Pepperoni Pizza Slice
Roben B.

Food: Mario's is a chain pizza shop that offers a wide array of Italian items. Ironically, I enjoyed the Philly the most. The garlic knots and Pepperoni pizza were also pretty good. The spaghetti fell a little short as the pasta noodles were bloated and cooked way past al dente. Service: The service was very barebones. The person taking my order did their job, but other than that we helped ourselves. Ambiance: They did a good job quickly cleaning after diners left. The place is spacious and can seat 10 parties and the general noise level is low.

A decent place for a quick meal and good portion sizes. There are a couple locations in the area and there was plenty of parking at this location. You order the food at the counter and go back to pick it up once they call out your order number. The person behind the register seemed to be having an off day, but we were still able to order our food and figured out the questions that we had on our own. The tables are fairly spacious and the food was ready very quickly. The pizza was decent but a little bit on the oily side. The steak sub was one of my favorite items. You can choose to add peppers, mushrooms, etc on it and it elevates the flavor a lot. The bread was toasted on the outside and all of the cheese made every bite a perfect bite. The spaghetti was very simple but it came in a fairly large portion size. The pasta came with a side salad and 3 garlic knots but we were a little confused and thought it was either/or and accidentally ordered double garlic knots. It was a happy accident because they lightly toasted on the outside and very fluffy on the inside. They had lots of garlic flavor and we used the sauce from the spaghetti to dip them in.

One of the two "17 inch" pizzas we ordered. It'd be fine if they didn't still try to take my money lol

My family has gotten takeout from Marios for a long time. The food has been great for years (I finely found pizza close to what I'd get in Jersey) but my last two orders we were given 15" pizzas instead of the 17-Inch New York Pizza I paid for and since we've ordered that size for a long time, my family knew right away. It is really a shame and I think we'll have to find a new pizza spot for Fridays. Felt like they were trying to cheat customers and I'm not down for that. Do better!

I LOVE MARIO'S PIZZA! If I had to eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be pizza. This Mario's location is superb and solidifies my desire for great pizza. The pizza is amazing. True NY style from beginning to end. And that beginning to end is large. The pizza slice doesn't fit on the plate, let alone the tray itself (see pic). Nothing beats a huge slice of great NY style pizza. Both the pizza and garlic knots I had for lunch were made fresh, not something that had been sitting there and re-heated. What sets this one apart from the rest is the super friendly manager/owner of this location. He greets everyone and has a personal conversation with them. I was there for lunch on a weekday, and he knew easily 60-70% of the customers that walked in. From friendly banter to remembering personal information, he truly makes the place a fun spot to come to. And others seem to think so as well, since they are definitely repeat customers. Authentic NY style pizza that is better than 90% of others claiming "authentic NY style pizza", great location, quick and super friendly service. Highly recommended!

Not sure why this is saying permanent closed. I just ate here yesterday. I stopped in for a snack to share while we were out shopping. Such amazing service. The guy running the register is the owner I think and he was incredibly attentive and cared about your business. The food was incredible. I am a huge fan. We shared a salad, meatballs and garlic knots. All for like 13.00 or so for two. A ton of food to share. Seriously!

They do have big thin slices but with no taste, it was like eating a piece of cardboard, they must use cheap ingredients and i kinda knew it once i saw the slices and saw the cheese they have used. They only getting 2 stars is because it was cheap but not surprise since it wasn't good. I dont think i would come back to this pizza place.

Grew up on mario's in greensboro. Food was delicious and prices were fair. I would recommend all that we ordered tonight: Garlic knots, fries with seasoning, and a 17' pepperoni pizza. Everything was cooked perfectly!

This place is new to this part of town and smaller than other locations in the area. I LOVE IT! John-Carlo makes you feel like family. They take great care and pride in the way the treat their customers and the way the prepare your food. This is my second visit in two weeks and I'll continue to come here over any other location. It's the perfect spot for a quick bite or take food home. There are 4 booths in the center of the restaurant separated by glass partitions. There are 5 booths around the perimeter and two tables at the entry. It's definitely a typical NY Style Pizzeria!

How does this make any sense at all? So, I'm visiting from Tampa and stepmom offered to take us to lunch where they had vegan options. I ordered a slice with vegan cheese and extra green olives. Pizza came out and I noticed that my vegan slice had regular cheese on it with vegan cheese sprinkled on top of it!!!!!! So, I took it back up to the counter to confirm. Cashier didn't know the answer and cook said, 'yes, all of our slices are pre-made and the only way you can get it fully vegan is by ordering a whole pizza' Oh, and then didn't offer a refund but whatever. Just want to alert anyone with allergies or that are vegan for any other reason what they are doing that makes zero sense. And who wants a 'pre-made' slice of pizza?

