I was warmly greeted by Kathleen who promptly took on the task of finding me a new blue suit to replace my pre-pandemic suit that no longer fits me. She eyeballed me for size and was off to the races. I still don't know how she managed to be so accurate, but she managed to nail it on the first try. She showed me two suits to start and as I looked in the mirror after putting on the jackets for each suit, she was keeping watch of me while searching for other appropriate options based on my thoughts as I broke down what I liked about them. I was then escorted to the fitting rooms to also try on the pants. I was also provided with a shirt so that I could get a better sense of how it all came together. Amazingly, it was one of those first two that she had me try that I ultimately selected. It might have been the easiest suit purchase of my life. To put this in perspective, I have had full bespoke suits made for me locally and in Hong Kong. I've also bought off the rack suits from Dunn's (recommended) and Red Baker (recommended) and fake bespoke suits from Indochino (not recommended). My experience with Kathleen and Harry Rosen was only exceeded by my bespoke suit experiences. So there you have it. If you're looking for a new suit, head on over to this Outlet location for Harry Rosen. The prices are great and the service is top notch!

Fifteen minutes, a few hundred calories, and a quick Yelp search later, I found myself standing inside of their beautiful Gastown store. First, it's hard not to be smitten by the space itself. Wood, brick, and steel seem to be Gastown staples, and this space blends the materials beautifully. At the same time though, cascading wall plants and some strategically placed trees make the space feel cozy. Factor in the ridiculously comfortable sofa near the dressing rooms, and you just might find yourself inquiring about a sublet. As for the main event, the clothing, the styles are mostly classic (with some welcome twists), the fabrics look and feel expensive, and the cuts are on the slimmer side. You can find everything from t-shirts and chinos to formal suits and sneakers (and pretty much everything in between). And the best part - the prices are actually reasonable. I have to give much deserved kudos to the wonderful staff, who made my shopping experience enjoyable from start to finish. Their patience and assistance while I seemingly tried on everything in the store was greatly appreciated. One final tidbit, make sure to enroll in their rewards program, which gives you back 4% of your in-store purchase for next-time. The credit never expires, and is stored electronically in their computer system for your convenience.

It wasn't all that bad, but I just got a negative vibe from the staff almost as if they were lifeless and annoyed. Essentially, Frank and Oak staff in this store really need to smile and greet customers as if they like being there. No attitudes despite on shitty the day is going. The atmosphere in the place felt very snotty which does not make a good shopping experience. The gentleman working was happy to give feedback and picked out some nice pieces while speaking about the quality of items they bring in. Most of the items are either made local or sweatshop free in the USA. This is the kind of quality I want to spend money on and is generally a deciding factor when I make any purchase. I also wanted to speak about the simplicity of the decor and layout of the shop. Great merchandising as it really draws the eye in. They also sell some quality accessories including footwear, bags, ties and sunglasses. We will certainly be back when we visit the island again.
