You've got to be kidding. Searching for rubbish bags. Asked at least 7 associates. Some team members simply looked at me when I said "Could you please tell me where I can find rubbish bags" or they just said "no" and turned their back to me. Others gave me the row number they thought they were on but were wrong, some didn't speak English at all so they had no idea what I was saying. The woman who finally gave me the correct answer just shouted out the aisle number and walked away. Zero customer service skills. Seabrook Market Basket would do well to provide some training to their staff. It was completely ridiculous. read more

I have been a resident in the Seabrook NH area for most of my life. I have always been a big fan of Market Basket. Let's be real, there prices are the lowest around & they have some of the best quality products, in my opinion. I have never had any issues at the Seabrook location at all. Until recently, when one day I walked into the store & all of the employees were different people from my previous years of patronizing this location. I have no issue with people of different ethnicities & believe that America is one of the best countries in the world due to our diversity....but when not one person working at this location can speak English I have a hard time understanding or communicating with any workers there anymore. They have been very rude in ignoring my addressing them, whether it just be to say hello or ask a question. I have been ignored & stared at & have had to try to get a question answered by hand gestures & basically playing a game of charades to try to communicate. They speak their own language around everyone & I know I do not know what they are speaking about. They do not count back change & seem very confused by any inquiry whatsoever. Even some of the announcements over the loudspeaker are in another language. I am sorry, but last time I looked this is still America & if you are working with the public, in America, you should be able to communicate to Americans. It has left me with many first bad experiences at this location. From what I hear, this is not the only location with this problem. New Bedford, for instance has had legal issues due to the exact thing I am writing about. Maybe it would help if Market Basket put interpreters in all their locations to help with this communication breakdown. read more

re:take out I have tried the Japanese nori rolls .vegetable roll, cucumber. Roll ,California roll etc I don't know if it's the wasabi or whatever I keep hoping when I buy it that I'm going to enjoy it so far I haven't and I won't buy it again I learned something ain't right with that roll . and what is with the fried shrimp? we love the friendly staff that are in the checkout lines and the no-frills atmosphere of Market Basket in Seabrook, New Hampshire. My only complaint, is every time we get home and review the receipt we find an overcharge or an error. I have no hesitation about returning to the store with my receopt for my refund. my suggestion is whenever you do grocery shopping no matter where, always check your receipts. This happens to us almost every time we do our grocery shopping. And we do this every week. Spending close to $200 on food. read more

Nice store, great selection & prices, but is it worth the Madness of the Crowds? It's often a Madhouse even on weekdays. Last time I went, it was worse than usual. Like shoppers were preparing for an Apocalypse. Super long check-out lines. It took me 40 MINUTES to get through the line--a woman ahead of me had apparently decided to buy everything in the store. When 40 minutes later she was finally getting out, her cart was piled 3 ft. above the top of the cart. Then she yucked it up with the store employees for 2-3 minutes..... read more

My friend and I were in the area earlier tonight and we stopped by here to grab some groceries to bring back to Boston. This store is good sized. And it is always clean and products are displayed attractively. The shelves here always have a lot on them and every shelf in here is always faced neatly. There are always plenty of employees around to help you if you are having trouble finding anything. They are always real nice. They have excellent produce here and I always love the sweets that I find in the bakery area as well. They have a separate register area in the store for cigarette sales. They always have all the brands well stocked. There is also a beauty aisle that I am very drawn to. I mostly buy hair products and believe it or not I did buy some Wet n' Wild cosmetics (I am a Lancome girl all the way but once in a while I do buy Wet n' Wild if I see something I really like) once and I also got some Sally Hansen products for my nails. Funny though, I didn't go to that aisle tonight--probably because I knew that the second I left the store I was going to look at the beauty products a couple of doors down at another store in the strip mall that this market is in. Getting back on subject, this store is a great one. They carry just about anything you could possibly need. Their cashiers seem very well-trained and can handle just about anything. I notice how fast the lines move here too and how quick and smooth my transactions there always go. Management in this store always seem alert and I always see them walking around helping customers and employees as well. I will be back here definitely. read more

A little mold won't hurt me, lol. I keep repeating those words to myself. Took a trip up north to pick up a few things and when I was in MB I needed to fulfill my sweet tooth. I'm in the bakery and skimmed over the end of night reduced rack. I love their banana bread but refuse to pay that kind of price for it. Anyway, I happened to see cream cheese vanilla bean sliced loaf. Looked good and at $2.99 even better! On my way back to Mass I grab the container and had 2 slices. It definitely didn't taste like vanilla bean. But I had never had it before. As I'm putting things away, I grab the loaf container that has now flipped over in the bag, and went wtf! Mold all over the bottom of it. Granted I didn't see it when I put it in my cart (or mouth) so I'm assuming whomever put it on the rack didn't either. And I knew it was reduced,expired. BUT, no way has it been sitting there for 8 whole days! Obviously after the fact I looked at the expiration date. Expired 1/10. It's now the 18th. The $2.99 was put right near the price tag with the date. It should never have been put out. To go to the reduced rack, you must look at the date. Since they don't, I will forever check now and buyers, I suggest you do the same! I have no intention of calling corporate and all that stuff. I just needed to share. Lol read more

