Best decision I could've made, the staff is extremely professional and doctor Ericson is great. I was really scared of being put under however they were very patient and talked me through the whole process. Day of surgery I was still really scared but I was given space to get myself together before the procedure. Then I was seated in the chair and given a warm blanket to feel more comfortable. The. Best. Dentist. EVER. I only go to the dentist once every ten years or so (when there's an emergency) because of a horrendous experience with a dentist when I was a kid. So, I recently broke a tooth and had to have it removed. I was referred to Dr Ericson, who turned out to be dentistry's gold standard. Kind. Empathetic. Reassuring. Professional. I got in to see him the next day, and the appointment began exactly on time. He took a lot of time with me in a comfortable consultation room (vs. explaining everything while I'm laying back, mouth agape, with the interrogation light in my face) explaining, reassuring, answering all of my questions. The surgery started precisely on time. It was painless. Afterward, he again sat down with me in the consultation room and made sure that I understood all of the aftercare instructions. I've had 5 visits to his office so far and have always been greeted by professional, happy staff. They took the time to explain my insurance benefits and out of pocket expenses. Let me start by saying the I dread going to the doctor and I dread going to the dentist. So when I knew I needed oral surgery I thought I was in for a living nightmare... Luckily I found Dr. Mossop. I was having some problems with my molars and wisdom teeth and had already visited one dentist in Los Angeles. The first place gave me a creepy feeling (but that is a story for another time). When I returned to the Bay Area, I went to see Dr. Mossop. Here is my experience: Making an appointment was easy and the staff were accommodating to my schedule. I went in for my consultation and x-rays and Dr. Mossop and his staff were very friendly and welcoming. They made me and my significant other (who was with me) feel comfortable being there. In my consultation with Dr. Mossop, he explained my options, explained the procedures and answered all of my questions. He has a great manner that makes you feel like you can trust him and will be in good hands. I was given information for pre and post operation and scheduled the surgery for later in the week. Everything went as planned the day of the surgery. I had 2 wisdom teeth and two molars removed. The doctor and his staff were excellent. The surgery itself was pain free and the pain during recovery was reasonable. His office even called to check up on me. The follow-up visit the next day also went well. Another reason I think Dr. Mossop's staff are excellent is the way they worked with my insurance to make sure that I received all of the benefits I was entitled to. They even promptly issued a refund check when my insurance paid more than expected. It's nice to see an office succeed in doing the paperwork properly (an area where other doctors and their staff often fail). I saw Dr. Mossop a good...geez, 10 years ago. Given that I was only 15, there's a lot I can't comment on, in terms of billing etc. I was afraid of the whole ordeal, I've got mouth paranoia issues. I was referred by my dentist or orthodontist or someone to get my wisdom teeth taken out. They showed me the video of everything that could go wrong, and, thankfully, were able to schedule the surgery for the very next day, so I didn't have a lot of time to think about it and freak out too badly. They set me up on the IV and I was out. Surgery was painless. Coming off the drugs after surgery was rather fun! After care was just fine, with a little syringe given to rinse the sockets. I was back to eating solid food after the follow-up visit two days later. He even let me keep the teeth :) read more

After postponing my 2 lower wisdom teeth extractions for many years after I've gotten my braces off, I decided to finally read through yelp reviews in my area to find an oral surgeon. Dr. Mossop's office was able to combine both of my insurances so I didn't have to pay out of pocket. I was pretty nervous since this was my first ever surgery but I was reassured that it should be a smooth procedure. I was put on the IV and I was out. I don't remember anything from the surgery and that's a good thing cause that means it was painless! The next thing I remember was stumbling into the house as if I was drunk and then I KO'd on my bed. After a day or 2 of listening to "through the wire" and "novacane," I felt more active and back to normal. The swelling lasted about a week but the bulk of the swelling only last a few days. The openings completely closed after about a month. The most important part that Dr. Mossop stresses is the post-surgery, since you have to use the syringe that they give you and squirt water into the openings after every meal so that food doesn't get stuck in there, otherwise it can heal over the food particles. I recommended my sister to Dr. Mossop's office and she went there to get all 4 of her wisdom teeth out in one sitting. Both of us had an easy and comfortable experience there. read more

