Food trucks - you take your stomach into your hands every time you consider one. This one was a winning chance. We were camping at the Santa Cruz County fairgrounds and needed to make a trip into town to do some laundry. With a hungry burning in our stomach, we loaded up the clothes and started looking for something to eat in the immediate area. Tacos El Jerry was parked in the lot right out front, and it looked too good to pass up. It ended up being excellent. My wife and I shared some quesabirria tacos, and it was some of the best birria I've had. Their jamica was excellent, and the salsas were superb. I went back the next day for more. The staff is friendly, the truck is clean, and the food is awesome. Definitely worth the detour if you're in the area. read more

Best way to describe this food is mid and mid is being very nice . They charged me twice because the person taking my order wasn't listening, I was using card so I got and additional charge TWICE , usually establishments try to make it right maybe by giving you a free drink or something and nothing was done. On top of that my food was cold , it's almost as if they just gave me left over food . They didn't get my order right and I only ordered 2 things . I would never recommend this taco truck even to my worst enemy . Please stay away from this truck . Don't waste your hard earned money . read more

The worst of the worst food put together ! I don't see how people can be running business and serving food like this. We asked for regular burrito with all the toppings and we only got a burrito with a very chewy meat and beans. Quesabirrias are the worst I've had. Soggy ! And flavorless meat. I wish I can give them a zero star. People stay away from this awful place. If you cant execute what you specialize in what in the world are you doing !! read more

Food is mediocre. Cooked well but lacking in flavor. I saw lots of trucks out there and I think I will try someone different next time. I will say that the presentation was nice though. read more

I used to really love this place but each time we make an online order it often gets completely messed up. Had to drive back to get missing food and the girl cashier (East Lake location) was super rude and defensive and I overheard the cooks talking smack. I approached the situation very politely because i understand mistakes can happen. No longer a fan. read more

Tacos El Jerry did not disappoint! The homemade tortillas were fresh and delicious, and the sauce was 100%--perfect flavor and spice. You can really taste the quality. Highly recommend! read more

Order a pastor burrito. Very disappointed. Not sure how this place has 4.3 stars. Pastor lacked flavor. Not even greasy like Pastor should be. Where the grease runs down your arm. Would have prefer the refried bean option. Rice was ok. BUT the green salsa was FIRE!!! The was the high light of my meal at this location. read more

First time trying this place today. I asked for the price of the burrito and if their chicken was grilled chicken. I always make it a point to ask if a place's chicken is grilled or not because shredded chicken Is NOT what I want when I want a chicken anything from a Mexican place. The girl looked at me with a slightly confused and condescending face and flatly said "yeah" also in the same tone as her face. I said in my mind, ok at least she's confident in her answer, so I ordered the burrito and brought it home. It's quite obviously NOT GRILLED. It's very obvious just a rotisserie chicken that they hand shredded.... I'm speechless. Ruined my afternoon fr. read more

I think I came across their food truck at a church event so service had to be quick and this not memorable, but their veggie taco was memorable ! I tend to only eat pescatarian or veggie dishes when I eat out, and it is difficult to make those kinds of dishes tasty without drowing out the flavors of the fish/vegetables. I remember their veggie tacos being impressively delicious. It looks like they have actual restaurant fronts in the north and south bay, so I will have to return for their veggie tacos as well as check out the vibe of the place itself ! read more

The tacos were super small and had no flavor. They were put on top of a bed of unripe tomato slices and shredded lettuce. The tacos had barely any cheese and were not crispy whatsoever. The horchata was the worst I've ever had. It was watery and it's no flavor. I wish I had spent my money elsewhere. read more

WORTH THE HYPE!! The tacos and service are incredible! Must try taco spot. It's like they know exactly what you need to enjoy a taco and pack your plate without you having to ask for extras like onions, serrano, salsa and lime! Mid tacos. Respect to the handmade tortillas. I'd rather eat the tortillas alone than the meat there. Quesabirrias are too greasy also they didn't give me consume. Only thing worth to go back is for the horchata. Horchata is the best I've ever had. read more

I like this place. It's dependable especially for late night snacks and meals. I love the cheese quesadilla on the big homemade tortillas.

Was in watsonville for my daughters swim meet. The taco was fresh ( asada, and birria), the tortilla was fresh. We ordered 2 straight days. My daughter was looking forward to the swim meet because of the lunch hahaha. Its affordable too read more

