I also bought the livingsocial deal to Marinwood Pool, but I was skeptical because I didn't know where the pool was. Turns out I drive by it regularly, but it's tucked away and you can't really tell it's there! In fact, it's a little confusing to get to it the first time. It's behind the Marinwood Community Center building (next to the fire station), and you can either go through the building doors or around the outside next to the park. From there you should see the entrance and main desk. The price is pretty reasonable even without the voucher deal. It's $5/kids or $6/adults for one full day. There's a large lawn area to set up your chair/towel/picnic setup, and on Sundays there's live music (and a bounce house). There are vending machines but it's not much in the way of food. I think you're allowed to bring food in though, which seems more fun anyway. There's a infant/kiddy pool separate from the main pool, and then the main pool is broken up into 4 sections: 1-2 lanes for lap swimming, the main 3-6 ft swimming area for kids/parents to play in, the 10-12 ft deep end for practicing jumping and diving into the water (no diving board), and then the landing zone for the 2 WATER SLIDES to drop into. The water slides are amazing. Even for grown-ups. You climb up the platform steps to the top, and pick which slide you want to go do (the long one or the spirally one). The attendant turns on the water for whichever one you pick (props to the pool for preserving water!), and then you go for a slide. And then you get out and go again. This is definitely a family-focused pool. Sometimes it can be tough if you're there for exercise or to work on technique, since you have to be careful of children and move out of the swim lane if they're taking a swim test. But it's a great community pool and I'm really glad they did the living social deal!

Great L-shape pool, shallow end for kids, 2 waterslides one cork screw and one U-shaped, tables, showers, bathrooms, ping pong, lounge chairs, trees and grass, lots of life guards. Also a 1-2 foot deep round kiddy pool. Great for birthday pool parties. They decorate and everything.

We bought the deal on the livingsocial.com and glad we did! Great place for the family time away from the city noise and fog. Don't forget to bring the snack for kids and maybe a couple folding chairs if you are coming late.

What a great place! Plenty of space to swim, enjoy the grass and sun, and even hang out with the little ones in the baby pool.

After another nearby pool was closed, I was trying to quickly find another option and relied on Google, which made it seem like this one might be open. We drove over, but there was no activity -- no cars parked, no sounds of kids or families around. We spoke with base security, who was kind but didn't have clear information about the pool or its hours, and shared that it is not open to the public without special permission. We were also told that the parking area is not for civilian use. After checking the official site, it looks like the summer season doesn't begin until May 23, so definitely something to plan ahead for. Sharing in case it helps others avoid the same situation!

The teacher, Ms. Amy, is so patient and kind. Our goals are a bit different, as my son is just getting comfortable with the water, kicking, blowing bubbles, floating etc. Pool is clean, bathrooms clean, plenty of parking. This is a great pool and I hope to find more classes or swim days that work well for my son.

Ok.. so it's not Vegas, and it's not Hawaii…read more But, on a spankin' hot day when all you're trying to do is escape the sticky, dry heat that forms puddles of sweat along your unmentionables area The Conlan Center's pool at Dominican University is f'in perfect! It's open to the public and, as long as you're willing to be gay (if you already aren't) for at least 2 minutes, you can bring a friend and save $5 on admission (usually $10/person) as long as you hold hands and say you're domestic partners. I'm not confused about my sexuality. Really. It's just my hustle. Period. They'll need proof of your commitment to your significant other. Just kidding.. Really, you don't have to do all that.. I'm just messing with you. You can just ask for the discount and they'll give it to you, no questions asked. The downside: No half naked girls serving cocktails, no smoking, no DJ. BUT.. they do have a vending machine, and a cute little garden area with actual green grass. You ever seen any grass near the pool in Vegas? Don't think so. Note: Public usage of the gym/workout area is usually $5/day I think. They have memberships available for purchase to the public as well. You just have to pay extra to use the pool. And don't think you can just pay the $5 and walk into the pool area anyhow. They collect these little yellow paper token things.
