I should of read all helpful comments before I went to this place twice ! It such a waste of time . Lafayette , this place should close down , the customer service were so below average,not clear informations , below average for communication and not to mention the worker said I need an appointment before I come . Hah ! If you didn't sell your old items there lately just put a sign upfront of store that you are not accepting anymore items so we won't step in at all! I can't say I was impressed with this place. We dropped off a large box of clothing and shoes, many of which still had price tags. When we returned three hours later, we were told they'd had a rush and hadn't gotten to our box. We asked if we could pick up the items the next day since we live out of town, but they said everything had to be picked up by 7 PM that same day. I asked one of the workers how long it would take to process the items, and he directed me to the lady at the front desk. I had already spoken to her, and she thought the items had been processed but hadn't been entered into the system yet. It seemed like there was a lack of communication among the staff. Horrible customer service. I went there one morning to sell some items and was told they couldn't accept anything because the owner wasn't there. I called the evening before I planned to go back and was told they were accepting items the next day. I called the next day on my way there and was told again they were accepting items. I get there, only 30 minutes after they opened and was told they could not accept any more items for the day even though they just opened at 10:00. I wasted my time and gas driving there (and I don't live close) just to be turned away twice. Also there prices are too high. I can get new clothes on clearance for those prices. Will never set foot in this store again. read more

While the prices are pretty decent for both sale and buy back the worst problem is how long it takes for them to review buy backs. Every time I've sold it's taken at least 3 hours. That's pretty silly. read more

This review is about the SELLING EXPERIENCE. There is no store such as this where I live so I first came to know this store when my niece was given a bag of hand-me-downs that she didn't want. Many of the items were worn and in fair to shabby condition. None were new. When she told me she was going to take it to Clothes Mentor (CM) and see if she could get money for the items, I snickered and thought to myself, 'no way..that's junk.' Well, to my surprise, she took in these items (appx 15 or so) and they took several pieces and gave her appx $30 and some change. I was floored. So then I thought...I have designer items hanging in my closet with the price tags still on them that I haven't worn and don't want. If they gave her $30 for some used stuff that I wouldn't wear...then surely I'd do real well. Lol...NOT!! This is where I should have read reviews about the other CM's before attempting to sell here. BTW...based on those reviews, the selling experience is pretty much awful and similar to mine. Recently I was in the area and I brought with me to sell to CM about 40-50 items from my closet that I was going to get rid of. Clothes, pumps, boots, coats, etc. Everything designer. Most bought within the past year. Many items were brand new or worn once or twice; sizes 4 thru 8. My intuition told me not to bring everything in to the store at once and I 'm glad I listened because they take your items without giving you a receipt or verifying what they are taking from you. Odd and a bit disconcerting to just expect people to leave their nice items in the store without some type of process to verify you brought in a certain number of things. First red flag. I was glad I had taken the time to make a list of my items and take pics. After handing over about 13 items, I perused the store. Wanted to see if there was anything on the floor I might want to purchase as well as compare the store's merchandise with the items I just handed to the sales associate. I noticed that some of the clothing and shoes in the store were cheap, well worn and not stylish at all. This gave me a bit of confidence that my items would surely sell. WELL...lo and behold!!! I was somewhat surprised and a bit disappointed when the employee handed me my basket and had only taken 4 items (Cole Hahn leather gladiators sandals-worn once, a brand new wool coat, brand new Donna Morgan dress, Steve Madden patent leather platform sandals-worn once) they were interested in purchasing. She offered me $40 and some change. I asked for a breakdown of how this amount was calculated. You see, the Cole Hahn's retailed for at least $300. She told me that it was on a computer and that she couldn't print out anything for me. 2nd red flag. This young girl who couldn't be more than in her early twenties and didn't look nor dress like she knew much about fashion told me that the clothes they were passing on were "not in current demand". These items included brand new shoes and clothes by DV, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Ann Klein, French Connection, Nine West, Michael Kors, BCBGMAXAZRIA, and Vince Camuto. I knew I could easily sell all on Ebay. I was flabbergasted especially after looking through the items for sale in the store and not being able to find one thing I would buy. I take a lot of pride in my style and appreciate quality well-made clothing. I buy things from Bloomingdales, Dillards, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Macy's, Marshalls, TjMaxx, Ross, and consignment shops so in no way am I a clothes snob. My coworkers and friends always compliment me on my style and many beg me for my items when I no longer want them. I was selective in the things I brought to this store and only chose items that I would want to own. Wrapping this review up: this store is a joke! They don't really want your really nice items to sell. It seems as if they are trained to only accept a few items from each customer (maybe based on some daily budget the seller is unaware of). The decision to purchase your clothes is more than likely based upon the 'style' of the person working that day who gets to rummage through your things. This makes this buying process of theirs subjective to the whim of the sales associate on duty, what mood they're in... their favorite color or even something as silly as...whether or not they like you or want to do business with you? And yes, I took the $40 because I didn't want to lug the stuff back with me and had to ask for a receipt of this transaction because they don't automatically give you one when you sell to them. They don't tell you this up front of course. I noticed I didn't get the receipt after receiving my money. SHADY!!!! This is a major scam!! BE WARNED. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE AGAIN: buying or selling. Seller beware..you'd do better on ebay or a garage sale.
