Mark was an absolute pleasure to work with from the beginning to the end. We planned our wedding in a little over 2 months which was an absolute nightmare for our stress levels, but we did not have to worry about anything when it came to our photos! Our engagement shoot was located in Laguna Beach and the wedding was located in Newport Beach, CA. We had an engagement shoot with another photographer before that we did not like whatsoever, so we decided to do another one which came with the package we selected from Mark. He was very accommodating from the get-go. He was also very responsive to all of our emails and calls. I was impressed with his level of responsive-ness. This is very critical when planning a wedding with little time to spare. I also really liked his communication style. He listened well and made us feel comfortable in discussing our questions, comments and concerns. I felt like his pricing was very reasonable for his knowledge and quality of work. He sends out a survey to help with understanding the essential shots you need and the style you are going for. He does all the thinking for you so that you don't need to-he is also very gracious in trying to understand your culture/traditions. We had a fusion wedding with American and Iranian elements and he was very respectful in capturing it all. He was able to give us previews of our engagement photos very quickly and we could tell we would already be happy with the wedding photos after seeing these. He has a good eye for angles. He also had great videography skills. We were super happy with our wedding video! He packaged everything in cute boxes and had a lot of nice touches. His packages include many options, but most include large easel print outs, a gorgeous metal frame of your choosing, and photos in a keepsake box. He also has the most up to date equipment and we were able to add a drone to capture the ceremony. He has other photographers and videographers on his crew to help out too. I would highly recommend Mark Laing for any of your photography needs. He is a true professional and has now become a friend. read more

Thank you for being our wedding photographer! Mark is exceptional. The caliber of his work is top-notch and we look forward to enjoying our wedding photos for a lifetime to come all thanks to Mark. read more

Mark is by far the best photographer I've ever met. His photos are amazing and he is a true pleasure to be around, he really felt like one of the family and is super sweet and professional. I was so surprised when he sent us some of our wedding shots only two days after the wedding so we wouldn't have to wait while the others were being edited, they were just breathtaking and he truly captured the moment. Thank you Mark we will be using you again! read more

Mark was an absolute delight to have at our wedding! Our photos came out so perfect. I really wanted to have candid photos more than staged/posed and I couldn't be any happier with what he captured. I'm not the most photogenic nor confident so I hate pictures of myself but the absolute joy mark captured I cant even pick which one I love the most! Aside from the amazing photos I had multiple guests approach me to tell me how much they liked him. He really made our day oh so special and I 1000% recommend him! :) read more

Mark was simply the most fantastic addition to our wedding. Even now, 5 weeks on we think Mark was the most outstanding professional we worked with across our entire wedding experience. Mark is a real people-person. You don't get to be that good unless you have an understanding and affinity for people. Mark's bright, enthusiastic personality and his ability to capture special moments helped make our wedding day a success and captured forever the elegance, excitement and magic of our special day. After our wedding, Mark was wonderfully responsive - our whole family love the beautiful photos and moments he captured. We are left feeling REALLY relieved we found someone like Mark to make our wedding experience unforgettable. :) read more

We booked Mark for our December 22nd wedding in Topanga Canyon, California as our videographer. I chose him after our first meeting. He was wonderfully personable and I was excited to have him around on the big day. He is also wonderfully responsive. Email him right now he'll respond unbelievably fast! On the day he got a ton of great shots and I didn't have to instruct him at all (but I could had I wanted to). The end result was wonderful! He did a great job and clearly spend a lot of time compiling the video. We couldn't be happier, he should have charged us more! read more

A big thank you to Mark for capturing the joy and beauty of our special day in spectacular images and also for being a top notch guy. Wedding planning is tough business, and you don't know what you're going to get in hiring a vendor to help make your day a success. A signed contract does not guarantee great performance. Mark Laing proved to be a sure bet straight away. We didn't meet in person until we walked in the door of our venue in Malibu that bright October day, and Mark was already there scouting the location, prepped and ready to shoot. Mark is a great guy. Gregarious and true, real, and a consummate professional, he immediately put us at ease and made the requisite pre-ceremony photo-ops great fun. We played on the beach and Mark gave us beautiful, natural images with which to forever remember those fleeting moments before we were to become the focus of our guest's attention. And with his images, we are witness to the terrific abundance of joy present in the faces of all who came to celebrate with us. There is a great deal of psychology at play in photographing people. Mark is smart and has a sensitivity that enables a truth to be evident in his work. That is what we wanted, not something posed or stiff. We were thrilled to catch glimpses of the first images so soon after the wedding. We were so lucky, our day felt absolutely perfect, and Mark's photographs confirmed this! We were a hit! read more

