If I could give ZERO stars for Dr. Anup Naik and his practice, I would. BUT, if you like:…read more 1) Dentists and their staff to watch TV while they're poking and prodding in your mouth with sharp objects - then this place is for you. 2) Dental practices who play with numbers to screw the insurance companies - then this place is for you. 3) Dentists who tell you "It'll only take an hour, tops", but then keep you there over 4 hours - then this is the place for you. 4) Dentists who have no idea what they're doing outside of a routine cleaning, and compromise healthy teeth in the process of their mouth construction - then this is the place for you. I am disgusted with Dr. Naik and believe most of these positive reviews are fake. I know others who have had bad experiences as well. This practice is both unethical and inconsiderate and there are certainly better places to go for treatment. Sorry, but it's true. And this review is based on my personal and unfortunate experiences here.

I don't love going to the dentist in general, but they made a huge impression. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to doctor's appointments and they truly made me feel welcome and comfortable. If I could give them specifically 5 stars I absolutely would. The negative: I had an early morning appointment for an exam and cleaning where Tara took all my new patient X-rays and photos, but she informed me Dr. Naik was having some car difficulties and would not be in until later. Luckily my work schedule is pretty flexible, so I was able to come back later that same day. I'm pretty understanding when it comes to unexpected delays, everyone has those days, but after looking at some of the other reviews it seems Dr. Naik has a record of missing early morning appointments, so I'm inclined to think he was just late. That said, during my visit I found Dr. Naik incredibly engaging and although a little surprised by the amount of work he said was necessary, including multiple crowns and fills, I left trusting his professional opinion that this work was absolutely needed to avoid more serious and expensive dental work like veneers. That said, my parents urged me to get a second opinion at their dentist as multiple crowns seemed extreme for a 22yr old who takes care of their teeth, even if they'd missed a cleaning or two. I just got that second opinion today and there is over a $1500 difference less in the work I need done and no crowns involved. In fact one of the teeth Dr. Naik marked for a crown was flagged as only a watch by the dentist I visited today. Again looking at other reviews on google and yelp this seems a recurring experience. My suggestion to Dr. Naik: you might make more money by focusing on client rentention through transparency and honesty rather than handing someone a huge bill and hoping they'll take you at your word.

Tuesday, 11/16, my crown came off while I was chewing gum; luckily I was able to save the crown from the gum or me swallowing it. I called 21st Century and Jordan set me up for an appt on Wednesday with Jason. While Jason was examing the crown & the area it came off he discovered that the crown was cracked & had a small piece missing. After some x-rays and consultation with Dr. Bristol we decided it was best to have a new crown made & a temporary one put in. So impressions were made & the work began while working on the area for the crown Br Bristol noticed that the tooth in front of the area had a cavity so she asked me if we should take care of it & I agreed. So cavity taken care of & filled; new crown ordered & temporary crown in. Whew! Yes, there was some nitrous oxide involved but everything ended well!! Thanks again Dr. Bristol, Jason & Jordan!!! I will see you December 8th for my permanent crown.

Today, it was like the dentist knew none of this. They just repeated what the previous dentist had done. And the amount I was charged, was completely different from the quote. Yes, I brought it up politely, but they never addressed the problem, just repeated the amount owed and expected payment. No discussion. They sent a 'treatment plan' that had absolutely no mention of treatment, just a lump sum, and something to sign to indicate how we'd pay for it. And their prices were NOT reasonable. Clearly, profit is all that matters here. To top it off, the dentist was not someone with whom I felt confident. They failed in every possible way. Please don't respond with fake apologies like "I'm so sorry you feel that way." It's meaningless and insults the readers' intelligence.

A couple of Veneers needed rebonding (again) in which case I had no choice but to seek assistance with a new dentist. During these COVID times I was really reluctant on a visit to say the least. My initial call to the office set me at ease. The staff there are friendly and professional. Dr. Hoang was able to see me the next day and the pre-visit protocols they have in place made me feel less anxious about my appointment. Dr. Hoang is an extremely competent dentist who knows his business! During the rebonding process he explained to me everything he was preforming. He also explained what was the cause and potential alternative solutions. I thought my previous long time dentist was good, Dr. Hoang made me realize how not so good my previous dentist was. Unfortunately, I've had this procedure done many times before and I can say Dr. Hoang was a heck of a lot more through and detailed oriented in his approach. From start to finish he really did exceed my expectations. Kudos to Dr. Hoang and his staff! A very satisfied customer.

