It is a department store that has retained a little bit of tradition. You shouldn't have any problem finding it as it is in the town centre. They have a 'genuine' sale on at the minute, declaring that you could save 70% - it all sounds very good! I am not the best when it comes to sales and tend to have a brief filter through the sale items and then get totally put off and then swiftly move onto the full priced stuff! I am just no good. As you would expect the fashion is a bit out there, but the quality is wonderful especially if your shopping for a night out or an occasion, Wedding, party, job interview. I'd seen one on the Lakeland website but didn't fancy waiting for one in the post or having to deal with the manic number of people shopping at Liverpool One. So I looked around for something a little more local and more immediately available. I found a product on The Range website that would do the trick, a BBQ Grill Soaker, exactly like the product from Lakeland just a little bigger. Ideal. Or so I thought, this is when the fun began. The number for the St. Helens store is on the The Range website so I rang them. It rang and rang and rang, for ages, no answer. Tried again a few minutes later, same thing. And again a bit later. I was losing the will to live when someone eventually answered the phone, I said "Hello" and they promptly hung up on me! Ggggrrrrrr. I tweeted head office who advised that there were 5 of the item I was looking for in stock at this store but that I should ring first to check, despite me advising them of the above. A catch 22 really. This all happened the other day, but today I thought, sod it, I'll go to the store, I've been told they have them in stock, I don't mind waiting a bit, xmas shoppers and what have you, If I get what I need. Oh dear, I think I needed my head checking! After hunting around the store for 10 minutes or so I gave-up and spoke to a lady on the Customer Services desk, who told me that they don't have any in stock (without checking the computer for stock figures - apparently the "stock analyser" system is wrong anyway), and nobody would go and see if they could find one of these five items in stock for me. I left disappointed. Yep sure the store was a little busy, and maybe that's why they couldn't be bothered to help. But isn't that the point. Shops like this need people in them, shopping and buying, to stay in Business, if nobody was shopping and they had all day to help me, they'd be out of Business. The Range is seriously behind the curve when it comes to the whole shopping experience and the "service" shown to me by the staff of St Helens store was seriously lacking. Last time I ever give them my hard earned cash.

They stock all the usual Tesco goods plus clothes, toys, household items, white goods, in fact, almost everything could want to buy on a normal afternoon shopping trip. The checkouts are efficient and the supervisors are often on hand to guide you to the least busy till. All of the staff have, in my experience, shown themselves interested in doing their jobs with as much cheerfulness as they can.

The things I like best about this particular store is that its not too large in size; Ive been to some branches of Tesco and they seem to be too big. The walk from toilet rolls to beans seems to be miles long! I get lost in them! But theres no danger of that in this Tesco because its just the right size! Theres a nice cafe and the toilets are always clean and looked after which is an added bonus. I think others would agree with me because I find its always so busy!!

Car Parking isn't free, but being in Wigan town centre there is easy public transport access if coming here via train from Wigan Wallgate, or Wigan North Western, and buses also serve nearby. It's modern and clean and I like how they have a statue dedicated to George Formby, a comedian and singer, known for his ukelele, who was born in Wigan. 3* - Not too bad for a small town, but not worth a trip out for.

There is a lot of things to choose from and so many sizes. Sometimes the cost of everything is sometimes expensive and sometimes cheap. So if your willing to get free samples and spend a bit of money then come down to cosco!

It…read moreis Warrington's main shopping center alongside Cockhedge, which is mainly there just to house an Asda store. As you can tell by its name, Golden Square is basically a large, indoor "Square" of shops, with 135 shops in total according to their website, all over one floor. I dislike the approach of it all being over one floor, being used to seeing shopping centers on multiple floors, which also allows room for more shops, but Warrington's Golden Square also has a few stores in an outside square to it, which is also quite nice including Rhode Island Coffee and a Post Office, which is a nice area. The Shopping Center as I said is quite nice, both inside and out with a good range of shops, including WHSmtih, EE, Starbucks CEX, JD, 3, Waterstones and Vision Express, just to name a few. Due to the shape of the mall, it is quite easy to navigate around. This mall is quite nice for a small town and although it isn't somewhere I'd recommenced you constantly go out of your way to go here, it is well worth a look in if you are in the area as it is a nice shopping center, with a good range of shops and is great for a small town like Warrington, hence a solid 3 star rating.

I went recently a few days before Christmas and it wasn't too busy - nothing like shopping centres like Arndale Centre or Trafford Centre (actually never normally go to Trafford Centre but especially near Christmas but I think I can safely say its crazy busy!) Didn't stay too long but went to Boots and also went to Debenhams for some food - which was actually pretty good. There is multi storey car parking but unfortunately it is not free. For under an hour, its £1. It goes up to £5.50 if you are more than 4 hours. Between 2-4 hours is £2.20 which is not too bad I guess.
