I was throwing up for years and the nurse kept playing doctor instead of referring me to a GI doctor. I had to go to a different doctor to get a referral to the Mayo Clinic, for which my symptoms were serious enough for a 3 week admission. Now they abruptly cut off refilling one of my prescriptions with no warning and didn't call it in temporarily despite the fact that I had made an appointment. I will be finding a new GP.

We had to leave the practice because we couldn't get ahold of anyone when we need to. It doesn't…read morematter if it is an appointment, nurse or billing. We have excellent insurance and have never had a denial. We received a $200 bill for a Telehealth follow up after hospital stay. I have called billing, in Tennessee 7 times. I left a message once and asked them to check the diagnosis code the Doctor used. The additional 6 times I held for 18-22 minutes and just when you think you are going to be transferred to a person, clink, the end. Of course, we tried to get into dr before hospital visit, visited an unrelated walk in twice, over two days for treatment and then the hospital stay. The office was called over three days, with no response until the 2nd voicemail the 3rd day. Dr Luis Casonava is a caring, knowledgeable doctor, who takes the time to listen to his patients. His nurse is great. His office staff while in the office are all pleasant. The problem seems to be not enough office staff to answer phones, check in patients, make appointments and check patients out. I was told this by office staff. The problem seems to be a billing department in Tennessee, where you can't get ahold of anyone. Bayfront Health Medical Group owns the practice now.

Highly recommend....the ladies at the front desk were not sure whether or not they would/could…read moreaccept my health insurance (from Wisconsin)....THEY made the necessary phone calls to find out that yes they did accept my policy:) Even with the insurance questions I was treated by PA Ruland (who was also very pleasant and professional) and out of there...with a prescription...within 90 minutes. Sat in the lobby for almost an hour past my appointment time while they helped at least a half dozen people who had walked in after me. At about 10:15 AM, I got an email telling me my appointment was cancelled and that I'd need to reschedule, WHILE I SAT IN THE WAITING ROOM. I am going to skip the details, other than to say I never saw my PA, she was AWOL from the practice, one person telling me she was scheduled off, the other telling me she didn't work there and never had. Dr. was not available - out of the office until October. Office manager was not available - hadn't come to work yet, at 10AM. If there was a way to give negative stars, I'd be doing that right now. Already found a new practice to see, they're finding time to fit me in Monday.

I recently moved from NP to the Port Charlotte area. I had gotten super sick like super quick and…read morethought I was dying on a Saturday AM. I was able to go online, set an appointment w/in the next hour on a SATURDAY AM .. Yes, I was impressed. As well, I could pay my copay online and not have to deal w/that in the office. I got in and was taken maybe a couple minutes after my 'appt' time; def'ly NOT a problem for me...regular doc's office typically has you waiting up to 30 mins. The staff was very friendly and I felt true concern as they wanted to help me feel like the living again. I wa sin and out w/in 20-30 mins tops. I have found me a new medical practice! Convenience of multiple locations and weekend hours ~ doesn't get much better than that!
