When I called and left a hasty voice mail after not being able to speak with a live person about my issue, I was called back by an older woman and chastised for speaking too quickly in the voicemail. The woman made a point to lecture me on it instead of asking how she could help me when she returned my call. She spoke to me like I was a child and not an adult customer. She showed very little concern over my actual issue of where and why my flower delivery was unaccounted for. I've never experienced this before, anywhere, and I've worked in the customer service field for 20 years. The quality of their floral work is high, but I will not be giving them any future business, as other florists in the area behave much more professionally and I don't need the added drama of a business who doesn't understand how to keep customers from feeling like a burden.

It can be so hard to order a bouquet from a florist you don't know in a city you don't live in (as I did); I often submit to dated looking, cookie cutter, FTD bouquets that are nothing more than sufficient. I could have ordered online but with flowers, I'd rather talk to someone. The person who answered the phone said they didn't have that many purple flowers and then thought to call their other store. The answer was yes, purple flowers could be had. I ordered and paid. Very good service and very pleasant interaction, but also going the extra mile to get me what I wanted. I went to the viewing tonight and the bouquet in a ginger jar was gorgeous, fresh, and many shades of purple, including some unusual long lasting flowers and a beautiful variety of mum, plus pretty white accent flowers with purple throats. I was impressed (I come from a florist industry background). Much nicer than the other flowers that were there. Sometimes funeral flowers are not the best quality. This was the first time I used A Cut Above Florist but it most certainly will not be my last! The bouquet was delivered on time and it was absolutely beautiful - my Aunt LOVED them! I purchased the "bouquet of the day" and it was a huge arrangement of all sorts of fresh, beautiful, spring flowers with lots of baby's breath and fern. I wanted to get some cut flowers to take home and arrange myself (I worked in my father's floral shop prior to moving to MA). I had shopped around at multiple grocery stores without finding cut flowers that matched the quality and price I was looking for. Everything was either of poor quality or way too expensive for the type of stems I was looking at. What I purchased: I bought (3) stems of pink lilies, (3) snapdragon stems and (5) alstromeria stems. The florist threw in some eucalyptus greens and other filler (I assume for free), wrapped it in decorative paper and plastic, then finished it off with a bow. Price: $34, including tax. This is slightly higher than what I was looking to pay for loose cut flowers, but the quality has proven worth it. I've had the flowers for about a week, and have had multiple lily blooms open. Staff: the florist/shop owner was very polite, great conversationalist. I did have to wait a few minutes until she got back because the woman who was working there did not know how to charge for and wrap the floral items. My only recommendation is to have someone present (during business hours) who can do simple loose cut bouquets (not even arrangements). Everyone was super polite and made me feel at home. As a note, getting into the parking lot can be a bit of a hassle as the cross-traffic never seems to stop. Overall, a great place for a bouquet of flowers, either for a special occasion or just a pick-me-up for the day.