First I would like to say that Market Basket is doing a good job with covid 19 precautions with one glaring terrifying exception. They have one employee that only wears a face shield no mask!!! She works the register and or bagging where she is incredibly close to the customer. I feel that Market Basket is acting in a reckless and capricious manner that effects my and other customers safety. Why is that employee allowed to go maskless? And if there is some medical reason why is she allowed to be so close to customers? If i find a place I don't end up liking, I don't give it a review unless they really upset me. This place has the same products and prices as other m.b. stores. But the front end service is the SLOWEST ive ever seen in new england. It reminded me of being in a grocery store down south, they were that slow, which made the lines long. I don't like MB as a general rule but this one is horrible. Every time I buy milk from here it is spoiled. The store is always dirty, and the employees are rude. The produce is horrible, either over time or not anywhere near ripe. I've gotten sick 3 times from food I bought here. Now I go to walmart if I don't want to travel to North Hamptons Shaws market. Got kicked out for being accused of hanging out with a kid I wasn't even with because he was breaking products and they told me not to come back there for no reason at all. For my family, really no reason to shop here. This market is way behind the times with the lowest quality product in every department. The meats are a joke and the marinated chicken all tastes the same. Very poor quality. I am truly furious. Steaming mad. I have called them up several times for red hot ghost chillies. They always say they have them and when I actually go in, they dont!!! Their produce manager told me 3 separate times over the phone that they had them. Each time I walked in to pick them up, they weren't there. One of their front end managers was extremely rude to me when I asked for help. He looked too young to be a manager. He snapped at me when I asked for assistance. He should learn to treat people better. I also witnessed him berating a cashier almost making her cry. In all the times I've been to this establishment, I've witnessed these front end managers berating the cashiers and baggers. Vile behavior from so called adults. Shame, shame, shame. I like the new store. it is larger and cleaner / newer. vegetables & produce are always fresher than the market basket down the road. prices are great market basket prices and meats are cut right and fresh. i shop here weekly and as long as i am there by 8am and out by 9am on the weekend im happy, but i don't like shopping if it is so crazy busy which happens anytime from 9 -3 on the weekend...if you hit it wrong you could spend hours there. read more

The produce and meat in this store is HORRIBLE, I went on a Sunday after work and pepper, onions and tomatoes were soft. I proceeded to buy some oranges only to find them with MOLD. I asked the cashier when their produce delivery was and she said Mondays, even the woman behind me said, well that explains a lot. The meat isn't fresh a couple days after buying and the ground beef has a ONE day expiration date. A large new Market Basket quite similar to the large store opened in Epping a couple of years ago. It used to be that Market Baske was an inexpensive option with not a lot of variety this is no longer the case with these large format stores. The prices are still the best around but now you can find whatever you need at one location. A great place to do your routine grocery shopping. Market Basket is in the process of opening 30 new stores and if they are all in this large format style all other supermarket chains should watch out. Shaws is already changing their approach to service and others are sure to follow. read more

Moved up to Amesbury, MA from Connecticut a few months ago. This is a great supermarket. Big selection and great prices. I especially like their italian meats and cheeses cooler they have near their deli. great deli meat prices too, my favorite part is their beer selection. They have a great selection of craft beers, a lot from local breweries (MA,VT,NH,ME) ive found a number of great beers i list as my favorites now from their selection. They also have lots of to go foods if you dont feel like cooking that night, pizza, chicken and lot of other things too, very clean store and any employee ive ever asked for help, was always very nice. read more

Yet again my groceries are damaged and so poorly handled as to ruin some. This is typical of my experience shopping there. Formally a dedicated customer, now I wonder just what happened. They wanted me to give them my sales receipts - where by they would know what checker/bagger. I have no interest in them SCAPE GOATING an hourly employee. The issue is corporate. They say they train their staff -but every time I get a bagger of high schoolish age my food is so badly handled it makes it worthless. Who wants chips packed with canned good on top? It is no longer the store that felt a part of your community. The managers fix nothing - I can only imagine corporate gives them phrases to spew out - which they do but they don't DO anything to fix their declining service. Stopped in to get bread and chips. Two simple things. In and out. However the lines were into the aisles, not enough staff on or not paying attention. They weren't over burdened with customers-maybe 20 people in line, but in only 3 lines it looks really busy. Managers in red coats standing and chatting-but clearly not on how to get people out the door or even acknowledging there were lines. And the lady ringing people out in the express lane clearly hated her job. I don't think anyone explained to her that speed was important. Chatting about every item people were buying but not with the customer, just to herself. Watching the lady make orange juice and commenting on it. I don't think she realized humans were even in front of her at any point. Management here clearly does not respect people's time or customers in general. Good thing MB has a good name and prices, or this store would go out of business if it had to compete on service. Pretty store, pretty bad management. read more

I have gone here 12 times or so for a steak and cheese. They have been out of steak 6 times. The people are usually nice about it but if they know there going to be out why don't you order more before your out. Whenever I get a drink at Market Basket and pay for it they always shake it up so it's really fizzy and loses all its bubbles and doesn't taste good anymore. They don't even apologize, they act like they don't even notice. And they employees are really rude and do not look happy AT ALL!! read more

What are refreshing change with the renovations and expansion. The news store most importantly is cleaner , more space and parking lot is not as cramped plus brighter! With all of the improvements it is a much safer and easier shopping experience more being a large and at times hectic store. Also has an expansive beer and wine selection along with a market cafe(hot foods,pizza and espresso bar) Worth the extra few miles to shop here ! read more
