One of the better innovations in railway station catering in recent years has been the advent of installing small branches of supermarkets. These generally provide a better source of sustenance for the journey than many of the expensive (and frequently tacky) food concessions, coffee bars and snack points.
Although it is at the pricier end of the range, I like this M&S Simply Food - it's a bit more spacious than some in-station branches, it has pole position - right by the ticket barrier - and I am a sucker for their avocado salad sandwiches and chocolate flapjacks.
