I was a new patient who never had the chance of making a first appointment because the customer service regarding reminder calls and voicemail messages were never left. When I called to ask about this, they gave me the reason that they have different numbers and they don't know why a message wasn't left.. this happened twice with appointments. I had set up until finally I realized this was not the office for me because Customer Service is everything it's the front door so if they serviced this way, I just don't know what to think about how the doctors then serve their patients at this office. read more

I have been a patient in this office for at least 20 years and have never laid eyes on Dr. Mark Brooks. I have seen Chris every time and he has been great. I have tried calling the office on numerous occasions to make an appointment and no one answers the phone and it does not go to voicemail. I have never met Dr. Mark Brooks and I am considering changing primary care doctors to one that when I call on the phone that they actually answer it. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Mark Brooks for several years. Over the last 2 years there have been ongoing communication issues with staff such as missing appointments and lab orders not being placed. Staff has also been very unprofessional and rude in person and on the phone. Today I had my annual check-up with Dr. Mark Brooks scheduled. I called several weeks prior to confirm I would in fact be seeing Dr. Brooks and was assured I was seeing him. Last week when I showed up to Quest to do my labs prior to my visit, my order was never sent in and I had to sit on hold for 30 minutes with Dr. Brooks office in order get them to send it over. It was at the end of that call I was casually told that my appointment was with an NP named Kylie and my appointment time had been moved by nearly an hour. Due to the last minute change I kept the appointment as I had prescriptions that needed refilling and I was told that it would be months to try and get another appointment with Dr. Brooks. Today I was brought back on-time for my appointment at 2:00 PM with Kylie but then left sitting in a cold exam room for more than 40 minutes. The office was dead silent to the point that after 30 minutes sitting in the exam room I had to step outside and make sure someone was there and that they hadn't forgotten about me. This type of treatment is unacceptable. The medical staff had zero respect for me or my time. If Dr. Brooks isn't going to see his patients it should be clearly communicated by his office in advance. Based on a conversation with one of the staff this is a pattern and patients keep getting placed with Kylie. She was the one person that understood my frustration, so that's something. I am very disappointed with how Dr. Brooks and his office handled the situation. Obviously, I will be finding a new PCP so I won't have to experience this again next year! read more

Thank you to the wonderful workers who spent a great deal of their day working with me , my problem was solved. I would like to especially thank Venus and the the two receptionist who helped me although it was not their scheduling " job". I apologize that I can not remember their name. keep far from this place... the staff is trassssssshhhhh one set of lazy inconsiderate individuals. they should not be dealing with humans much less animals... i've been trying to get established as a new patient since january we're now in march and nothing.. i call leave messages call leave messages until i had to physically go up there and try not to crash out.. they need customer service training they lack compassion etc.. i shouldve check the reviews to see abouy them before going but i was like its in the orlando health hospital it should be fine.. kmt no it was not.. i went there and the girl i spoke to first appears to be nice and when i told her what im there for her body language told a story... she them told me she was new so i said ok let me get your supervisor. then oh their on lunch im sure that was a lie then some other chic came over and started talking so i proceeded to ask how long will it be before i get seen as a new patient oh she doesnt know well if you dont know who will???????? i told her they're unprofessional and lazy... and the reason i went was because i had keyword had a appointment coming up on the 13th which was canceled because the inaging center even tried calling and they dont answer their phone.. like wth you're not even busy.. so i lost my ultrasound appointment thanks to you folks in dr.brooks office.. i read the reviews and expeditiously found me a new dr did my homework and guess what already scheduled. shame on you people.. would you want a dr office staff to treat you or your family that way?????? i bet not.. do better in life.. because this is not it read more

See below: First, I need to say that I am a professional nurse of 40 years (RN)...I have seen many, many things in my years of professional and vocational years: but never what I saw coming out of the Ocoee office of Dr. Mark G. Brooks, MD; from two of their doctors (Dr. Ian Figeroa and Dr. Mark G. Brooks). It is with heavy heart, that I post these facts and actions that occurred at the Brooks Family Practice in regard to my newly disabled adult daughter who is 34 years old. Note: I also LOVE the Orlando Health Hospital System: and this was in the Orlando Health System. Fact: She came out of a 6-week hospitalization and ICU stay with an injury due to low oxygen in the ICU, which caused a drop foot, lower leg weakness, and bladder issues. She went from active ambulation, driving a car, and being independent; to needing a walker to walk, a brace for her drop foot, and having balance issues. She can no longer drive on her own (as of now). She is now living with us. Fact: Neither of the doctors would order physical therapy for her, (quote from a nurse who worked for them, to my daughter): "You will never get better: so therefore, we will not order PT for you." Really? Are they God, who can say whether a patient will get better? With time, and motivation? Fact: Neither doctor would order a TENS unit (electrical stimulation that helps reconnect severed nerves, and helps with her spasms and pain), because "it won't help." (It is an electrical unit with electrodes, that research has proven releases muscle spasms, helps pain, and sometimes can encourage severed nerve to reconnect.) Fact: Neither doctor would order a referral for her to see a neurologist, to assess whether her drop foot could improve, with time, and to see what needs to be done, to assist her to become more independent and healthy again. Fact: They refused to write ANY new orders, or referrals for her to assist in getting this 34-year-old back on the right side of health and recovery. Fact: They told us they would not write ANY referrals for my daughter, as she would not improve.!! (Once again: who are they to make this decision? As a nurse, I've seen that spirit and determination: time and time again: win over physicians prediction of "they can't get better!" Fact: We left the practice, despite our requests, and desire to stay with them. They refused to order any new orders or refer daughter out to outside specialists. Summary: If you are looking at this group...please reconsider. They do not appear to be patient-centered, or open to their patients needing referrals to specialists. As a professional nurse: I have NEVER, EVER seen this sort of thing! Physicians take a Hippocratic oath: and SHOULD BE focused on achieving and finding the best possible care for ALL of their patients! read more

