Probably the more important question I ask clients: “Who did you start out as before people and circumstances told you otherwise?” I believe you are more than your labeled struggles. The issues that bring a person to see me can come from a lack of understanding, but more often are symptomatic of someone who has lost contact with the amazing person they are created to be. Our work is not just to address the issues or symptoms that caused you to reach for help, but to uncover and equip for what you are made to be. For over 25 years I’ve been holding sanctuary space for people to be curious and more honest with themselves, and seeing the freedom and thriving that comes as a result.
Whether you are in a crisis moment or simply want to extract the most out of yourself and life, I can help get you to the next level of YOU.
History
Established in 2011.
After graduating with Honors from a five year extended undergraduate psychology program, I was accepted into a rigorous 5 year doctoral training program at Rosemead School of Psychology on the campus of Biola University. The intensive program is one of the leaders in the integration of psychology and theology, and one of just a handful that is also accredited by the American Psychological Association. It also included a year working and training at Stony Brook University in New York. After achieving licensure as a clinical psychologist, something only about 10% of therapists attain, I’ve continued with ongoing training and personal development, all in service of finding effective and efficient ways to help you achieve your goals in therapy. Along the way I started a new branch location of a group therapy practice in 2000 before launching my own private practice, The Relation Foundation, in 2011.
Meet the Business Owner: Greg K.
When we meet, I think you’ll notice a few things I’ve heard from clients in the past. First, I’m fairly unassuming. I may have extensive education and experience, but I’ve made some of the same mistakes and had struggles similar to many who walk through my office door. Out of those situations I’ve learned and grown with the help of others. So I have a pretty good idea of what you may be going through, and also what I believe will help, not just as a therapist but as a fellow human being. Second, you’ll also find someone who is quick to listen, learn and adapt to what you need as a partner in this process as we journey toward your goals. One size definitely does not fit all with socks nor in a therapy process. On a side note, you may also notice the occasional Canadian accent, since that’s where I grew up, but you most certainly will notice that I’m a huge F1 car race fan (don’t even get me started about McLaren this year).
