I have received treatments over the past 9 years at Dr Sofonio's office and have been pleasantly surprised with the excellent prices and service. I love their new location right across from the River shopping center. When I visited they utilized proper COVID9 protocols with masks, temperature checks, social distancing. i visit the desert and also Los Angeles. The prices for neurotoxin and fillers at Dr Sofonio's are insanely lower than what I'm used to seeing in Los Angeles. read more

I would never recommend this office for many reasons. Firstly, they are not good at filler and Botox (I went elsewhere to have it done properly and in one visit, she did more than they ever did in dozens of visits). The women who all work there are rude and disrespectful, and after I got burned by a machine, I had to chase the doctor for my refund - which he waited seven months before telling me I could get! This, after going there for over four years and spending at least 10k. After repeated phone calls and emails that went unanswered to his go-between Aida, a nasty individual who was horrible to deal with, the doctor demanded I drive two hours back and forth to pick up a form that I could have printed from my home computer! He literally made me jump through hoops before giving me back my own money! Then, the day I went to pick up my check which was supposedly ready for me four days earlier, he played more games like making my husband and I wait over an hour. I found out later -after writing this review -that he filed a phony report against me which is Illegal! This doctor is such a shady liar. I wouldn't let him near me with a knife. What he put me through was so unpleasant. He dragged this out for months - it was disgusting! He even lied about sending me a check when he never did - and refused to finish treating the scar on my arm, which he promised in writing, and which remains prominent eight months later. Jeana, a so-called professional assigned to treat my arm with the laser, claimed she was uncomfortable treating me or some other woke b.s. excuse - or this shady doctor just lied and said that to avoid treating me. Susan, the one whose machine burned me, had the audacity to call me ungrateful as though I didn't spend over $1000 to get scarred! The girls at the front are unfriendly and apparently liars for saying I was violent - of all things to make up! - when they refused to give me my check after telling me to come get! Shameful. Filing a phony report is ILLEGAL- and libelous. For anyone there who's reading this, consider this a warning. This whole office is a bunch of backstabbing liars - especially the charlatan doctor. read more

Both my twin sister and I had a Geneo facial yesterday with Danielle Morida Rubino, skin care specialist at Dr. Sofonio's office in Rancho Mirage- WOW, what a fabulous experience! The Balance Facial is beyond any facial my sister or I have ever experienced - oxygenation, exfoliation and nourishment. Danielle explained every step she was taking and my sister and I left with a feeling of awesomeness for how our skin glowed and how 'alive' we looked. We were giddy and happy all the way home and we remain thrilled with the outcome a week later. We will be back. Thank you so much read more

I've meet with Dr Sofonio for consultation months ago for a CO2 treatment and an upper eye lift. I felt extremely comfortable putting myself in his care. Dr Sofonio has all the credentials needed but his bedside manner was the decision maker. I felt he really does care that you feel at ease. It's been less than 2 weeks since the procedure. I followed his instructions to the tee and healing very well. I made the right decision. Joni F read more

Dr. Sofonio and his staff are generally great. I had a procedure done by Dr. Sofonio almost a year ago and continue to be extremely pleased with the results. Further, the office staff, as well as other staff whom I saw in connection with the procedure were absolutely terrific. Subsequently, I recommended a friend who had a procedure performed by Dr. Sofonio, and she too, was extremely happy with the results. Here is the exception to this office: John, the man who does botox/filler procedures is positively awful. He is condescending, unprofessional, and mostly just bad at his job. Almost from the moment I sat down in his chair, he proceeded to tell me that he wished he could live at his "other house" full time in Arizona because he doesn't like the politics in California. He then injected me with a product that, after waiting over a week to take effect, I noticed did absolutely nothing. In all of the years I have been having Botox/fillers, this has NEVER happened with anyone who has performed these procedures on me. I then decided to go to Dr B (the other cosmetic/filler professional at the office, who, by the way is fantastic) for a re-do of the poor work that John did. (Unfortunately, I was unable to see Dr. B at the outset because it was during the holidays and she was unavailable, which is why I initially made the appointment with John). Never again. This guy is horrendous, has an extremely abrupt and unprofessional manner, and stinks at his job. Stay away. I hope that Dr. Sofonio will take note of this complaint. In looking at other reviews, I see I am not the first one to write a negative review about John. read more

