Gentrie Supply in downtown Lafayette is one of those stores you walk into just to look around and…read moresomehow leave with a bag. Really neat little store with clothes for both men and women, plus some unique decor and other stuff you're not going to find everywhere else. The clothes are stylish without being ridiculous, and the staff is super helpful without following you around the store trying to sell you something every 30 seconds. I ended up buying two shirts and could have easily bought more. Definitely follow them on social media because they post new arrivals, which brings me to my only complaint. They had this shirt with chickens embroidered on the shoulders that I absolutely would have bought, except the only one left was a small. A small. There was no amount of optimism, stretching, or wishful thinking that was getting me into that tiny thing. So whoever bought the one in my size, we have beef. I don't know who you are, but I hope you enjoy my shirt. Next time I'll buy it first. Very cool store, great staff, and definitely worth stopping in if you're downtown Lafayette. Just apparently don't hesitate when you see something you like because some stylish gentleman may beat you to it.

My daughters and I each left with shoes that were a perfect match for our feet and ankles. Teenagers can definitely be picky, but the worker never once complained or rushed us--despite the many pairs they tried on. He was patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that the shoes were actually cheaper here than online--which made supporting a local business feel even better.