I was referred to Dr. Mossop by my regular dentist, Dr Jupina for extracting all 4 of my wisdom teeth. Let me start off by saying that I am one of those people who will avoid the dentist at all costs. But, I knew I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled. I walk into his office for the consultation and was soooo nervous, but he sat me down and completely calmed me down. I left feeling so much more at ease. Now, the day of surgery, Dr Mossop had informed me that he was getting some shot in his wrist and couldnt operate for a few hours after the shot so his partner Dr. Bennett was the one who actually operated but Dr Mossop was in the room the whole time. [note: he told me about this days before the surgery, he didnt just surprise me with switching surgeons] I got ALL 4 of my widsom teeth pulled on Friday afternoon and here it is Sunday afternoon and I am completely fine. I just got my upper two wisdom teeth removed this past week and so far I'm not feeling as much pain as I thought I would this many days later. The staff is VERY nice and they answer all your questions. No complaints there at all, but you can certainly tell when someone knows what they're talking about. The first couple of times I've called the phone was busy, but I suppose you have to time it well. They accommodated for me nicely to get my consultation with Dr. Mossop. The day of I was brought into the consult room and watched a 10 minute video of what to expect and some info on how wisdom teeth grow, etc etc. Oh and I also had an entire xray of my mouth done. I met Dr. Mossop and he was super nice. He asked me where I found out about him and I gave Yelp a little shout out. Everything was very prepared and left me feeling relaxed before my surgery. Great place just read the reviews. Here is everything that I did wrong. 1. I lost the packet they give you in the consult. I did not realize I would be on soft foods for 4-5 weeks. I am so hungry all the time. 2. The Narco did not work for me, but 3 advil did. So you may want to have some advil on hand to avoid going to the drugstore in a great deal of pain like I did. 4. If you have babies like I do get a baby sitter or some help for more than 1day. 5. If you think you may be coming down with something delay the procedure. I have the flu and four wisdom teeth out. Also, I am breast feeding so I cannot take any medications beyond advil. I am so out of it. This place is pricey, but I would only want the best oral surgeon taking out my teeth. read more