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Dental Concepts during my Invisalign…read morefollow-up appointment. This was my first follow-up since receiving my Invisalign trays about 2 to 3 months ago. When I arrived, I was told that I was supposed to bring my Invisalign boxes back to every appointment. No appointment reminder stated this, and I was not given a clear written handout at my initial appointment explaining what was required for future Invisalign visits. This was especially frustrating because at the end of my first Invisalign appointment, I specifically suggested that the office provide patients with a handout outlining Invisalign expectations, including what to bring to appointments. That would have prevented this entire situation. Instead, I drove through Dallas traffic, wasted my time, and arrived for an appointment that could not move forward because of information that was not clearly communicated. The staff member who initially spoke with me did not speak English clearly, and I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. This is not about attacking anyone personally, but clear communication is important when patients are receiving treatment instructions. When I later expressed this concern to the office manager, Catia, she made excuses and stated that clear English was not required. That completely missed the point. Patients need to be able to understand instructions related to their care. When I became upset and asked for the doctor, an assistant was sent in instead. I explained that I did not need to speak with her and asked again for the doctor, but she continued trying to talk to me even after I asked her to stop. Dr. Barnes eventually came in and was not rude, but instead of fully listening to my concerns, the focus was placed on the fact that the instruction was supposedly "on the box." Having something printed on a box is not a substitute for clear instructions, a written handout, or an appointment reminder telling patients what they need to bring. My biggest issue was with the office manager, Catia. When I spoke with her about my refund and explained that the office should add a reminder message for Invisalign patients to bring their boxes back, her response was dismissive and sarcastic. She said maybe I could show them how to do it since she was not IT. I told her that it was not my job to fix their office's communication issues. I also reiterated the importance of providing a handout at the end of the initial appointment so patients know what is expected. At that point, Catia asked me to leave. I told her I was leaving anyway and that there was no need to imply that she was putting me out. She then stated that they did not have to "baby" me with a handout. That comment was extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and unnecessary. A written handout is not "babying" a patient. It is basic patient communication and customer service. To make matters worse, another staff member, a white female employee, attempted to confront me about the way I was speaking to Catia instead of focusing on how the office had failed to communicate basic Invisalign instructions. At that point, I had already asked Catia to stop talking to me and to process my refund. I told the employee to get out of my face because I did not need another staff member escalating the situation or inserting herself into an already tense interaction. I also changed to this office after following a Black dentist, but I rarely saw her after becoming a patient. As a Black patient, that felt disappointing and misleading, almost like a bait and switch to attract more Black patients without actually providing the relationship or care experience I expected. Dr. Barnes was not rude, and Dr. Narav Patel was not rude either, but the overall office experience, communication, and handling of my concerns were unacceptable. Catia's attitude and comments escalated the situation instead of helping resolve it. I will not be returning, Upload photo

They don't waste your time by making you wait, if you're there early they will even try to get you in early. Very convenient. They are in my insurance network so that is a plus as well. Also, the fact that they make their own crowns ON SITE prevents multiple visits. So the crown is being made while you are in the chair! Def a plus as most dentist offices ship out the crowns to be made. Most people are terrified of shots, they make it so easy...it's not painful AT ALL. Literally a PINCH if that. They numb you up and use some device that vibrates while they give you the shot so you don't feel it. It's AMAZING. I would and have referred this office to many others.

The dental hygienist who performed my cleaning/exam laughed at me while providing care, which felt disrespectful and uncomfortable. This resulted in me paying out of pocket unnecessarily. I hope the office can review these processes to help ensure a smoother experience for patients in the future.

She laughed and said "don't worry I'll put it on when I do the filling." Because this is a health risk for me, I gathered my belongings and left. When I spoke to the receptionist I told her I was leaving the practice because the dentist was negligent. When I said that I've been self-isolating for the last seven months and that this is the first exposure I've had, and that I thought it was unacceptable, the receptionist commented that I'd been self-isolating so long that I'd become paranoid. She pointed out all of the tartar on my teeth showing in the X-ray and took a second set after the cleaning to make sure she got all of the spots. Super thorough and very impressed with that. A few problems I had: 1. They asked if I wanted fluoride, which is not covered on insurance, but did not inform me of how much that would cost before I said yes. So ended up paying $30 extra even though I was not informed of that beforehand. (Kinda like when you ask for an extra side of ranch at a restaurant and it shows up on your bill at the end of the meal). 2. After my appointment was over, I went to reschedule and it turned out that they were not in my network for my insurance (which I submitted my insurance info several months ago when I made my appointment), which I swore I checked on that ahead of time, but I guess I didn't. I know they are not REQUIRED to inform their patients of this detail, but it would have been nice to have known BEFORE my appointment that I was going to have to pay extra for their services. Due to those two issues, I do feel a little taken advantage of. Seems like if they were a reputable organization and cared about not only their patients dental health but also financial health, they would inform their patients of their coverage BEFORE they do the service. If this dentist is IN your network, do yourself a favor and make the appointment! They did an amazing job with my teeth and I felt really taken care of, until the end, when I realized they didn't inform me that they were out of network for me (which usually means they get more money out of it)
