Jeff changed my life…read more I have a severe Blood-injection-injury type phobia. I haven't had blood drawn or an IV for over 40 years. A few months ago, I was struggling with some health issues and found out I would need surgery, which would include multiple blood draws and an IV for surgery. It was literally my worst nightmare. I found Jeff through a friend who is also a therapist. Jeff has a very nice office and was great at communicating ahead of time. I was doubtful therapy would help but it was literally my only choice, so I tried it. Jeff took the time to get to know me. He suggested some therapy techniques and a path towards my end goal (getting blood drawn and surgery). Jeff was great at figuring out what worked best for me. He knew what questions to ask. He is patient and really put me at ease. He guided me through treatment. He wasn't afraid to change course if something wasn't working for me. Jeff gave me the tools and confidence to get through this. I had my blood drawn twice over the past month and had surgery last week. Therapy can be hard to go to, due to shame or the stigma around mental health. It's so often…read moresomething that is talked about in hushed tones. For a very long time, I was told I didn't need therapy because "I had a good life", but only you can make that determination for yourself. It's important that the motivation to come to therapy comes from you, as it creates a willingness to be more open about receiving feedback and the work you do in the therapy setting. In the time that I've been working with him, Johnathon has helped me work through difficult experiences and the way I view myself. When you've spent so much time around people that try to define who you are and what you should be, a more neutral perspective is welcoming. It's extremely profound for my feelings to be validated. Letting ourselves feel emotion instead of suppressing it is vital to moving towards better mental health, and Johnathon created a safe environment to do so, despite my own desire to "get back to normal" or feel a more positive emotion quicker. Sometimes, therapy can feel rigid or impersonal, but sessions with him feel very different from that. Johnathon gets to truly know the way his clients think and feel, and that is signficant. When you're in a session, it feels welcoming and open. You're allotted a moment to orient yourself in the space instead of feeling pressured to come up with a topic of conversation immediately. This is truly client-focused therapy, which is significantly different from previous therapists I've seen, who have a different approach of asking many questions upon their client's arrival. That may work for some, and it can be helpful, but to be put in the position of coming up with my own topics for each session, it helps me determine what is truly important, and what speaks to me the most on any given day. Priorities can change, and that's perfectly okay. Therapy can also take a financial toll if it's outside of one's budget, and I applaud Johnathon for working with me on pricing. The cost of living has gone up significantly for many of us, so being able to afford therapy and come to a compromise on the pricing made it easier to make the commitment to better myself. When I called Dr. Neda, I didn't know what to expect but when I started to work with him, I realize that he is very caring, and empathetic, and has a lot of experience. I caution anyone who is considering hiring Christine Golden at OC Psychology Center. Ms Golden…read moreexacerbated my children's anxiety they were experiencing as a result of a divorce and teamed up with my ex-wife to advocate on her behalf throughout the case. By the time I figured out that she was contributing to my family's destruction it was too late. She and the children and my ex had become emotionally attached and the court viewed that as a positive thing. She regularly reported me to CPS for emotional and physical abuse and each investigation concluded that there was no evidence to substantiate the report and that the Ms Golden was mis-informed. My ex then used Ms. Golden's unsubstantiated reports in family court to restrict my custody time. Yes, you are guilty until proven innocent in family court, something my ex's attorney (also female) knew quite well. It was a well orchestrated attack on an unsuspecting father, using and manipulating my children for their own emotional and financial gain. I never knew humanity to stoop so low, all under the guise of 'the best interest of the child' as advocated by family court. When discussing one particular report of abuse, Ms Golden told me "the truth of [my son's] allegation doesn't matter. What matters is what [my son] FEELS the truth is." This confirmed my suspicions developed over the preceding 6 months. The actual truth is that Ms. Golden had no experience working with children in a high conflict divorce, she had no parenting experience of her own, and she was unlicensed at the time she recommended weekly therapy. Her therapeutic experience is with young adults suffering from trauma. She applied this experience to my children (8 and 9) and offered separate 'parenting sessions' to me and my ex, totaling 4 sessions a week. I quickly opted out recognizing her 'therapy' only as a scam and a way to further separate me from my children. My ex on the other hand used Ms Golden masterfully to obtain the 'expert' testimony she needed to obtain full custody. I find it horrifically ironic that in my case the people making accusations of abuse (Ms. Golden and my ex) were same people stoking chaos and subjecting my children to the chaos that created their anxiety to begin with. And rather than help my children understand that they have a loving father and their relationship with him is important, Ms Golden did the exact opposite. Ms Golden obviously lacks the therapeutic, ethical, and parental foundation that any well meaning parent would seek for their child's psychologist. Your child's mind is sacred ground that should be protected against therapists like Ms. Golden.

I reached out to Dr Montgomery regarding my son who is suffering from anxiety. We live out of town…read morebut was willing to drive to find a good doctor. Dr Montgomery called me the same day and spent 20-30 mins discussing my son and learning about our situation. After spending that time with me he explained that it made sense for us to see someone closer to us given it would be ongoing care. Despite that, he sat on the phone with me and helped research doctors in my area. After we hung up he sent a follow up email with resources (doctors, books, etc). I can tell he is a dedicated and caring doctor and if we lived closer I would definitely come see him!
