Marks and Spencer relocated their main store in Birmingham into the Bullring at the end of 2023, they now occupy the two-floor unit previously occupied by Debenhams, while the store is certainly better in terms of overall appearance, as it looks fresh and modern, and I much prefer the location being under the same roof as Bullring and Grand Central, overall I was a little let down by this store compared to the other new openings from Marks and Spencer.
There aren't toilets which surprised me, as is uncommon in such a large M&S, but if you head to the entrance on the ground floor of the mall, and turn left, you can find toilets there.
The store also lacks a Cafe and the home department is non-existent.
The Food Hall was the best part of the store, as with any Marks and Spencer, the stock again was fine but again felt like a half-assed attempt compared to their other new locations such as at Leeds White Rose and Manchester Trafford Centre.
The staff in the store were friendly, I did originally ask a staff member regarding the toilets, and they apologised and directed me to the toilets outside of the store, inside the shopping centre.
3* - I always felt the old High Street location could have done with a refurbishment so I was excited when I found out they had relocated. I'm not sure if this store is actually better than the one it was put in to replace though. read more
