The small kitchen in the back also helps when bringing in food and Kelly (owner) will assist with food set-up and will also provide sterno cups for a small fee. Kelly was also very accommodating for the use of our music and other audio visual equipment. The hall is very spacious and allows enough room for dancing or games or other activities in the middle of the hall between the tables. We also appreciated the use of a large cooler for ice and separate table for soft drinks. Set up was pretty close to what I would have done in my own home, but with much easier clean-up. She also had access to a gentleman to assist with clean-up and a bartender. We took advantage of the help from both and it made serving and shut-down that much easier. All in all, our guests enjoyed themselves immensely and the team that planned the party was able to get all that they needed to make my niece very happy with her surprise birthday party. This is only because the space is smaller. There are two floors. The bottom floor looks like where food is usually served and the upstairs is the bar and dance floor. I don't think this setup could work for a large wedding reception since the meal is usually served to everyone together and the downstairs space would not be big enough for everyone to dine together. I also noticed how this place allows outside catering. Not sure if they cater themselves but this is nice and may be an inexpensive option for those looking for a venue to rent where they may want to bring their own food. I would love to throw a party here in the future.

We first toured this venue in June of 2015 and met with Kathy Peck from the Sales Team. Kathy was highly knowledgeable and very patient as she addressed each and every question that we had. During our tour, we were blown away by the classic architecture and how well maintained the facility was considering it's age. The venue was stunning and it was quickly obvious to us that The Grand was truly an appropriate name for this stunning building. The Corinthian Ballroom showcased 30'+ ceilings, walls covered in rich marble and marble pillars throughout. My jaw dropped as we entered and I'll never forget the feeling of "this is it". We wanted to be very thorough in our venue search and entertained many meetings with countless venues in the area. Ultimately, the all-inclusive wedding package paired with a stunning location that would allow us the convenience of the ceremony and reception in one building and their reputation for state of the art catering is why we chose to move forward. In the months following, our wedding planners, Joie Events, became directly involved in managing the relationship with The Grand and we were assigned to Diane Abrahams as our Wedding Coordinator. Diane was the consummate professional. She possessed an exceptional attention to detail and showed us the highest level of commitment and attentiveness throughout our time working with her. Diane was incredibly responsive and showed a tremendous amount of flexibility when working around our demanding schedules. I admired Diane's passion for her work and her pride in the Venue. It was obvious to us that she truly valued the Staff and spoke incredibly highly of her peers every opportunity that she had. Throughout the process my Husband and I introduced some "out of the box" requests, Diane was always quick to accommodate us whenever possible and customized our package to fit our needs. It was during our tasting, that we became aware of how exceptional the food would be. We were truly amazed by the feast prepared for us and by how important it was to the Chef, the he created the meal of our dreams, for our special day. We walked away selecting a customized dish, the petite filet and crab stuffed shrimp with a lobster sauce. We were so confident in our selection and knew that our guests would love it as much as we did. In the week leading up to the wedding, Diane requested a meeting with our Wedding Planners and us to finalize all of the wedding details and ensure that every detail would be perfect. In attendance, was the Manager in charge of Guest Services, the Manager in charge of Catering and even the Engineer who would be responsible for climate control. We walked away feeling 100% reassured that the Team at The Grand was absolutely on top of it and were fully prepared to execute our day flawlessly. The day of is the reason 5 Stars are truly justified. As impressed as we had been with Diane, we quickly realized, that her team was a direct reflection of her. They also possessed an exceptional attention to detail, the highest level of professionalism and commitment to our day. Every staff member that I had the pleasure of interacting with was incredibly friendly, personable and genuinely happy to be working our wedding. Communication was extremely unprofessional from the start. The person handling arrangements represented herself as the owner, only for us to later learn she was actually the owner's mother. This created confusion and miscommunication regarding event details and access times. The biggest issue was that the agreed-upon setup and event schedule changed once we arrived. As vendors, we plan our timelines carefully, and changing access times at the last minute creates unnecessary stress for both decorators and clients. To make matters worse, the venue appeared to have booked another event too close to our client's event, resulting in pressure to clear out before the scheduled event time had ended. The venue was also not properly prepared for guests or vendors. Upon arrival, the floors were wet, delaying setup. Tables were dirty and required cleaning before use. The restrooms lacked basic necessities, including soap, toilet paper, and paper towels. As event professionals, we want our clients to have a smooth and memorable experience. Unfortunately, the condition of the venue and the lack of organization made that very difficult. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this venue to get all agreements in writing, confirm access times repeatedly, and thoroughly document the condition of the facility before and after their event. Based on my experience as a decorator, I would not recommend this venue.
