I have had two root canals there and my wife (Irina) had one this morning. They have a very pleasant atmosphere, the staff is very kind and caring. And most importantly, they are the most referred Enodontist practice in the western Denver Metro area. If you have to have a root canal - we would both highly recommend using Red Rocks Endodontics LLC.

I have dental anxiety (don't we all) but they made sure to make it a great experience so thank you all. This is not a perfect 5 star review simply because of my checkout experience. They do not tell you ahead of time they do not take a payment plan, or at check-in either. And they also expect you to pay hundreds of dollars (after your insurance doesn't cover much like usual) before walking out the door. Not everyone has extra money laying around, especially with how bad the economy is nowadays. Glad I have a credit card for moments like this but still, it's pretty disappointing. Prepare to foot the rest of the bill after whatever you get done here!

Luckily, Dr. Swankhouse and her team were great. They got me in quickly and made the experience as painless as possible for a dental procedure. Dr. Swankhouse is great at explaining her medical recommendation in layman's terms. I explained to her my dental history and concerns. She, in turn, took the time to do a thorough exam and give me well thought out recommendations. Good dentists have to be good mind readers because its so hard to talk during a dental procedure! Dr. Swankhouse so far is one of the best. Ever time I asked to pause the procedure she new exactly what I needed - a break, readjustment, suction. Oh and the amenities. Yes amenities at a dental office. I was offered (and took full advantage of) a Kindle and headphones to listen to music during the procedure, MASSAGE CHAIR, and a lavender hand towel to freshen up when they were done. Don't worry the massage chair is very subtle. Just enough to relax and distract you from the actual dental work. Lastly, pristine cleanliness. Always important for a dental office but especially now. Quick medical screening and temperature check, appropriate use of PPE, screen guards for check in/out, lots of hand san and hand washing. I felt very safe here. Summary: Great attention to detail, focus on comfort, extremely clean, kind and professional.

I came in concerned about a tooth issue and tried to engage positively and conversationally, but throughout the appointment I felt repeatedly corrected, talked down to, and shamed rather than educated. For example, when discussing when a crown had been replaced, I casually referred to it as "a couple years ago" and said it was done in 2022. Instead of simply clarifying the timeline, he repeatedly focused on correcting me ("that's four years") until I acknowledged the math. The interaction felt oddly adversarial and unnecessary. He also repeatedly described my mouth and gums in extremely negative terms ("filthy," "awful"), questioned whether I knew how to floss properly despite my explaining that I floss daily, and told me "you failed today" when I mentioned that I had never previously received concerning feedback about my hygiene from other dental professionals. Constructive feedback is absolutely fine and important. What was difficult was the tone. I left feeling embarrassed and emotionally rattled rather than supported or informed. I'm open to improving anything that genuinely needs attention, but patients can receive difficult information without being made to feel belittled.

At arrival for my appointment and during my procedure I could not help notice a women wondering around observing, not apparently part of the clinical staff, and seemingly being impatient. I believed her to be with the patient waiting in the procedural room next to mine. As my procedure concluded, I sensed Hirschman frustrated and rushed, left the room without communicating with me about what was happening or did happen, the assisting technician then communicated that she would be finishing up and that Hirschman would return with a final consultation. That did not happen, I could sense that he had moved on with the other patient waiting next door, the assisting technician returned saying she was instructed to follow up with me and to conclude the appointment. I left with a what turned out to be an incomplete root canal, a temporary filling which was removed and replaced by my dentist, a tooth that had continuous discomfort with pressure, and now the development of an infection as a result of an incomplete root canal for which I now will need have another proceedure done. Not by Hirschman.

It turned out there was an infection under the tooth and that the prior root canal could be improved. I saw Dr. Machado at Cherry Creek Endodontics, and he did a great job. During the evaluation, he walked me through the 3D X-ray, explained what he was seeing, discussed the infection and the condition of the prior root canal, and laid out my options clearly. I really appreciated that level of transparency and explanation. They were also able to do the retreatment immediately after the evaluation, which I was very grateful for. Dr. Machado took extra steps to help give the tooth the best chance possible, including placing medication/calcium in the tooth before permanently sealing it. They did this twice before the final sealing, which made me feel like they were being thorough and careful rather than rushing the process. It is still too early to know whether the tooth will ultimately make it, but I feel very good about the care I received. They made me as comfortable as possible during each procedure, and the numbing was highly effective every time. My only complaint is that the pain the first night after the initial procedure was unbearable, and I was only advised to take Tylenol and ibuprofen. I got essentially no sleep that night, although it improved after that. I understand this may be standard practice now that stronger pain medication is less commonly prescribed, but I would have really appreciated even a very small short-term option to help me sleep the first night or two. That said, everything else about the experience was excellent, and I do not feel right taking off a star for that. I'm grateful for the care, skill, and responsiveness of Dr. Machado and the team.
