Just found this place. Best $6.00 I've spent in a long time. I will surely be back for more deliciousness.

Oh my god. Let me tell you. The FLAVORS. THE TEXTURE! A beautifully curated dish that was…read morecomforting, filling and refreshing all at the same time. I just asked Cesario to make me his favorite thing (sans cheese) and I got a roasted veggie and chicken bowl. Topped with a perfectly cooked egg and a mix of crunchy seeds, it was like nothing I've ever eaten before. I believe I got the mole verde sauce (which is gluten free) and it was so full of flavor and umami! If you like mole... or if you like good food in general, you will LOVE my mom's mole!

We went to the Juneteenth celebration in Laurel Park, Santa Cruz (2024). My Moms Mole was one of a…read morefew food trucks there. We were enticed by the appearance of the plates purchased by others leaving the food truck area. All plates come with rice and beans -- and your choice of: (1) jerk chicken ($15). Or roasted vegetables ($12). Or combo of chicken and roasted vegetables ($17). (2) Side dish, choice of fried plantain (4 circles), green salad with vinaigrette, or watermelon, cucumbers, mint salad. (3) choice of one of 3 mole sauces. (Mole sauces are also available to purchase separately). All items were still available when we visited around 1 pm but when we were leaving around 2:30, they had already run out of the plantains and watermelon salad. (The festival was scheduled to run from noon to 5 pm). Between us, we got -- and shared-- the jerk chicken, roasted vegetables, rice and beans, plantains, green salad, and the traditional mole sauce. Overall, the food was good -- but was over-powered by the abundant helping of the mole sauce. We would've preferred about half of the quantity that was served. Portions were generous. Service was friendly.

Surprised this place doesn't have more reviews! I came really hungry and ordered: 5 Tacos 1. Carne Asada (Grilled Beef) 2. Pollo Asado (Grilled Chicken) 3. Al Pastor (Grilled Pork) 4. Lengua (Beef Tongue) 5. Caveza (Beef Head) 2 Quesa Birrias (Beef) 1 Sopez de Lengua (Beef Tongue) Tacos Analysis * Hand-made tacos OMG! It's soft and fluffy on the inside, crispy and textured on the outside. * The tacos are very well loaded. 3 bucks I think is well worth it. * The condiments are fresh. Both lemons and cucumbers were very juicy. * The salsa was had authentic tomatio flavors. It was spicy in a good way but not out to kill. Quesa Birrias Anaylsis * Still handmade tortillas. Bomb! * Very well loaded with balance of mozzarella and birria. * Tortilla shell is very well toasted outside with birria sauce all over. * The birria itself was very soft with guajillo (the red) sauce. * Hands down best quesa birrias I've had. Sopez de Lengua Analysis * Still handmade tortillas. Win! * Very filling with many ingredients - bean spread, shredded lettuce, queso fresco, and lengua chunks. Verdict / TL;DR This place is amazing and worth stopping for. The highlights are home-made tortillas, generous portions, just fresh ingredients. The flavors come from the ingredients rather than just salt.
