In the end, I bought in Norfolk and shipped the boat to New England. HMB walked me through the whole process, followed up with with many phone calls. An older, but fairly well maintained, full-service storage and transit marina, located at the end…read moreof Sunset Creek, a tributary of the Hampton River. The facility's main business is dry storage for power boats up to about 40 feet, but they also handle daily or extended in- or out-of-water stays from transient boaters, and those local boat owners wishing to perform maintenance on their boats, both sail and power, up to about 60 feet. The marina has all the normal amenities, including both gasoline and diesel fuel, a very nice Ship's Store, a selection of bait and tackle for fisherman, on-site mechanical and rigging service personnel, bottom cleaning and painting capabilities, fiberglass repair services, and full electrical and water services for both in-water and landside slips. Short or long-term storage contracts are available, and range from one-day visits to yearly dry storage contracts with provisions for on demand in-and-out-of-the- water hauling included. Sunset is located in a fairly quiet part of Hampton, and is a short walk or tender ride up the Creek to the center of the city and all the commercial action, hotels and restaurants. But, aside from the peacefulness of the place, one of the benefits of its location is that prices here are a bit lower than at those spots further up the Creek and closer to Downtown. And, for whatever reason, the folks that frequent Sunset seem a bit less plastic than those at the more "sophisticated" marinas at the head of the Creek. And whether that's good or bad, of course, is entirely up to you.

Awe yeah....carpet cleaning…read more Okay....placed a call early in the week....got an appointment for a few days later. The team arrived on time and started right away. I needed the whole third floor of my townhome hardcore cleaned. The previous owner had a cat that just had a ball (hairball) with the hair all over. Not to mention, the cat smell. The team arrived with their big cleaning unit and brought everything they needed to the third floor. One important note....they did need my bathroom to dump their water so I was fortunate to have one on the third floor. Just something to consider or plan of you have them come over. Overall, they worked for a couple hours power cleaning my carpet. Bottomline, well done. No more cat hair or cat hair smell. The third floor looks and smells brand new. I would use them again if I needed to.

I cannot recommend ServPro based on my experience with the reconstruction, packing, and moving of…read moremy home. Communication and project management were poor throughout the process. Materials they knew were needed weren't ordered until late in the project, causing delays and affecting my flooring and cabinet replacement. A home inspection afterward found incomplete work, including insulation that had been removed but never replaced and HVAC vents that were not properly connected. As I've unpacked, I've discovered even more problems. Furniture was disassembled, but the hardware wasn't taped to or kept with the furniture, and much of it was never found. I've made several trips to hardware stores trying to replace missing parts. A brand-new TV had a punctured screen and had to be replaced. My jewelry was thrown loose into a large box with other belongings, leaving necklaces and chains badly tangled. There were many other issues: my mattress was stored without the protective cover I specifically purchased, light covers were broken, drywall and construction debris were placed against freshly painted walls, glue was left all over the new flooring, and my front door was left unlocked. Most frustrating was being told by the supervisor that I was "complaining too much" when I raised concerns. These weren't minor complaints. They involved damaged property, missing hardware, incomplete work, additional expenses, and many hours of my time trying to correct problems. Based on my experience, I would not use ServPro again.

These guys are a joke; they have no clue what they are doing…read more I had a part that needed to be returned to Yamaha to re-program it. I was told by Yamaha to send in the part thru a dealer, and they would re-program it for free. I went thru Norfolk Marine (Big Mistake). I dropped the part off on Wednesday and explained to the service manager what had happened and exactly what Yamaha told me. I also provided him the information Yamaha requested to be sent in with the part. He said he would have his tech look at it, I asked him why and that it just needed to be forwarded to Yamaha, he said just to verify the part. A few hours later I received a call from him saying a Yamaha tech would be out to program and install the part. I said that Yamaha was very specific stating the part could only be programmed at Yamaha. I asked him if he spoke to Yamaha and he said yes (this was a bold face lie) and they told him it could be programmed in the field. He told me the tech would meet me at 8:00AM that Friday. I took off of work Friday morning and the tech did not show, I tried to call the service department's manager at 9:00AM, and he was not in, the receptionist said she would let him know when he came in, he returned my call about 15 minutes later and said the tech was wrapping up and would be out shortly, he showed up around 10:00AM and told me no one had scheduled him to come out to my boat. He spent about an hour or so and could not get the part to work, he then called his office and tried a couple of other things, still did not work, he then called Yamaha, and they said the part would have to be sent to them in order to get it re-programmed (waste of 4-days). They then sent it to Yamaha, and it went through some problems there. Yamaha finally got it programmed and overnighted it back to Norfolk Marine (Thursday). I called Norfolk Marine the next day (Friday) and they said it did not come in and they would be looking for it. I called the following Monday, and they said it still had not shown, I then called Yamaha, and they told me it was signed for and gave me the tracking number. I entered the number, and it said it had been delivered the prior Friday. I called Norfolk Marine, and they went on an Easter egg hunt, come to find out it was delivered to the parts department and they refused it and told UPS it was supposed to go to Yamaha. It has been over 5-weeks, and I have not been able to use my boat, the part is now missing, and Norfolk Marine has no clue where it is.

On 21 June '25 i took my 2006 Hurricane Deck boat in for a 'Fuel filtering & purifying' service due…read moreto the outboard motor (Yamaha 115HP) being sluggish above ~3,500RPM. I explained within the last year I had changed out all fuel filters (between squeeze bulb and low pressure fuel pump, between low pressure fuel pump and Vapor Separator Tank (VST), high pressure fuel filter in VST), replaced High Pressure Fuel pump, fuel injectors, and installed a fuel water separator. I called on Wed. (25 June) to check on status of repairs and was notified by service manager that a technician had taken a fuel sample and identified that there was no issue with the fuel. I do not know the location (inside fuel tank?, fuel line off squeeze bulb?) of the fuel sample that the technician took. Additionally, I was informed the technician noted there were Auto Lite spark plugs in the outboard motor and changed the spark plugs to NGK (OEM) and stated the engine ran fine and was ready to go. Of note, I had changed those spark plugs to Auto Lite's (which are marine replacements for a Yamaha F115) last year. Cost was ~$417. I took the boat home on Fri. (27 June) and ran it in the water (NO CHANGE TO THE SLUGGISH CONDITION). After further troubleshooting myself I identified the engine oil level was way above normal (indicating a low pressure fuel pump dumping gas into the oil). I changed out the low pressure fuel pump and I'm in the process of cleaning/changing out fuel injectors. My frustration is that no one contacted me about not doing the fuel filtering & purifying, changing spark plugs, etc. before I called to check on status. Furthermore, I found the 'way above normal engine oil level'. I will never do any business with Norfolk Marine again.

I've used this staffing company a couple of times. They placed me into a temp job, that became a…read morepermanent position. Before I got this job, they sent me on a couple of interviews, but I didn't get the position. I ended up finding a job on my own, but after 4 months, I found the drive back and forward from Virginia Beach to Hampton too much. I called Image Services and explained my dilemma. By the following week, they had sent me on an interview. I got the job and was able to give the current job my two week notice! I learned a long time ago...if you're interested in working with a staffing company, you get to know the people working there and keep in touch! While their job is to place you, they get A LOT of people coming in looking for employment. You want to be memorable if you want them to place you (it's about selling yourself). That advice hasn't failed me yet and it holds true even for Image Services. While the size of the company worried me (it's small compared to one or two staffing companies I've worked with before in the DMV area), they helped me find a great job with an awesome company.
