I am big on customer service and thia place continues to fail me time and time again. I used to get most of my Alex and Ani from Major Jewelers but then they switched to Markens. Major had great employees who took the time to assist you and did so professionally. They knew me by name. I waited for things to get better before doing this review but every time I've visited Markens I end up being assisted by the same young lady with the nastiest attitude. I will edit this when I find my receipt and get her name. She appears to be Guyanese or Trinidadian. On this particular occasion I was looking for a bracelet to give a Social Worker at my school as a gift. I asked for a couple that reflected on the tasks of a Social Worker. Most of them they didn't have which was irritating because I had called before and was told they had them. After asking her to see the cards I could tell she was getting frustrated and her comment to me was "do you know anything about Alex and Ani"? It wasn't just what she said but how. Before I could answer she quickly said "Do you own any of them "? Mine you on my arm on that particular day I had about 6 of the 15 I own. She walked away to speak with someone else and I had it. I made a decision to purchase a knot bracelet , paid and left. I will never patronize them again. Happy that Roosevelt Field now has the Alex and Ani store that I can go to or Bloomingdales. I refuse to be disrespected where I'm spending my money. read more

They receive and extra star for carrying pandora. I was so about to drive all the way to Roosevelt field and I was so happy I didn't have to. The employees greeted us as we walked in and they were super helpful. I needed to get my ring resized and they informed us that the jeweler is in on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Which is okay. They let me leave my ring with them and I don't have to pay until I pick it up of course. Moving on from there, they have an awesome Pandora display and are all super knowledgeable about the charms and the different things you can do with it. They were so helpful. We got a total of three bracelets and the price wasn't too bad. Now I don't think they deviate from the regular Pandora pricing but they were really helpful with making charm suggestions and showing us all of our options. Warranty and cleaning if we just walk in. They were so great. Really glad I came in here and this may be my go to jewelry spot. Definitely one of the best in green acres. read more

I get the best customer service from this place ! I'm a very picky person when it comes to picking out a new Alex & Ani bracelet, the staff here are always so patient. They have a nice selection of fashion jewelry, wedding rings etc. the store isn't all that big , but they cover a lot of different types jewelry. I have been comming here for a while now, and since they finally started selling my favorite line of jewelry , I will always be a returning customer ! read more

Melissa is amazing! She has went over and above for my fiancé and I. I have to tell you there were some hindrances that would have prevented me from writing this review but her impeccable customer service had lead me to do so. For years my fiancé had credit at this store, which he never used in hopes of buying a watch for himself but when he knew he wanted to marry me he used his credit for my engagement ring. When we went ring picking, the service was incredible and of course they worked with him with the price. Then we also picked out the wedding band. Just some months later, we went back for the wedding band and had to pick out another because somehow there was a mixup. Which was no biggie because we got to pick a similar one out again. He put some money down on this one and everything was going smoothly until he went to finish pay it off and surprise me with bringing the ring home some weeks before the wedding to show my parents. My ring was not there and there was none available for months in my size... To make a long story short Melissa Miller literally went over and above to make sure I had a ring and one that I will love in time for my wedding day. My fiancé was able to get a .5ct more with lifetime assurance for a unbeatable price. On top of that Melissa reassured my dad when he called to make sure my fiancé was not manipulated on just spending more money for them To make an extra buck. Markens is a full service store that sales jewelry, fix& repair jewelry, Pandora, Alex and Ani, and Lokai bracelets. Whether you're looking for a new items or a retired item you have a 90% chance of finding it here. There have been a few times I called to see if a particular bracelet or charm is in stock and I've been able to put an item in hold for pick up. Markens has affordable prices and good quality jewelry. The staff are very nice, professional, and knowledgeable about the items they sale. The store is always clean and presentable. I was looking for some Alex & Ani bracelets for a gift so I searched the directory for the Qnz Center mall. I was excited this jewelry store carried them. I've been here once or twice before for pandora charms. I wasn't sure which bracelets to pick out and Destiny was super helpful. She wasn't rushing me to pick one out. She took out every bracelet I asked her to show me and even showed me in silver and gold. I was super impressed by her customer service. Great Job! I will be back. read more

do not i repeat do not do business with this crooked store. my husband financed a ring here through a sales associate named raquel. she was so desperate for the sale that she lied and told him there was zero interest on the card for 2 years. 15 months later we receive a statement for a $1,500 interest fee!!!! the store and syncrochy bank refuse to take accountability for lying and now we are stuck! not to mention i brought my ring in to be sized and am one thousand percent sure my center stone was switched out!!! do not i repeat do not do business here once they get your money you are screwed!!!! read more

Today is Christmas Eve and my husband ordered me a monogram necklace since last week Saturday and the manager assured us it would be here by Christmas. My husband went to pick it up and they did not have it. This is the first time in 52 years I will not have a Christmas gift from my husband. Can you imagine when we open our gifts on Christmas Day, I will not have anything to open because this store did not honor what they promised I will never purchase anything from this store again. At Markens Jewelers right now in Green Acres Mall fighting with a supposed sales rep over a ring that keeps losing its diamonds!!!!! We've been back and forth to this store getting 2 rings fixed at least once a month and they refuse to give us a replacement at even cost!!! This store and its customer service sucks!!! I never post negative reviews but the service my husband and I have been receiving is deplorable and they could care less. My husband spent good money on these rings and he only wants what's right and fair. No one should have to get their diamonds replaced every month or be embarrassed to wear their rings!!! read more

Very very upset with the queens center location. I purchased both my wedding bands here we well as many gifts. I have a warentee on my bands and come every 6 months to get them cleaned. The ladies working there are so unproffesional and provide the worst customer service. I am quite disappointed especially as a customer who used to spend alot of money there. I am going to rant a little/a lot. I never write reviews but I felt compelled to write this one. This company is a joke. I wish I could give it ZERO star. I went to the mall looking for a very specific chain, and went into this store and found one. I ask for the price because the tag was small, This associate automatically offers it to me for a lower price (that I did not ask for) so of course I'm excited. I was looking for that style of chain for years and couldn't find it, So I bought the chain. The following day, I was just not feeling the chain anymore because I wanted something a little heavier so I go back to return and this guy now all of the sudden tells me there's no return on "special price" meanwhile the whole time he was swiping my card and offering me this sale, he NEVER mentioned nothing about it being un-refundable if I accept the sale. Apparently all three of the markens stores are like this, I went to a different one to see if it was the same, the lady told me to talk to the manager. If I had bought the chain online then I can understand me being responsible for reading the fine print because it's there prior to the purchase, but in person??? They don't even have a sign to warn people about their "special price" bullshit. Every store that I've ever shopped in that had a no refund policy always has a sign up clearly stating it or the cashier would tell you before you buy it. These people are slimy, underhanded and sneaky. BE AWARE of them trying to tell you they'll lower the price because if they do, watch them not tell you about the no refund policy, and when you come back, they tell you it's on the receipt. Like wtf does that even do if the warning comes after you take my money. Now he's saying he can only exchange it, like I don't want a fckn exchange, I'm looking for a very specific style of chain, I'm not gonna lose my money exchanging it for something I don't want. I simply want my refund to go elsewhere that has my chain. Shop at this company AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. I have had a very bad experience on my 1st anniversary at Garden city store. We purchased a ring here and when we asked the salesman said it is refundable. But after purchase he simply printed on receipt that it is a final sale. When we returned to store for refund he pointed out to receipt saying it's not refundable. Moreover he rudely said I never said it is refundable and asked me to leave the store. My wife was so shocked by looking at the way he changed his colors and started crying outside the store. Don't trust these people they go to any level to sell their stuff. read more
