It is a beautiful community in Marina del Rey right near the ocean and has all of the amenities as well including a pool, gym, and grounds that are pet friendly and always incredibly well maintained. Everybody here truly cares. That is what makes the difference! I cannot recommend this community enough for an individual or family looking for a place to call home. I am thoroughly enjoying my early retirement here at AMLI and feel like I'm at a secluded luxury vacation resort every day. I plan to make this my forever home after living in Beverly Hills and Bel-Air my entire life, AMLI wins hands down. One of the most impressive aspects of AMLI is the exceptional tenant care and genuine kindness from the spectacular staff who we fondly refer to as our AMLI FAMLI. Before I rave about my overall experience as a tenant, I would be remiss not to take a moment to recognize and express my sincere gratitude to the "entire" AMLI staff. My dedicated Leasing Agent, Christhel, always greets me with her bright joyful smile even on her worst day. She takes great pride in promptly satisfying me without fail and consistently goes above and beyond to exceed my expectations which has further enhanced my experience exponentially. I have also worked with Bridgette, Vanessa, Glenda, and Naja who are all very special and extremely helpful as well.   Last but certainly not least is Jeremy who oversees the complex and its nearly 600 apartment units. Jeremy is the captain of the ship and leads by example. For those of you who have managed your own homes, imagine managing nearly 600 apartment homes, not an easy job by any means. Jeremy tackles every issue utilizing his highly impressive problem-solving and managerial skills, always executing with superior professionalism and kindness. There is no shortage of fun adventurous activities at AMLI. A typical day for me includes a light breakfast and coffee on one of my two waterfront balconies, workout at our "Equinox-esque" three story Fitness Center, swim at one of our heated saltwater pools, hot tub, healthy lunch at The Hive on property, bike ride to the beach, my favorite out-of-body sunset sailing adventures, unwind on my balconies, culminating with a short stroll to one of my regular fine dining spots in the neighborhood. I no longer feel the need to take nearly as many vacations and have saved a tremendous amount of money as a result. If you are considering moving to the marina or anywhere on the westside for that matter, look no further. I thoroughly researched the entire westside and Marina del Rey marketplaces for years before I made my final decision to call AMLI my home. Do yourself a favor and schedule a no obligation tour with the leasing office today just in time for summer although year-round living is also pure heaven! If you have any questions concerning AMLI from a tenant's perspective, I have plenty of free time, please feel free to text me at (310) 801-6088 and I'll be happy to help you, or call the leasing office. When I called the Waves a few days ago, I spoke with their dock master, Chase... mind you, this was the first marina I called, so I didn't know what to expect. Not only was he able to answer all my questions about the lease (standard), the amenities (sparse), and available slips (online), but when he found out I'm about to step into my first boat, he went above and beyond. He let me in on some of the hidden costs of boat ownership, nuances in survey reports and slip choice, how to participate in the boatter community, and even differences between documents--all worries I had secretly avoided. I literally found myself taking notes! I had a list of marinas (10+) I wanted to scope out, so I thanked him for his time and went about my business. As I made more calls, not only did I feel less frazzled by the process, but I was actually kind of impressed that most of the information stuck, and I found myself asking better questions. If I end up with my boat at the Waves, I'm very much so looking forward to meeting the guy in charge! And if you're reading any of these reviews about you (stellar!), please know how impactful that interaction was for me. So, thank you, Chase--much appreciated. Keep up the good work, sir!

