My eye doctor for past 8-9 years. Always professional and informative. I am fortunate to count Dr Drucker as one of my care givers.

I cannot recommend Dr. Lim highly enough!!! 17 thumbs up!!!…read more She is a miracle worker. I was the biggest scaredy cat about getting my cataract surgery done. I have been wearing glasses since the third grade and I am extremely near-sighted. One of my biggest fears is losing my sight. Dr. Lim made me feel extremely confident about getting the surgery. She explained the surgery in detail and she offered excellent advice about the right type of cataract lenses for me. The surgery itself was extremely quick and painless. I felt like I was at a Laserium show at a planetarium and not in an operating room. There are a number of follow-up appointments scheduled for the day and week after surgery. Both Dr. Chan and Dr. Zhang were caring, knowledgeable, and friendly at these follow-up appointments. The Walnut Creek office staff is also wonderful, friendly, and efficient. Being the nervous Nelly that I am, I did call them more than a few times with my worries. I am now seeing 20/15 out of my distance eye. I can read 4 point type out of my reading eye. I feel I should be on a lecture tour, wearing a Super Hero cape to match my new bionic eyes, touting the wonders of cataract surgery with Dr. Lim. The only regret I have is enduring blurry and dimming vision for a year because I put off my cataract surgery because I was so scared. If you need cataract surgery, make an appointment with Dr. Mira Lim!!! You will be so happy you did. It was the BEST DECISION I have ever made in my life.

Three year later they still test the same. I'm so grateful to her! It is not surprising to me that she worked with Dr Vastine, the Errol Flynn of eye surgeons. Unprofessional and Disrespectful of Patients' Time…read more My mother's appointment was scheduled for 1:20pm, yet we were kept waiting 51 minutes before being seen. There were no updates, no explanation, and no apology from the staff or the physician. When I mentioned--calmly--that my mother's time should be respected and that appointments should begin reasonably close to their scheduled time, Dr Gilbert replied: "Well, sometimes it works that way and sometimes it doesn't." That statement, paired with a complete lack of acknowledgment for the delay, was unacceptable. It reflected a dismissive attitude toward patient time and basic professionalism. I remained polite and civil throughout the interaction, but left with the impression that punctuality and patient communication are simply not valued here. If you expect respect, accountability, or even a simple apology for excessive wait times, I would advise seeking care elsewhere.

Dr. Gilbert performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. After my first eye was done, I complained of severe blurred vision. He told me it was normal and insisted that we move forward on the second surgery. Unbeknownst to me, he caused permanent damage to my corneas, and at the age of 48, I can no longer see properly. I have to wear hard contact lenses for the rest of my life to see a bit better and to stop further deterioration, unless I want to do a cornea transplant. He told me that the worst case scenario post surgery would be that I maybe would need reading glasses and might have a bit of halos around lights at night. When he realized that I was not healing properly, he promised me that he would stick with me and help me find solutions. I never heard from him again. I worked with the ophthalmologist who referred me, different eye specialists, had to have an MRI, and finally met with a skilled doctor who was able to diagnose me and confirm that based on my records it is obvious that this damage happened during surgery. I also was told by his receptionist when I asked for medical records that I would have to come back to get them later because he likes to have the opportunity to go over them and change them before releasing them to the patient.

An optician , Catherine Romano, is another story. My glasses were lost by her office and she works under umbrella of Walnut Creek Eye Medical Group. I was promised a refund for the order and for the frames that were lost. I never got refund for the order $528 despite that after many phone calls and a trip to this office she finally gave me a receipt last week as if she refunded the money. Today, a MONTH LATER , my credit card HAS BEEN CHARGED AGAIN $349 and then refunded $349 with a total net zero refunded to my credit card for the frames and optician stated that she returned the money. I also believe this Dolce Gabbana was more expensive than $349 charged to me and my insurance at the time of my purchase. Catherine, optician , refused to give her license number and told me she is unlicensed although her card that she hands to her patients states that she is licensed. The owner of this practice insisted that she is licensed. I am wronged for at least $900 and still cannot get a dime. Overall, all of the frames are very expensive, and optician does not want to admit when she is wrong. She also often changes her story on what was and was not included in the order and how much she was going to charge. In addition, Catherine insisted that I had to deal with USPS or whoever lost the frames although I handed my frames, previously purchased from her, to her personally. Completely unethical an unprofessional behavior and disrespect to her customers. Catherine stated that the lenses were ready , even although she knew that my frames had already been lost. How could the lenses be ready if the lab did not get the frames? How can she state to the owner of this practice that she returned $528 for the order when she never did???? How can she state that this office refunded me the price of the frames and then charge back my credit card??? Overall, she got almost $900 and I got nothing in return. AND she took my frames that I purchased from her. Receptionists also stated they do not have an office manager and they do not know the license number of their optician. What a mess! Disrespect and a pure sabotage.

His vast knowledge of his field of ophthalmology is impressive, but also reassuring to know that the man who will operate on your eyes is the finest in his field. I met with Dr. Jacobs on December 12 to go over the changes so we could get the ball rolling and not have a delay in my immune treatment which I require every 3 weeks to stay healthy due to a serious immune disorder. He assured me that it would be handled well. Then almost month later I call back and find out nothing has been done. The office didn't have a new script from the Dr. The contract worker they had hired to deal with insurance benefits at the office still didn't know I had a new pharmacy benefits provider. She was trying to order the old medication from the old benefits provider. So I spent the next two weeks on the phone for entire days - leaving messages, waiting on hold, coordinating between nursing staff (bc the dr was now on vacation), the independent contractor who didn't understand my insurance change, my pharmacy benefits provider and the pharmacy filing the order. Babysitting grown adults who are getting paid to apparently not do their jobs. The office at first admitted to dropping the ball, then they each slowly started to blame other people in the office and I realized what a toxic dysfunctional mess the whole operation was. Perhaps they once were good - the vast majority of these five star reviews are many years old. Today, I think they can handle routine allergy shots. That's their bread and butter. Anything more is a deep stretch for their abilities. In the end I finally got my medication two weeks late and it would have been even later if I hadn't borrowed a medical pump to use from a complete stranger. This was an incredibly stressful process that would have been avoided if people at this office understood how to do their jobs.
