Historic, a Bay Area staple and favorite! You can't beat Mark's, dare I even say they put Casper's to shame ha ha! My family would disown me on the spot for admitting that! One of a few places in town where they actually still offer carhop service! The customer service is above and beyond always -- throughout the years, I've never encountered a bad visit or bad customer service at Mark's! I pride myself and being a connoisseur of hotdog lol and Mark's are some of the highest quality hot dogs! Simple ingredients, but perfection every time!

I grew up in Oakland maybe 3 blocks from a Casper's. I live in San Jose now for 22 years and have always driven to Castro Valley or San Leandro to enjoy a Casper/ Kasper hot dog. I am totally thrilled that I found Marks where the serve Casper hotdogs !!!!! Drive in, place an order with Courtney and wait for it in your car. Large parking lot with shade and the Orange Ball gives it a retro feeling. Will be back !

We come here for nostalgia and for delicious, old fashioned hot dogs. My favorite is the sauerkraut dog and chili cheese dog. Generous toppings and I get full from eating just one. Friendliest service in the East Side of San Jose. I feel like this is a place that IYKYK, if you're not from ESSJ you're most likely not going to appreciate it. My bf said everything was mid to him. He said the flavor was lacking and the chili cheese on the fries was not even cheesey. This place is a win for me and takes me back to my childhood of simpler times and classic hot dogs. It's not fancy but it's comforting. I love the drive inn nostalgia, with the orange building and outdoor seating area, it's quite picturesque!

The chili cheese fries are soft and crispy with big pieces of beef. The root beer floats are nostalgic. The hot dogs are super good too. I love the chili dogs. They know how to make everything right. They are super friendly and helpful. It's always clean and nostalgic going there. I always end up, leaving full and with extra food for later.

It's one of the most genuine things leftover from old SJ. The hot dogs, they serve here are some beefy dogs and have a great snap to it. It has that classic American flavor that is rarely seen. However; I ordered a chille dog with no cheese and got cheese. It's okay. Service here is really friendly and nice, they take care of you here and feels like it's a welcome feeling each time. Parking is a bit small, and the music came straight of 00's. It's a clean area, it's a quick grab and go place. It a bit weird you order, wait, pay and then get food. But, it's not the first time. I would recommend this place. If your getting of the highway to/from east side SJ, this place is what you need if you want a glizzy.

This place has been serving up hot dogs for nearly 100 years, and you can taste the tradition in every bite. Classic, old-style hot dogs done right, with crispy fries and creamy shakes that take you back in time. The staff is super friendly, adding to the charm of this timeless spot. A true gem that keeps the nostalgia--and the flavor--alive. The cool thing is, you don't even need to get out of the car to order, be served, and eat. Total retro convenience!

Best hot dogs ever! Fries were delicious! Great ambience and service was excellent! I've been a customer of Marks for over 40 years and will continue to come back!

Great place for lunch, awesome service and everyone really enjoyed the milk shakes. The root beer flavor was delicious.

A pretty good hot dog. It's big and they do not skimp on the toppings but I can't justify the price for it it's like stadium pricing.

The ambiance inside was nice. A lot of fun decor and even a cutout to take funny pictures. They even have a tv playing music videos with modern music. Cool vibe! You can order via the kiosk with your card or at the counter whichever you prefer. We all ordered individually from m the kiosk and had no issues. Since there were seven of us who ordered, some orders arrived later than others. I can understand this since they're alls full filling online and delivery orders. I ordered the Texas forever hotdog since I love bbq and made it a combo with regular fries and soda. They get bonus points for serving Coke products, especially Coke Zero. My friends ordered hot dogs , corn dogs and the truffle and bulgogi fries. The stand out hotdog for them was the truffle dog! I recommend their business!

Every few blocks on this stretch of Alum Rock Avenue has a similar setup: A truck/food stand for mainly to-go orders with very limited seatings. Damian's is located inside a plaza on Alum Rock and should be easy to spot. There's a cart stocked with cilantros, onions, limes, salsas, jalapeños, and grilled onions that you can add onto your tacos, as well as ketchup and mustard for your hot dogs. Their tacos are $2.50 each with the exception of Lengua which is $3. They also offer bacon wrapped hot dogs for $4. We tried.. Pastor - This one was okay. Not bad but nothing special. Chuleta - I've never heard of this until now, but it's smoked pork chops. It tasted like bacon and was surprisingly good. Would recommend. Tripa - I didn't have any, but the boyfriend said it's the best tripa tacos he's had. Most places don't offer tripa, and the places that do offer it cook it a little too crispy. He said this one was the perfect balance of chewy and crispy. Would recommend. Cabeza - This is my favorite taco meat and they did not disappoint. Soft, juicy, tender. Would recommend. Lengua - Their lengua obviously has been braised for a long time. Most lengua is a little chewy but this one melts in your mouth. Unfortunately we prefer our lengua with a slight chew but this was still good depending on your preference. So tldr: Would recommend the cabeza and tripa tacos, and give the chuleta tacos a try if you like bacon. They're cash only so be sure to bring cash.