4.5 stars to be exact. 5 star service, 5 star food, 5 star drinks. So why 4.5? I'll explain…read morebelow... We enjoyed an amazing evening bellied up to the bar. Adam was our host, server and bartender. Huge shout out to Adam, thank you for an amazing evening! He made us his house old fashioned and espresso martini, both perfectly mixed. He gave us recommendations for apps, for mains, and even for other restaurants we'd love in the area. He made the evening special all on his own. We started with salmon carpaccio. Wow! The most tender and thin pieces of salmon, topped with arugula and dressing. This dish is one that will be remembered for the long haul. Then a pesto mushroom homemade gnocchi, and a squid ink pasta with scallops, calamari and shrimp. Two outstanding dishes. The only reason it wasn't 5 stars, and no fault of their own, was the temperature inside. We went in the middle of August on a 90+ degree day with insane humidity. We walked inside and it was hot. They had fans running. I asked if there was an issue with their HVAC, and the manager told us it's out of their hands. It's their "established" owner who runs the show when it comes to building ordinance and temp. Sitting in the bar area with the air moving was perfectly comfortable. But it was a different story in the back room away from the fans and moving air, where we were first seated. If you're here in the heat of the summer, make sure to get the 5 star experience in the bar area. This is a non issue the rest of the year. Regardless, come and enjoy the 5 star food and 5 star service. You won't be disappointed!

Dats what I'm talkin about! Their artichokes look so good. I can't stop thinking about them and am kicking myself in the pants for not getting some. Oh well, I guess that means I'll be forced to go back and get some. Ha! What I did get was the Italian Stallion sub and the Meatball Parm sub. First. Let's talk about the bread. FRESH and slightly crunchy on the outside, with the perfect amount of chewy, and pillowy yet dense on the inside. The BEST bread on a sub that I've found in NC. The Marinara on the sub is authentic Italian marinara with just the right amount of cheese, but those MEATBALLS...I've never had a meatball quite like theirs and they are homemade, delicious with the perfect seasonings. Yum! The Italian Stallion. Absolutely the BEST sandwich I think I've ever eaten. They don't skimp on the meat that's for sure and its QUALITY cold cuts all the way. And the best thing about getting food from here? Their prices. They have kept their prices on the lean side while still keeping their sandwiches fat. Love love love! So what ya gonna do about it? Go back for more! That's what! This is a 100% YES and I will be recommending to everyone.

By the time I left around 6, there were people standing and waiting to be seated. The patio was open with one couple enjoying the nice weather and relative quiet of outdoors. Embur recently relocated to Smyres Place in Greensboro and the new space feels much smaller than I expected. The design reminded me of what I imagine a modern restaurant in Peru might look like. Industrial with solid wood floors, warm finishes, and a large wine display. There are around 25 to 26 tables, mostly two tops and four tops. The largest table seats six, but they will push tables together for larger groups. While I was there, a group of more than 20 came in celebrating something and they were seated quickly without disrupting the rest of the room. The small patio has outdoor seating with about 8 tables and a they have bar area with about nine comfortable seats. The menu took me a minute to understand but I ended up liking the setup. You choose your entrée, which comes with set ingredients, and then choose your protein. Each protein has a different price, so you can control the cost of your meal somewhat. Most menu items can also be made gluten free according to the menu, and vegetarian options seem easy to do. For my appetizer, I ordered the flatbread. Perfection. Rosemary, olive oil, sea salt. Crispy outside, soft inside, and so flavorful I almost ate the whole thing before my meal was served. The server came with water right away and remain attentive but not intrusive the whole time. For my entree, I ordered the Arroz Chaufa with salmon. Arroz Chaufa literally means fried rice. At first the dish seemed a bit salty to me, but once I added the green sauce that comes with it (served on the side), everything balanced out. The green sauce has very mild heat, so if you are not a fan of spicy food, that is the one I would recommend. There is a list of sauces so I assume you can customize your entree. According to my server, the other sauces bring more heat. The salmon was excellent, well seasoned but not too much, and moist. The portion was ample. I was very hungry but I had leftovers to bring home. Service was exactly what I want when dining alone. Attentive without being intrusive. I watched Netflix while I ate and enjoyed my meal without feeling rushed or bothered. The noise level is average for a busy small restaurant. Comfortable enough to relax, but if you want to talk to someone in your group a couple of seats away, you will need your outside voice. This place feels upscale without being fussy, so expected to pay more than average, but I thought it was good value for the quality and portions. I loved this restaurant and will absolutely go back. Must order: Rosemary flatbread appetizer. Tip: Ask about sauce heat before ordering. If you do not like spicy food, start with the green sauce.