My main gripe is the pricing. I understand inflation and having to cover costs while still making a profit, so I won't be too harsh on that. I do have to say I am not a fan of rice in burritos (Mission style buritos are an immediate no-go for me) and they make several of theirs in this local style. Not being from here I guess this is something I'm just going to have to get over since so many here are willing to die on that hill, ha ha. I stopped by Tacos el Jerry truck next to the barbershop and laundromat, which I assume are businesses that also belong to the lady that started these trucks. A "buenos dias", or hello or "how may help you", anything resembling customer service could have started this experience off to a better start. Maybe I looked like a vagrant to them or something was off-putting about me to them? Maybe it was late in the day, or maybe it was just a bad time? The customer service aspect was not all there and borderline rude during my visit. I won't hold it against them too much. Surely, it was a fluke. Knowing full well I was not going to like their mission style burritos I bypassed those and ordered what seemed to be staples they would excel at. Tacos - Al pastor, Birria, Tripa and Asada. The corn tortillas were made to order ( at least from what I saw) and tasted freshly made, so that alone was a huge hit for me. Al Pastor -( Okay I guess) very few, and I mean VERY few places in the area can do a true al-pastor and sadly, Tacos el Jerry is not one of them either, BUT their seasoning of their "al pastor" is decent; The quality of the meat chunks/ grizzle and fat leaves a bit to be desired. ( again, maybe I was just hitting a streak of not the best experience) Birria - QuesaBirria to be exact. I find that anything birria in this area is very hit or miss and Tacos el Jerry was on the better side of this trend. They didn't offer me or seemed to have consomé for it but it was still tasty. Nothing one couldn't fix with some salsa. Asada - probably the best seasoned of all the tacos I ordered. very good, tasty and I think this will be my go-to order from them from now on. Tripas - Kind of hard to mess this up so this was going to be my safe order. They were very nice crispy and full of flavor. I'd be curious to order a burrito sans rice with tripa. I bet that would taste amazing. Overall. I can definitely see why this place gets so much hype. I could have been blind to it but I didn't see any prices posted. I already had a general idea of what I was going to pay for what I ordered. My total was more than anticipated but it is what it is. They do have prices listed online and at the time of my visit, those online prices did no match what I purchased. I think it was just a matter of a recent price increase and they didn't have time to update accordingly. The food was very tasty, a little on the expensive side for my liking, but considering they have virtually no true competition in the area for now, they can get away with that. A must try for anyone in the Watsonville area. read more

I found this food truck from Doordash because they are advertising their regular burritos 2 for under $12. I got the carnitas with salsa verde & they were absolutely divine. The pork is cooked just right & slightly crispy. The rice & bean ratio to everything else was perfect. They really load up the burritos nicely with meat. Then, the outer torilla is toasted to perfection. Perfect brown coloring. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. I took it back to the place I was staying at to enjoy. 10/10 would recommend this unassuming food truck to anyone. read more

Food truck with the most delicious Birria tacos. Get the green sauce, drizzle with the lime, enjoy!

Really good tacos! I like the chicken tacos. The tortillas are hand made and delicious! It's also affordable.

Parking is great and plentiful. They open on sundays until 11pm, beating out all local taquerias on a Sunday that closes at 7pm. They do not have prices on their menu so everything is a guessing game, which led to problems for us (mentioned below). I ordered two tacos, one super quesadilla and one Jamaica drink. My total came out to be $23. My friend ordered the same exact thing, and his total came out to be $26. Keep in mind, We paid with cash. Same meat, same options, no different. No receipts are given. Matter of fact, he said "can I get the exact same order as he did". No outdoor seating. Super Quesadilla was plain meat and just melted regular white cheese (possibly mozzarella due to consistency). The veggies were left outside. I was given two pieces of cherry tomatoes... literally just it. Not sure how super that is. Tacos were decent, not the best I've had but al pastor was a bit dry. Jamaica, tasted like anywhere else. Filled to the rim with ice when we asked for no ice as it was 60 degrees outside on a gloomy night. One great thing is that their tortillas were very fluffy and felt home made. Besides that, I'd drive further to find a better taqueria. read more

The food was kinda bland. The tortillas were also too white for our liking. 45 dollars for 3 items was hella expensive ngl... for the price we expected way more. If you can order ahead, there is usually a line. This place is a taco truck, that is parked in front of a laundry mat, there is plenty of parking. The tacos are made with handmade tortillas and the birria meat is delicious. There have asada, al pastor, lengua, tripa and birria meat. They also offer tortas, quesabirria, mulitas, and horchata, Jamaica, pina to drink. The wait is worth it, the tacos are filling and delicious. The price is also reasonable. read more

Food is great I have no complains, we always enjoy our food when we come here and we will continue to do so. However the everytime we go we always get a very small portion of salsa. Jerry is crushing it over at this place! Just had a birria burrito dunked in consome and it was some flame. Got Pops a lengua burrito and he scarfed that thing down in a few minutes flat. Came here after seeing the great reviews. The customer service was great, the food was good, the burrito was stuffed full of meat, & the food truck was extremely clean. I stopped by for the first time tonight based on reviews. Positives - friendly customer service, fast delivery of a warm super burrito, and well packaged "to go." Not so positives - $13 for a super burrito no prices posted anywhere, thought maybe I paid the "gringo" price. Honestly, the meat was overcooked and a bit tough; and there was no avocado/ guac or sour cream that I could see or taste. Again $13 for a super burrito that wasn't so super...maybe I should've had the tacos? read more