I went to Dr. Sofonio for botox because of the great pricing I had seen in his TV and print ads. $7 is a great price. As a new resident to Palm Springs, I had another very competent surgeon in Beverly Hills and my sister works for a major med spa in another state. Let's just say I am familiar with procedures, their costs and what one should anticipate in terms of results. The service was quick, painless (minimal) and Jon was an excellent injector. Anyone can provide Botox. Anyone. What separates a mediocre from an excellent practitioner is who injects the product and what techniques they use. Also someone that sees a lot of patients with excellent results is generally going to be more skillful than someone who does not. The service is quick, efficient and the results perfect. i feel and look refreshed and not so tense. I don't want to look plastic or fake or weird: perfect. I see others have posted about not being satisfied. Jon is not a warm-fuzzy guy and I have been to places where people were super friendly and huggy - but not as skilled. Frankly, skill and getting the results I want is most important to me. Another post said Jon would not give him an injection where he wanted it. I THINK THAT"S GREAT. He told me the same thing and said it was unsafe. I asked questions and received feedback and was okay with the answer. No practitioner should EVER do a procedure they feel is risky or may not get the desired result. The fact they said NO, should be respected and NOT perceived as them being a jerk. There are too many plastic surgeons who will do anything someone asks for the money and that is unprofessional. I wouldn't agree to do something if I thought the person would not be satisfied REGARDLESS if they had the procedure done 1,000 times. Finally, I received a consult on a surgical procedure and am contemplating it now. There was no high pressure. There was a request for a deposit, but which is normal and appropriate for elective surgery not covered by insurance and all doctors that I know require a deposit. I once had made a deposit and there was work conflict and I had to reschedule. Because I provided sufficient notice, they just applied the deposit to the re-scheduled procedure. No doctor's team wants to rip off your deposit. They just want you to be committed and vested in the procedure and know you're going to show up. In summary, my experience was great (I went back for a quick touch up last week before a family reunion) and I would recommend Botox from Dr. Sofonio to anyone. For other procedures, I feel comfortable with my experience as well. Finally, I recommend that people get real in terms of expectations, be ready to understand risks and outcomes and you will have a great experience wherever you go. read more

I don't normally post but I want to recognize and recommend Dr Sofonio!! He takes the time to listen to you so you get the best result possible. I recently had a breast reduction and lift and I am more than satisfied with the results. He had some challenges because of my scoliosis and uneven chest. Somehow he was able to provide me with a balanced more youthful look. He made himself available, even on Saturday, to check my progress. He really is the best!! read more

My husband and I have spent upwards of $10K at Dr. Sofonio's in the past 5 or 6 years. We were offered a special to get a facial peel and facial. I had the first part. I called to make the facial part in early April with Desiree Wesson, MA. for Tuesday 4/4/23 at 12:30. I arrived to find that she didn't even work on Tuesdays. I made another appointment for today, May 17, a Wednesday when she worked for 12:30. I showed up to find that the office staff had not written the appointment in the book. MY second and final attempt to have this done made me infuriated. I was told I could make a third appointment hours from that time or come back another day. I wasted 2 hours on trying to get two appointments. I announced that I would NEVER use their services again and would return to Dr. Odon. I want my money back and an official apology. read more

Went to Dr. Bonakdar for fillers. The fee was more than other doctors. I went back because one my folds needed to be filled fuller. Something that should have been done correctly the first time. I was charged an additional $400 for the same area. I also did not care for the way in which I was told what the fee would be. A piece of paper was shown me with the price on it as the doctor was doing the injections NOT before. That was my fault for not asking....... DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE read more

I had an appointment with an older gentleman named Tony, I believe his name was. I cancelled my botox appointment with him in the middle of our conversation because he was so off-putting. He was very dismissive of what I was asking for and negative about the questions I was asking him. He did NOT make me feel welcomed, which is incredibly disappointing. I would like for him to be aware of how he treats his patients and understand how to make women feel comfortable and positive about themselves when they are going in for procedures. I am very disappointed in his bed side manners. I will not recommend this office for anything. read more

This is a review about a treatment i did during their November special for Juvederm for $300 back in November of 2017. I booked my appointment over the phone. The day of my appointment they couldn't find my appointment because the consultation was not with dr Sofonio but actually with another doctor that works in the office. I walk over to the private room and I'm handed a little piece of ice in a balloon to numb my lips. I've gotten my lips done before and every single office uses topical anesthesia for your lips to numb for at least 30 minutes so this was slightly off. The doctor arrives in the office and immediately leaves the room because he had to take a phone call that lasted a while. He comes back and fills in my lips quickly with juvederm without asking me a question about the shape of what I had in mind. It was painful since my lips weren't fully numb due to the ice that I rubbed all over my lips. I left with swollen lips which is normal but once the swelling went down my lips were uneven which lead me to email the office and I never got a reply back. I just went to a different med spa where the first thing the nurse asked was "who screwed up your lips?" They are now even but I honestly wouldn't recommend going to Dr Sofonio to get your lips done even if it's at a really great price. Sometimes you get what you pay for. read more

Mark Sofonio, MD - The Juvederm filler was injected mainly on one side. - Cosmetic Surgeons Near Me - Rancho Mirage, California

It took me almost 2 years to move forward with upper eyes, cheek & mini facelift. The day of my surgery, during the final consultation , I had added a few more things to be fixed like filler put in my smile lines and fat taken out of my chin. Dr. Sofonio is truly an artist..He didn't try to upsell me. The goal was to keep me looking natural. If I had to do it again he is the one for the job!. If anyone is looking for this type of surgery, he's got to be the best.. I live in the San Francisco Bay area. I searched far and wide, and could've choosen any surgeon.. Dr.Sofonio had the best credentials and his approach to customize a plan that just fit me...he is definitely not a one size fits all. And Wow.. I am such a scaredy-cat and I do analysis to paralysis on things like this, but I have to be honest and saying that this completely exceeded my expectations. Oh and by the way ...it got me to quit smoking before my surgery .I know kind of an expensive way to quit but in the long run I've probably saved a lot of money. Got a two for one... the before and after pictures, don't lie what a huge difference. Thank you Dr Sofonio and to Kay my blessed nurse who stayed with me the first night. I will add the before and after photos once I have them. read more

