Unpleasant experience with manager…read more I went to this salon to get blonde highlights. The last time I saw Amber, she did a good job and I was happy with the result. This time, I asked for more blonde streaks or "ribbons," but the result had very little visible blonde. It looked nothing like what I requested or what I had received previously. I called to have it fixed and was told I first needed to come in for a consultation with the manager, Gizelle. I went in and Gizelle spent 20 minutes telling me that I had not communicated my request for blonde highlights correctly. She insisted on placing the blame on me, even when I reminded her that Amber had no trouble understanding my request for blonde highlights on the previous visit. The interaction felt confrontational rather than helpful. I did receive a refund, but the overall experience was frustrating and disappointing. I also noticed another review here describing an unpleasant experience with Gizelle. Based on this experience, I would be cautious--not just about the consistency of the color work, but especially how customer concerns are handled by management.

Maybe it's just me but I was left pretty unhappy with the end result. I chose to make an appointment with Gina because everyone was raving about her on yelp and her prices are very reasonable. I went in for highlights and a cut. After she was done doing the color and the cut she curled my hair before I could see the end result. Therefore, I left the salon feeling relatively happy with the end result. However, as I eventually washed my hair and put it up on a ponytail I realized exactly what she'd done to my hair. The highlights (or balayage as she had recommended instead) seem very chunky and you can very clearly tell they look unnatural and do not go all the way to the root of my hair. I've had balayage a few times before an I'm quite sure that's not what it's supposed to look like. I was greeted by Gina and she spent at least 20 minutes going over what I wanted, my hopes, the reality of how the color would look and take with my current hair color, and ensuring she understood what I was looking for. Gina took her time working on my hair - explaining what she was doing and why through each step. She definitely knew what she was doing and her confidence was reassuring. I was there for coloring for my wedding next month. This was to be a trial, with enough time to fix just in case. While I still need to see how much the color will fade with washes, I love it! It's darker than I imagined, but looks amazing! In the sunlight the red/burgundy color shows up and makes it look even better! She got my hair exactly how I wanted it with a good amount of layers! Then I scheduled to get a perm done with her. I just got the perm yesterday and I LOVE it! I have only had a perm once before when I lived on the continent. My perm now is better than back then! I love the curl pattern! They were really nice and asked me a couple times if I wanted anything to drink while they were working on me. Definitely recommend!