I like confident professionals and I must say not only was Dr. Mossop (and his staff) professional, they were VERY confident; which makes me feel calm. Having had a number of oral surgeries myself, this appointment was for my 8 year old daughter and she was nervous. I was referred to Dr. Mossop from our newly referred Orthodontist Dr. Rim. Dr. Mossop confirmed his recommendations, listened to my concerns and questions and still left the option open for me to get yet another opinion. I felt no need and declined that option. We moved forward, were given an appointment and detailed instructions for pre and post surgeries. All insurance verfication was handled with ease by his staff as well. Dr. Ericson and his team are honestly THE ABSOLUTE BEST. I TRUST THEM WITH MY LIFE. I needed my wisdom teeth removed, so after asking around i was recommended to this office by a friend. Not only did they schedule all of my appointments promptly, they also made sure to call a day before every appointment to confirm and even called to check after my procedure to see how i was doing. They even called to make sure i had picked up my prescription! When we came in with x-rays taken by another office, Dr. Ericson noted that they were faded and took replacement x-rays as well as the necessary 3D x-rays FOR FREE!!!!! The procedure itself was incredibly painless and easy. Dr. Ericson was skillful, calm, and relaxing. The anesthesia worked almost immediately and i was awake promptly after the surgery and up and walking not long after. I had very little pain afterwards and had a carefully explained set of rules for every aspect of the aftercare from treatment to diet. I have never been to a dental office so neat, well-run and personable. Since then, my entire family has been getting their procedures done at this office with the same results. First of all he's gorgeous, but he's much more than his good looks. My mom is deathly afraid of dentists and she needed to get a tooth pulled. She was prepared to spend over 1K to get it done while being put under. He took the time to talk my mom through process, and encouraged her to let him try numbing her instead. He said it'll save you a lot of money...(YES HE SAID THAT) Plus he thought the procedure would be simple enough that she could handle it awake.. My mom is 67 and pain is just not something she can handle, but she trusted him and she agreed to let him try. His Assistant held my mothers hand!!!! I have recently had really difficult decisions to make about having my teeth all removed and getting implants or dentures. Honestly, there was no question that it had to be done, just how to do it based on my own fear, pain, finances etc. The first group of teeth pulled at my regular dentist went well except for the horrifying pain levels I went through. The last tooth was a little bit tricky as it cracked at the gum line and had to be removed via surgery. I also had bone grafts on 2 areas - performed by Dr, Ericson. Had I known how incredible he and his staff were, I seriously would have considered the extra expense of having all of them surgically removed! There was almost no pain and the healing process went so smoothly that the experience has been top notch. What a wonderful thing to get on the last extraction! No gum trauma like the others I had pulled, no bleeding and no dry socket, as bone was added and collagen over that then stitches and super glue! NO SWELLING of my face! I am simply so amazed by Dr. Ericson's expert level of treatment. From beginning to end it has been a pleasure and a warm relief to have the last of my teeth removed with such great care and with no after affects. Anyone forced to make the difficult decisions about dentures, implants or full upper/lower fixed dentures MUST speak to this group of dedicated people! The staff was caring, professional and very knowledgeable. I loved the extra attention placed on health and safety for staff as well as people coming in to get treatment. Had a cracked tooth having had a root canal a few years ago. Thought after a root canal it was stable forever but the root canal cracked and got infected last December and today dr Mark Erickson and his team removed the tooth under a level of anesthesia called lala land. I have had two referrals from other dentists who confirmed what I needed. o note I already paid twice, (extraction and graft) I was told via phone and walk in that I can be seen only after referral from another specialist. I told staff, I did that, have the referral and recommendation, but his office still wanted to charge consultation/exam fee of $190.00. Didn't I just get sent out to confirm that? All the staff here are very polite and caring, including Dr. Mossop. It was no problem getting an appointment. The procedure I had went well, and there was no pain until after I was done. Dr. Mossop even called me the same day to personally check on me (which was cool, even though I was too out of it to really talk to him). The only problem I had was with the after care. They gave me an instruction sheet of what to do, but it didn't say how long to expect pain and swelling, or that I should use warm compresses. They also did not schedule a follow-up appointment to check my wound, which I thought was a little strange. Although their after-care could use some improvement, I would return here for future procedures. Next time I would know what to ask ahead of time. read more

well im a huge guy 6'7" and like 480 pounds. and i was in horrible pain. i busted my left lower wisdom tooth. and i hate dentists. too many bad experiences when i was a kid. i was referred here by a dentist. and i met one of the coolest doctors ever. dr. ericson. right away i was scheduled to get all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. the cost $2600 the doctor took his time and sedated me. and within an hour he pulled all 4 wisdom teeth and had me out of the office. later that night i had issues i called the office and boom i was transfered right to the doctor. he told me what i needed to do. and sure enough it worked next day. i really felt like crap and boom i called the office and i was transfered to him again. he talked me through everything again and i felt better. when i looked on the wall i learned that ericson is was in the army. how kick ass is that. a doc that is a vet. ericson is by far one of the coolest doctors ever. and his staff are some of the most beautiful women by far i seen in a doctors office. very sweet and very nice. and he didn't judge me on my weight either read more

Dr. Ericson is one of the best oral surgeons I met!!! The environment is so friendly and he answered all my questions and concerns about having 8 TEETH REMOVED yes!!! all at once!! I got braces last week but before the procedure i was told that I needed to get my 4 wisdom teeth out and 4 more. He followed up with me after surgery during the weekend to make sure I was okay. That says a lot about his personality, very caring about his patients. I am still healing but seems to go well. I really recommend this place!!!! read more