Over the last few years I have had botox injected in my face by John Poling. The first time John did it he took his time. He studied my face and had me squint my eyes and make facial expressions before he started injecting. The next few times seemed rushed but the result was satisfactory. Fast forward to Monday January 29th. I arrived a about ten mins early to the office. I signed my self in. Within 4 minutes John appeared at the door and told me to come in. I was quite pleased that I didn't have to wait long. Within 10 seconds of sitting in the chair John had stuck me with a needle and proceeded to stab me in several places. The whole procedure was over in a matter of seconds. He said "That's it" for which I interpreted to mean that I was to get up and leave right away. Five days later my right eye severely drooped to the point I could not open it. I was in complete shock. It progressively got worse. On Monday I called the office and was told to come in. I drove immediately to the office and was let in quickly as I suspect John didn't want the patients waiting to see my eye. He sat me down and basically told me that "This sometimes happens" and tough luck for me. He said it would wear off eventually. He stated that in no way was any of it his fault. I reminded him how fast and reckless he seemed when he injected me. He stated "I've done so many of these procedures that I know what I'm doing" He accepted no responsibility and said that this happens randomly once every year or so and that I was just unlucky. The experience has been a nightmare. My eye is STILL nearly closed a month later It makes it difficult to drive and work. Instead of improving my appearance, he made me look like a stroke victim. Nearly all my friends and even strangers look at me stunned and ask what happened to my eye. I do handyman work and meet with dozens of people each week. I make sure I tell them the details of my experience at THE OFFICE OF MARK SOFONIO at the hands of "John the injector" This was plain and simple negligence and malpractice on the part of the office. I should add that I wrote Sofonio a letter asking him to please help me and he completely ignored me.i read more

I have had a few procedures done by Dr. Sofonio. He has ALWAYS been nice, professional, and accommodating. He backs his work, is very exacting for different procedures, and makes sure one is happy! I have see the work by other doctors, and they do not compare. With his work, there is less swelling, and the results are wonderful! His staff have been very nice too! Elizabeth, Bree, Jackie, and others (I am sorry if I did not name you!) have been so sweet! Not exactly sure why I was charged for a consultation (it wasn't cheap), when it says on his Yelp that it is complimentary.

I will only see Doctor Bonakdar aka Dr. B. She is the best clinician in this office. It was difficult for me to find someone with the expectations I have for myself when it comes to fillers and Botox. I get compliments on my lips and fillers almost daily. Doctor B is highly experienced and takes the time to listen to me and she treats her patients as individuals, not numbers. She takes pride in her work and her injection style is superb. She treats her clients with style and class. I will not see any other doctor. So, if you frequent Doctor Sofonio's office for injections, make sure to see Doctor B!! read more

I am happy and feel better about putting myself out there in the world. I have also been happy with Jon Boling. I find him to be very experienced and knows just what he is doing to get the desired results. He has done for me what other technicians have not. I wanted to have filler done again by Nurse Shirley, who does a great job. Since she was on vacation I made an appt with John. Big mistake...he said he couldn't provide Juvederm where I had it before, with great results by Nurse Shirley. He told me Sculptura was a great product and less expensive. I was so disappointed that there were no results and knew the internet recommended 3 sessions. He also told me I needed additional work. I felt I was scammed and mislead. I have gone to Nurse Shirley for years and sadly she has retired. Today, Botox with John. Before I could even sit down he starts in about COVID and his politics. Obviously a Trumper. Called to schedule a consultation and told that Dr. Sofonio is a VERY busy man and pretty much doesn't have the time to meet unless you pay $100.00. The amount would then be applied to a surgery should one proceed. Elizabeth SHOULD NOT be handling calls. I would NEVER let this office touch me. Not only was she unprofessional but condescending. While I agree that potential patients may be interested in wasting money for a consultation, I would rather take my business elsewhere and find a equally or better qualified doctor. BEWARE of this office. I should have read more YELP reviews before I even called, lesson learned. Asking patients to sign a waiver to try to prevent them from speaking negatively (honest I would assume) is alarming.... read more

One of the Worst experiences ever. All of those advertisements you see in the paper with great prices are done by a PA who comes across like he is above you no matter what you say. I have gotten the same thing every time (Radiesse) in a spot (over 6 years now) btw... I asked for Radiesse which is indicated to excel in this particular area/spot and have had it applied in the past and he said "I don't do that in mid face" which by the way, it is clinically indicated for this area. He was almost arrogant in attitude so I left extremely disappointed. Think about it, why would you think a plastic surgeon would waste time his time with fillers? He rather do surgery and make the big bucks. So, you want to go to a PA to tell you what you need done vs asking you what you are trying to achieve? Feel free go here. He doesn't make it an even playing field to facilitate communication vs inserting his own opinion. As for the doc, didn't meet him. I wouldn't now with that PA on staff. Nor would I recommend him. read more
