I had a routine cavity that Dr Chen work on and ended up underestimating how deep it was from the X-ray. She did a botched filling that I had to go in and get fixed and even after that I experienced terrible pain. I couldn't even chew rice. Dr Kleinova even commented how she packed the filling too much. I couldn't even floss without it getting stuck. One day a piece of my tooth came out and I went to the office and Vincent asked me what I did to make that happen. COME ON! When I saw Dr Chen she said there was no hole in my tooth even though I assured her there was. She said it was excess filling. Then a few weeks later when my pain increased dramatically and I couldn't drink or eat on that side without sharp pain, I emailed Vincent and asked if Dr. K could work on the tooth instead and he suggested another dentist. PLEASE IF YOU'RE READING THIS DR. K, COULD YOU PLEASE TAKE ME THIS ONE TIME? I've been suffering with this for over a year now b/c I'm terrified to walk into another office. I know they fired Dr Chen as they should have since she did such a terrible job on multiple patients. I know Dr. K is a great dentist. He patiently adjusted my mom's dentures, making certain that she could take them out and put them back in without problem, and wear the dentures without discomfort. Two days AFTER his appointment, the office called and said that they were considered out-of-network, and that he now owed almost $300. Then the snippy person at the office told him it shouldn't be a big deal because he's always been paying out of pocket. WTAF????? For the record, other than dental work, the most he has paid out of pocket was about $80 when the office started doing xrays twice a year to pad their billing, and his former insurance only paid for xrays once a year. I have been a patient at Sunset Hills Dental as well; they have lost me as well. I have already found another dental practice and will not return to SHDG.

We were very hopeful. Unfortunately, the experience was pretty much a nightmare. I was not allowed to stay with my child during the procedure, even after they repeatedly asked for me. When nitrous was administered, they began crying hard and having trouble breathing. They clearly stated they did not want to continue and wanted to leave. Despite that, multiple staff physically restrained them and told them things like: * "This is going to happen either way." * "You're too old to be acting this way." When I was finally brought back, I found my child still being held down, crying. A staff member whispered to them that if they didn't stop crying, I would be asked to leave again. My child fled the room in tears once they were able to get up. The dentist then told me that they would no longer treat my child, and said that no one in the area would. This was not an emergency procedure. Consent was withdrawn and ignored. I have never seen a healthcare setting handle anxiety this way, especially one claiming to specialize in it. This experience left my child feeling traumatized and afraid to seek dental care again. I hope sharing this helps other parents make informed decisions.

A few months ago, I cracked a tooth while dining at a restaurant late on a Friday. I called the doc's emergency number because I was flying out of town on Sunday. He told me to come in Saturday morning (they are closed on Saturday) and he would check me out. He did and made a temporary fix to my tooth which took the pain away. I went out of town, had no problems and he immediately got me back in to finish the job when I got back in town. BTW: When I went in for my Saturday visit and I asked if I needed to pay him, he said, "Let's get you fixed and we can worry about that later. I think your insurance will cover it. Don't worry."