Mark photographed our wedding in Calabasas last month and he did an AMAZING job! He captured all of our beautiful moments perfectly. He is extremely professional and worked with our busy schedule. We highly recommend Mark and give him 10+stars!! He responded immediately with any questions we had and had our pictures ready extremely fast. We thank you Mark for everything you did! read more

I can't say enough good things about Mark. He is kind, professional, courteous, and so pleasant and easy to work with. And so TALENTED! We hired Mark last minute to tape a family event and what he delivered was above and beyond our expectations. We are planning to renew our vows next year and are looking forward to using Mark again for our photographs/video. Thanks for everything, Mark! read more

I went to Mark for some headshots and they turned out great. He was very accommodating and got them done quick when I needed them for a deadline. I think the real testament to his skill is that he somehow managed to make me look ridiculously handsome in the headshots which is a feat of photography. Now if only we could get that to work in real life! I have him coming out to my business next week to do headshots for the entire company and he's made that process really easy as well. read more

We are so happy that we had Mark for our big day!! We hired Mark to take video of our wedding on 8/20/16. We had already secured photographers, and only decided to add video pretty last minute (about a month before the big day). Mark was very responsive via email (given that we live out of state from the wedding/Mark) and his prices are reasonable. We liked his work that we found online, and are thrilled that we chose him! Not only were the final products amazing and fast (he got us a sneak peek video within days of the wedding!), he was so warm, kind, happy and fun to speak with. Our family even told us how kind he was and love the videos as well! I don't know what else to say that hasn't already been said by so many other reviews. If you are looking for a photographer or videographer, this is the guy! read more

We are so so glad we had Mark for our engagement photos, and both our small intimate wedding ceremony and large family/friends ceremony and reception! Our overall theme was "under the stars" and so we did our engagement photos at Griffith Observatory. The photos came out amazing and we had so much fun. We used the photos for our Save the Dates and wedding website. The photos and videos from our two ceremonies came out beautiful and the video gave a chance to family who couldn't make the wedding to experience our happy day. Mark sent us prints of our photos and copies of all the pictures and videos in a beautiful and personalized box with matching personalized usbs. Thanks again Mark for being such a great part of our day! read more

You will never work with another photographer again after hiring Mark Laing. Mark is not only an extremely creative and talented photographer, he is also very professional and totally reliable. Our family hired Mark for photography and video services on two separate occasions; my son's bar mitzvah and my daughter's bat mitzvah. Mark over-delivered on both occasions. Judging from the quality of the finished product (photos and video edits), he put far more time into completing the work than is reasonable for the modest fee he charges. As a bonus, Mark is personable and a fun addition to the party! read more

Mark has taken our family portraits twice in 2011, and is scheduled to take our next portraits this upcoming November. He's willing to travel to your favorite locations - we've picked a different spot each time in order to illustrate some of our favorite places we like to spend as a family. We love how he captures the creative side of our family - the laughter, the fun, the emotions, and the real time that defines us as a family. He works great with children and adults, making everyone feel comfortable. Every photo he takes is beautiful and tells a story. We always have a difficult time deciding which photos to hang on our walls, send to our family, and use on our annual holiday greeting cards. We highly recommend him. He's so much fun to work with!!! You will not be disappointed in his great service, creative ability, and sense of humor! read more

I was shopping around for a good photographer to cover my kid's 1st birthday. Upon checking yelp reviews, packages/rates offered and going through their individual work, we decided to go ahead with Mark and are extremely happy with that decision. From the start, he came across as extremely warm, approachable, kind human being, and of course, extremely professional. After the event, he was also super quick at sharing the pictures/short video. I am extremely picky about pictures, difficult to please and hey did Mark deliver?! Of course. In fact, he exceeded our expectations. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good photographer and not willing to compromise on the quality. He will not disappoint. read more