Dr. Brooks is kind compassionate & cares! His office staff have been wonderful. He is my parents primary care provider- he sits & talks to you- he does not rush out the door. We have been lucky and not had to wait very long for apts. very happy here & as a primary care provider (which they do not know I am) I highly recommend. Being denied referral for an urgent jaw exam with no explanation and consistently unable to get appointments resulting in urgent care or ER visits is a ridiculous way to run a primary care dr office read more

My brother and I have made numerous calls to this office to get a specific code changed on the referral for a podiatrist for my elderly mother. We have left messages for Denise for over 2 months. She has yet to follow through. I have had to cancel two appointments with the podiatrist because Denise did not do what she said she would. I have called and left messages for Denise and was told they don't have an office manager at the moment. I even tried to speak with Dr. Brooks since his name is on this office but was told I could leave him a message. So, I guess Denise can only work if she is micro-managed. read more

I'm courteous and respectful of people's time. I would like that in return especially in a place of business. My appointment was at 10:30am. I arrived 20 minutes prior hoping to be seen earlier. No that was not the case. I get called back at 11am only to have to wait another 30minutes in the room to be seen by the ARNP. This is ridiculous. I stopped coming to Dr. Brooks office 6 years ago because it was a new NP every 6 months to a year. How can you build a rapport that way. Now the time I have to wait to see the NP is crazy. This office has a serious communication issues. I have a zero copay and was not informed of charges prior to me before tests were preformed in office. Today because at first I told them I was unable to make a payment due to virus and wife losing her job. They made me wait 30 minutes in waiting room and then I waited another 10 minutes after Tara was done with my vitals to see the doctor. Of course as far as I can tell the doctor doesn't see anyone. The PA's are nice enough but they are not doctors and every time you ask them something they have to go ask the doctor. They lied to me when they told me I said I would pay in full before my next visit. I waited an additional 10 minutes at the check out desk trying to make a 25$ payment towards that enormous bill of $118.00. Unfortunately you lost the best Doctor at the practice, Dr.Garcia and now I have to look for another primary doctor because I won't be treated like this ever again. Terrible doctors office on so many levels!! Every time I come here I get a different doctor and to get anywhere it's like pulling teeth or an act of Congress. Every appointment I come to, there is always an outstanding bill even though I pay in full every time I come. And after coming here for a couple years I have finally decided to leave after what happened today. They refuse to sign my FMLA paperwork for anxiety issues. Apparently spending 40 days in a psychiatric ward does not qualify for having anxiety issues (despite prescribing me medication for anxiety). The most unbelievable part? They made this decision before even reviewing my history from a previous hospital. Look elsewhere for your medical needs. They do not care about your physical or mental health. I just sign up as a new patient (January 2021) as I was seeking a male physician that graduated from an American University and medical school. Hard to find these days... However, I should have read the reviews because my first impression and contact with the office wasn't very good. I don't know who does the credentialing for Humana, but they might want to ask a few more questions. Can you imagine my surprise when I was told that I have to wait 3 months to see the doctor? I don't base my decision on a medical practice based on who has the best PA's or medial assistants, I choose the doctor. So if you want to see a doctor, this is not the practice for you. I'm basically throwing away 3 months of premium, because he won't see me for months. read more

Dr Brooks has no bedside manner. He is rude, sarcastic, and uncaring. During a visit, he will not examine you. You need to speak very slowly in order for him to understand you. I've used this practice for 10 years and mainly saw an NP who was more knowledgeable than Dr Brooks, or she appeared to be more knowledgeable . She left the practice so I then saw Dr Brooks and Garcia. Dr Brooks will only address 1 item during a visit and then you will have to wait another 6 months to see him. If you need to make an appointment with him in between, forget it. You will see an NP. There are current changes in this office and there is a very large turnover. Dr. Garcia recently joined the practice. He is young and caring but not knowledgeable.....as he ordered the wrong test for me and if ended in an emergency that wasn't an emergency.
