However occasionally they have special offers unavailable elsewhere, for example 10 Birds Eye waffles for £1 which generally retail for £1.50. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic the majority of supermarkets had very long lines, the longest wait here was 10 minutes.

I also never found the supermarket particuarly clean and tidy it wasn't by far one of Sainsbury's best outlets I have been to a very nice one in Woking and the difference is massive. Although... As of November 2008 they are extending and refurbishing which is long overdue. I have yet to go but if it is good I just might start shopping in Sainsburys instead. Watch this space

For me it's useful because it has an in-store cafe. This is a proper cafe, selling meals and hot drinks, whereas my home Tesco at Harrow now has a coffee shop franchise inside. In addition it's open 24 hours and has a petrol forecourt, as well as a pharmacy, fish counter, meat counter, clothing and photo processing. I would love to have the time to spend inside this store but I'm always rushing to or from the centre where I teach. Also useful to note that they have cashtills.

M&S Foods also has a bunch of other standards like grab and go sandwiches, drinks, chips/crisps, and other candies. Nothing to write home about, except for the Percy gummies. Percy Pigs are a current phenomenon in the candy world, so if you're wanting to try them but only have a layover in Heathrow and not going into London proper, definitely stop by this M&S to get your Percy fix!

I love the spices and the spicemixes but also the fruits (I spotted fresh Jackfruit) and vegetables (of course very fresh, good and dirt cheap chillies), the Himalaya herbal toothpaste :-) , the weird drinks, the ghee, the huge bags of rice and the enormous collection of incense (again really cheap). The food and even non-food will easily make you spend an hour(s) walking around looking at all the different things they sell and make you remember the great food of India/Asia.

So if you are shopping staff are under such pressure to stack shelves quickly that they will continue pushing their cages with fresh stock into customers rather than wait a few seconds to let someone pass. Also on several occasions I have found out of date products, if you alert staff to it you always get the same response, leave it there we'll deal with it later. I don't know how many claims they've had to deal with for customer injuries or illness. Have observed that when customers raise issues with staff about products not up to quality staff look scared rather than empowered to do the right thing. Timidly they call management over who never seem to deal with the issue, it's always the customers fault somehow, do visit the store and you will see for yourself.