Mark was such an amazing photographer. He was attentive and made us comfortable from the moment we met him. Mark listened to us on how we wanted our photos to look, such as, more natural lighting and not too "posey". The day of our wedding, we received so many compliments on his demeanor...he was like one of our guests in the fact that he was like family. He was always smiling and encouraging fun photos. I would recommend Mark to anyone who is interested in a photographer. He also did our vidoeography, which made me and my husband cry from laughter as well as we felt the love. I cannot wait to hang the beautiful photos in our home. Thanks Mark for allowing us to have beautiful memories printed throughout our home. read more

Mark is a talented, incredibly nice and extremely professional photographer. He was at the venue early, captured tons of beautiful shots, and had absolutely no ego when it came to my suggestions. I hired Mark to capture a henna party hosted at my house, and by the end of the night I knew he would be my family's new go-to photographer. Mark is so so responsive, respectful, and easy to work with. And his prices are also very reasonable too. My family and I really appreciated that Mark came early to capture all of the guests' arrivals. He was dressed in a beautiful black suit and totally blended in with all the other guests. My family and I feel like the photos he took at the party are magazine-worthy; they are that amazing. He is just so great at capturing raw emotion and sweet, special moments. We also loved how quickly he was able to return the photos to us. We got them back within a few days. Once Mark was done, according to the time allotted in the contract, we asked him to stay and hang out with us because we enjoyed him that much. He's just a genuine, good guy and added such a warm and happy energy to the day. He also makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, which is so important for a photographer. I can't recommend him enough. Mark, thank you for everything. I can't wait to have you capture my wedding portraits and our family Christmas photos!! read more

We booked Mark for our recent Mission Hills wedding at the beginning of this month. The pictures are spectacular! The true essence of our feelings truly show in every shot! We are completely satisfied with the beautiful work Mark did. Absolutely Beautiful work! Thank you Mark for the memory of a lifetime. read more

Mark Laing is a fantastic professional photographer. He gave me what I requested and much more, which made it difficult to select the "perfect" picture for my book cover. Mark made the photo shoot social, fun, exciting and I became comfortable in front of the camera. I was impressed with the turn-around time of my pictures, it was incredibly fast. I highly recommend him as your photographer - you will enjoy the Mark Laing Photography Experience! read more

So many great things about Mark. His pictures are awesome. I would definitely hire Mark again for another event. read more

Mark was absolutely amazing and we were very happy that we chose him to do our videography for our wedding in July. He is extremely professional and very responsive. I think I lost count of how many emails I sent him after the first week and he responded to each one to answer all my questions. He makes time for each of his clients regardless of how busy he may be. You would be surprised how many vendors don't! By the time we decided to book Mark for our Videography, Mark was all booked up for the whole summer, and he still was able to make time to do our event! The videography was amazing and he gives you the raw footage, edited version and the montage and it was great to have all three! He made copies without me even asking, and stayed in touch throughout after the event to see what songs we wanted to add in the edited version and the montage. Great work, extreme professionalism, totally would recommend him for your event! read more

We booked Mark for our April 2013 wedding aboard the Scarlett Belle in Oxnard, CA and we could not have been more happy with him! My husband wanted a photographer with a photojournalist look to his pictures and fun candid shots and Mark really fit the bill. He was very flexible with us and explored fun ideas for wedding shots. Sure we got the regular posed pictures but Mark also got some amazing gems that were candid and unplanned (by us anyway). Not only were the wedding pictures amazing but also Mark was the nicest person to work with. He fit in quite well with both of our families and everyone (especially my dad) loved him. I definitely thought I would feel awkward with some guy following me around with a camera all day but Mark made it very easy and comfortable to be a bride! He really did and excellent job in every way! I highly recommend him as your wedding photographer! read more

Mark Laing is the best photographer in Los Angeles. I have worked in the entertainment business for years and dealt with many photographers-- yet none as personable who takes such great time and care on the most important day of ones life. Our pictures and the wedding video were exactly what we dreamed of.. he captured the most magical moments without us even knowing. And almost two years after our wedding when my computer crashed--losing all my wedding pics-- Mark saved the day again. I also, recently had a baby and had Mark take my pregnancy shots...another big win. We will use Mark for every important event in our life. What a gem! I remember being a bride trying to find the best of the best in this city... Mark Laing-you have found the best there is.Thanks Mark!! read more
