I took Mario Casillas from Mario Mario Landscaping to small claims court Verde Valley Court with Judge Gordon . Judge Gordon agreed with me that a signature I claimed to be forged on a phony refund statement to steal more money from me is forged. Court finds defendants testimony doubtful and finds the purported signature highly dubious at best and at worst a forgery. Statement in court from Mario Casillas was he knew that was my signature on the phony refund statement because it matches exactly my signature on my drivers license. I did not know were he copied my signature but he has access to my drivers license from the Cottonwood AZ . He has been in trouble in the past with his business and is known in the Verde Valley Court system . Rating is MINUS 0. read more

I used Mario 10+ years ago for a large cement project. I was very satisfied with his work. Two weeks ago I called Mario for a landscaping estimate. We have almost an acre of cactii and trees that were seriously overgrown. Mario showed up that same day. We did a walk around and I explained what I wanted done. He gave me an estimate on the spot. I accepted it and the work began the next week. I found Mario's workers to be friendly, professional and always open to my suggestions and changes as the project proceeded. We had a challenging site that needed just the right hardscaping to make the most of our beautiful outdoor setting. Mario and his crew delivered flawlessly from start to finish. They went that extra mile in managing all the inevitable tweaks required in the course of dealing with unstable soils, uncooperative weather, a limited work area and a homeowner who had a particular vision. Mario, himself, was on the site each day throughout the entire process to assure each phase was executed properly. I had Mario and his crew put in a long (60 feet), paver driveway. They completed the project earlier than promised and took great care in their work. All of the crew were very knowledgeable about their portion of the project. Mario had good suggestions to improve the project from my original design and quickly came up with solutions for difficult areas. The finished project was so nice, I recommended him to my neighbor to do his driveway. I would absolutely use Mario and Mario Landscaping again. read more

Horrible. The younger Mario still owes me a refund. Shows up eagerly, gives me a price that I think is fair, but it goes downhill from there. They do some preliminary work for me, but for some reason he asks for more than what the preliminary work costs (which is $450). He asks for $600 and says he'll refund the rest if I don't proceed with the rest of the job. Mario then says he'll have the paperwork submitted to the HOA before their next meeting which is two days away. He has worked w/them before, he says, and knows exactly what to do. He has promised to email me the plans and submission papers for approval, but I get nothing for two days. Then I find out he has already submitted them to the HOA and set up meeting w/o my approval. At this point, Mario hasn't returned my calls for two days ("my battery on my cell died"). He insists he has sent me the plans, but discovers he has sent them to the wrong email address. I tell him I want to meet and go over the plans the day before we meet w/the HOA, but he misses that appointment even though I call him twice and text him. The next day he, shows up for the meeting with the HOA and I still haven't seen the design plans. So I ask him to leave and fire him on the spot. In a voicemail, he says he'll sent my $150 refund, that it is in the mail. Even emails me (at the right address, amazingly) to tell apologize and would still like to do the job. But no refund a month later. He doesn't respond to calls. Totally unprofessional. Time for civil court. I have heard that his father has a great reputation and the work that they do seems fine. But, in my opinion, I would not suggest that you do business with the younger Mario. read more

Faith: "A brick wall project built on faith and lack of Communication;" AKA: Mario & Mario; the contractor and unknown quality of promised work." This was my first experience with Mario &Mario. The initial privacy wall project was 156 square feet of wall approximately 40'long with step up wall heights of: 13'5"x2'tall, 13'5" x4'tall,and 11'9"x 6'tall, all sections making one continuous wall. On the initial layout for rebar for the new wall there was a blue tape marking the 11'9" mark that got moved somehow causing the wall to be 16"short? The lead man called Mario and asked him where the completion line was and Mario said "follow the Blue tape". I was on sight and their lead man could have asked me or my neighbor the same question??? I talked to Mario about this discretion during the pre completion, and his reply was "it is only $7.00". I never understand this type of confusion called "LACK of COMMUNICATION" During the building of the wall I noticed that the vertical mortar bonding joints were not full making a tight seal. The mortar joints are supposed to be smooth flowing instead of having jagged edges and a few mortar joints with very little mortar between the verticals. Second thing that caught my eye was the bricks being used were sub-standard with many corner edges missing?? I was sharing this project with my neighbor wall and am splitting the cost of this privacy wall project. His side of the wall has the same defects. We hired Mario & Mario Landscaping & Masonry Services, LLC last October to lay pavers on our driveway. We asked Mario if he also did slurry sealant that we needed done on our church parking lot. He assured me that he did and hired a subcontractor to do that work and that he had done his church in the past. In November he again assured us that the work on the church parking lot would be done as soon as it got warmer BUT he needed a deposit of $4,500 as a down payment. so the church wrote him a check and we waited and waited and waited. When it turned hotter and hotter I kept contacting him and 95% of the time he did NOT return my calls, emails, or texts. Now it is May and he said his subcontractor was ready to do the church parking lot . The work was finished and looked great BUT here comes the scam--he did NOT give his subcontractor any of the $4,500 from the November check and did NOT give the balance of $4,500 to the subcontractor. He kept ALL of the money and told us he was NOT getting a penny that $9,000 was going directly to the subcontractor and they did NOT get any money. He lies, cheats, steals, is NOT trustworthy and I am sick that the company doing the church parking lot has NOT received any money for the job they did and he will NOT answer his phone, respond to emails, or texts. The cost to the subcontractor was $7,500 NOT $9,000. Not only did he lie to me he told the same lies to our pastor. The subcontractor is now taking it to court to get his money.
