After walking in a complete downpour to the subway which closed early at 11 PM, I found an honorable taxi driver that stopped in the driving rain who said he would take me for $80. He found the quickest route possible and I was able to get in my hotel room and DRY OFF in no time! He also was a very SAFE and cautious driver driving in bad weather conditions but leaving enough car lengths to the vehicles in front of him. Drivers give a scenic tour of Toronto in order to run up the meter, and if you get one that manages to avoid ongoing red lights - they slow down in order to get them - good for you. These cab owners rent their cabs out to others, not legal, the owner of the cab, whose name should be displayed, is supposed to be the one driving. These cabs are going 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Shocks absorbers are gone. They are the worst cab company in any country we have ever lived in.