As I was moving in, one of the staff members, Arturo, even stopped what he was doing to assist me. I have had to do my move mostly alone and that simple gesture really made me feel welcome here. Many of the reviews I've read here complain about dog related issues. I have personally have not had any negative experiences there. Every dog has been leashed, well behaved, and no dog poop anywhere. I've moved about a dozen times in my life and this has been by far the best experience that I've had thus far. My only suggestion would be an improvement to the package delivery system. It seems many packages are unclaimed - perhaps because people are unaware of delivery? Although, getting my packages has been plenty manageable so far. Very excited to be living in this community. I have been informed about several community events that seem genuinely fun to attend. After four years and three management teams, my concerns involve repair, privacy and safety, particularly under General Manager Joel Shannon and Service Supervisor Charlton Tang. Management mandated SmartRent installation on 6/18/26. I am a violence survivor in a confidential-address program. A SmartRent account was created in my name without my acceptance of its terms. I promptly requested removal and confirmation that data collection and retention ended. Removal took more than 100 days; I still lack confirmation that collected data was purged. This ACLU case is context, not proof here: https://www.aclunorcal.org/cases/san-francisco-tenants-union-v-smart-rent/ Documented chronology: * My HVAC began leaking on 6/23. At least 13 visits preceded licensed contractor Service 1st in September. The permanent system was replaced on 10/2, more than three months later, but it is also leaking. Management reinstalled the temporary unit on 10/3 and has returned multiple times; the condition continues. Other residents later described similar leaks, but I am not asserting a shared cause. * My electrical bills rose substantially during SmartRent/HVAC troubleshooting. Management declined investigation or credit. * On 7/25, my washer overflowed and flooded the hallway. SmartRent generated two emergency alerts that the on-call responder closed without entering. Water began around 1:37 a.m.; no team member entered until approximately 10:30. A technician deemed the carpet unsalvageable, removed part and covered the exposed floor with cardboard. Both remain. * Management's restoration company inspected on 7/31. Its 8/24 email confirmed that remediation, drying, material replacement, rebuilding and flooring formed one project requiring approximately ten days outside. DPH inspected on 9/8 and reinspected on 9/30. The work remains outstanding, later leaks required more carpet removal, and management has not responded to my proposed relocation arrangements. * Independent testing documented airborne mold and confirmed actual fungal growth in the water-damaged carpet and flooring area. The recommended remediation remains outstanding. * A portable AC repeatedly tripped a breaker and later leaked into another carpeted area. Public Works advised that a licensed electrician should evaluate the condition and determine whether a permit was required. An evaluation occurred on 10/2. * Ants appeared near affected areas. I requested pest-control preparation and product information to protect my small dogs. It was not timely provided, treatment could not proceed, and no alternative was offered. The apartment remains professionally untreated, with ants present. I am not asserting that moisture caused them. These events disrupted essential medical care. I remain in physical therapy for a serious 2024 spinal injury sustained in a separate fall in a garage area where water was present. Less than 24 hours' notice for the all-day 10/2 installation required cancellation of an essential appointment and a $75 fee. I am posting supporting photos, correspondence and report excerpts. My concern is how management responded while leaks, heat, electrical concerns, fungal growth, pests and repeated visits accumulated and temporary conditions persisted for months. I have received building-wide review solicitations offering a chance to win a rent credit. Those reviews do not reflect my experience. I hope Vivmark's oversight improves conditions. I will update this review when the outstanding issues are resolved. My greatest concern is Joel's response, which I experienced as repeated minimization, shifting explanations and escalating pressure after I sought outside assistance.

My first review of Harborside was posted under pressure, and I owe it to every boater here to say so. Mike, the dockmaster, asked my boat's co-owner over lunch if he could get a couple people to post something positive for him--Management had reportedly been pushing him to resign, and I was afraid of what the man who controls my slip could do to me if I said no. So I posted a positive review and so did his (co-owner) wife, a day apart. Mike had only been here about eight months. I didn't know then what I know now. Don't get me wrong -- when Mike was first hired, we were on cordial terms. That ended the moment I started speaking up -- about the bathroom closures, the end of pump-out service, and other practices I raised directly with Mike and corporate. From that point on, he spent the last year and six months harassing and retaliating against me. Start with how we actually live. We carry our own toilet paper and hand sanitizer to the only working restrooms just to get through the day and Pump-out service is non-existent. Multiple boaters, including me, have formally raised this with upper management. Nothing has changed. What I've watched since is selective enforcement -- the rules apply to some boaters and not others. A couple examples would be: the only boaters who were hit with a rent increase were the ones here before Mike was hired, and the slips seem to flow to one man, Peter, and the boats he brings in. Peter openly advertises Harborside liveaboard slips on Facebook Marketplace, with boats listed as "apartments," rent-to-own for $5,000 down. I've watched how that plays out: someone puts down a large deposit chasing the dream of owning a boat, pays every month, then gets told they're a day late, loses the boat, and a new person moves in within minutes. The deposit and every payment after it are gone. So here's my challenge to management: name one slip rented at Harborside in the last year and a half that isn't tied to one of Peter's boats.. Then ask yourself why. Those slips used to hold real boaters -- people pushed out, or who left because they couldn't stand watching what's happened to this marina. People all over Marina del Rey ask me what happened to Harborside. I just shake my head. So this review stays up on purpose. The glowing reviews keep surviving and the honest ones keep vanishing -- so if you're reading this, you're reading the truth first, for as long as it lasts.
