as before. I was not able to find any odd cuts nor other glaring issues with any of my uniforms that I brought in to her to be fitted. I went to her around the time of a high school prom so I did have to wait a little bit longer than at most other places, but it was definitely worth the wait in the end. My uniforms fit me perfectly. She has good customer service, and was able to tell me an accurate time frame upfront for how long it would take to tailor my items. She was able to field a few calls from me while I was waiting, and then in the end even beat her timeline she had originally set when I had originally dropped off my items. If I was still in the area I would be going back to her 100% of the time. read more

I took my formal dress to Marlene Alteration & Tailor and I was very pleased with the work. She was very careful about measuring the length initially, then when I received the gown back the hems were very well done. I will definitely go back to her for my alterations. read more

They do a great job. I bring all of my shirts and pants for alteration here. They also do (not a spokesman so must be verified) the work for Dillard's from Edgewater Mall, so you know they know what they are doing. I also have seen several wedding dresses in there so that is just one more thing that they can alter for you! Definitely recommend. Would have given 5 stars but sometimes they run a little behind schedule. Make sure you call before you go pick up your clothes. But, they do a perfect job every time and I recommend them to everybody who needs any type of alterations. read more

My sister got her prom dress altered here and when my mom went to pick it up the day they had agreed on it was not ready. This was inconvenient but she ended up finishing it that day and it turned out nice. Thinking the reason it was not ready on time was because of the amount of dresses there are during prom season I decided to use her myself for my bridesmaid dress. It was a simple maxi dress that was just too long for me and I needed it hemmed. We agreed on a day for me to pick it up roughly 3 weeks later (more than enough time to hem a dress.) I was out of town so I was 2 days late picking it up and when I went in to get my dress that I had already paid $30 for, the dress was not ready. She told me to come back at 3pm and I agreed even though it was inconvenient because I was trying to get ready to leave for the wedding several states away and was busy. When I picked up the dress later that day I didn't have time to retry it on to make sure it was right shame on me I guess. When I pulled the dress out of the bag the day of the wedding I was furious. The dress was too short and she didn't hem it she just cut the bottom so it didn't look very good. I would not recommend her to anyone. I gave her 3 stars because though it was a day late my sisters prom dress came out nice. read more
