She immediately said she knew exactly who we needed to talk to and introduced us to Kayla! Kayla was an absolute delight. She was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us find the remaining items we needed. What impressed me most was how much she cared about the comfort of our horse without ever even meeting him. She took the time to explain the differences between the different options, what would work best, and what would be most comfortable for him. We never felt rushed or like we were asking silly questions. Kayla is definitely the go-to person at The Mercantile for horse questions! The other team member who helped us was wonderful as well. After finding what I hoped was the correct aquarium tank, heat lamp, and bulb I went to check out. The clerk helpfully pointed out that there was a crack in my aquarium glass. The problem was out of the five small aquariums in stock, four were cracked. The clerk asked me where the aquariums were in the store. One area in the store was very messy. I was confused if that was an area for retail or for inventory storing. It was extremely confusing. It seemed to be an area for retail, but it was quite disorganized. My impression from my visit to this Petland store was that it is understaffed, poorly organized, and no one is paying attention to see if the items being stocked on the shelf are a good quality or damaged. In comparison to other pet stores in Wichita, this was quite inferior.

I was looking for clearance toys since Coop is a puppy set on destruction, and found more than I was looking for. I got a rope toy, a chuck it, an extra ball and another sturdy squeeky toy for under $17. That is a win in my book. The man working saw me make my way toward the checkout area and quickly got there to ring me up. He was very friendly and I was in and out in a flash. Took my 3 m.o. Pomeranian here for grooming today. Jennifer was the groomer and she was very…read morefriendly. My puppy, Obi, was so nervous and was shaking when we first walked in. Jennifer caressed him and told me to come back in a few hours. My puppy got the upgraded puppy grooming service which included a bath (oatmeal shampoo), nail filing, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning and a light trim. I was worried because it was my puppy's first time but he seemed very calm when I came back to pick him up! Jennifer gave me Obi's report card which I thought was super cute. I'll definitely be back! Make sure you go online to book an appointment with one of the gals there. It's pretty easy to navigate and I think it'll be less overwhelming than hearing all of the services available in person. Nail trimming is a walk-in service but almost everything else must be booked in advance. They will call you the day before to remind you of your pet's appointment! Very professional.
