I was so looking forward to a leisurely afternoon at this Capri Beach Club after my good friend…read morecame for several days and told me all about it. It was one of the highlights of our 2-week trip to Europe. It is definitely a splurge, but knowing that going in, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We took the little boat on a scenic ride over from Marina Piccolo, picked out a great location for our beach chairs and umbrella, then had a lovely lunch at the restaurant at the top, overlooking the ocean. Service was quick and attentive. We had the fried zucchini flowers stuffed w/ goat cheese - pretty good, but honestly, pricey ($25) and not as good as the ones we get back in San Diego at Cucina Urbana. We then shared a fried assortment of shrimp and calamari, which was tasty (although not quite as good as the ones we had at Da Fernando beach club in Positano). My daughter enjoyed her fresh catch of the day - sea bream (sold by weight, $45). And we had a bottle of white local Amalfi wine that we really enjoy and is only $32/bottle, Falaghina. All in all, it was about $450 for the 3 of us for lunch, drinks, beach chairs, umbrella and boat transport ($10/person each way). But best of all was lounging on the rocks in the little cove, overlooking the beautiful towering Faraglioni rock formations, and swimming in the crystal blue waters. It's super salty, so it was effortless to just float and relax. There were about a dozen well-dressed Italian guys celebrating a bachelor party, singing and dancing, and doing shots, which added to the fun, Italian ambiance. A really memorable, beautiful, relaxing day.

Let's just start by saying it's a beautiful beach club, but the worst meal we've had in all of…read moreItaly! The Caprese salad was rubbery with awful tomatoes on a bed of wilted, lettuce, and dried oregano. Nothing fresh about it. Our linguine with tomato olives and capers had zero flavor. The bread basket left a lot to be desired, I'm not even sure the seagulls would've eaten it. Word to the wise, when you come for the beach club use your €60 credit per person on booze! The service was not attentive. Just an overall bad experience. Do not come for the food!

You also need to tip your boat guy on top of that. Since we were on a tour, we transferred from a tour boat onto one of their row boats, in the middle of the water. 2-3 people fit in a boat (not including the rower), so hubby and I were stuck with a rando. We got there at around 11 am, and there were a lot of boats but we only waited about 10 minutes or so to get into the cave. I've read this can be hours during peak season but thankfully, we went in April. There's also a line on land for people who I'm assuming found their way to the grotto themselves, but it seemed like they were prioritizing the people coming from the tours. Once inside, you're with a bunch of other row boats so it's definitely not as magical as what you see on the gram. But the water is still amazing. It's like a neon blue from the way the sun reflects on it. We rowed around for not even 10 minutes before heading back out. The opening for the cave is super small, so you have to lay down in the boat to get in, and the rower basically leans back on top of you. It's worth the experience for the amount of time we waited (though pricey). But if I had to wait anything more than 30 minutes, I don't think it would have been.

It's pretty, but overall I feel like it's a tourist trap…read more It's a thing u do to say that you did it, but like I said over all not worth it. - The tour we took was one right near where the ferries unload and even they were like there are other grottos that are similar and not as time consuming (should have listened to them). - We ended up doing the loop around the island and did a stop at the grotto (in which we had to circle back to the start and try again later cuz the lines were long). - You have to wait on a boat to go on a smaller row boat (not great for people who are claustrophobic) cuz you go under a small space into a cave. - we waited for like ever on the main tour boat (it's like 2 to 3 people per row boat at a time and you need to wait for the boats to enter and exit the cave) and they wouldn't even open up the bathroom for us. -they asked for an additional 10 euros if you wanted to jump into the blue grotto water... rip off!!! -there was also an entrance fee to pay - on top of that they expect a tip too cuz they sing a little in the cave, but like your squished in a tiny row boat (yes, I know you gotta make a living, but seriously a scam).

They showed us our tent spot and we saw all the places are pressed together. Maybe it is a better place for bungalows than it is for tents or it is ok if you don't mind having no privacy whatsoever. The people are kind and the service is nice.

Our only concern was the management at Villagio Nettuno. Responses were relatively prompt at first,…read morebut the communication ultimately could have been better. We were offered the option to have a taxi pick us up from the Naples train station: "Transfer pick up service from and to airports (Naples and Rome). Possibilities of Taxi with special prices! Possibilities of guides for all the locality of the area." We decided to look into this option, and we were told that someone would be able to pick us up. We were stranded at the Naples train station for 2 hours while we tried to communicate with management to confirm that someone is picking us up. We did not receive a clear answer, and we were told that management could not get a hold of the driver that they sent for us. We were repeatedly told to call back in 10 minutes as they tried to resolve the issue. We were not provided with any guidance on finding possible alternative transportation. Ultimately, we consulted the tourist information desk at the station and purchased train tickets on the infamous Circumvesuviana to Sorrento, which is still a while away from Nerano. We let the management know that we were ok with having someone else pick us up in Sorrento. However, we received no messages in Sorrento, so we resorted to taking an overpriced taxi to Nerano. We were left to figure this all out on our own, and we politely let the manager know when we arrived. He let us know that the driver's car broke down, which we understand can happen. This does not explain the fact that he did not help us find alternative transportation options and kept us waiting for 2 hours in Naples. What stunned us was that instead of apologizing and trying to accommodate us after an arduous 7 hour journey from Rome, we were met with a manager who raised his voice on us and tried to turn the situation around on us. He said "what do you expect? You're only paying for a bungalow!" The taxi service was a separate fee, and we were willing to pay for it, so we're not sure why the manager did not put forth any effort to resolve the situation. As a host, I did not appreciate him talking down to my guests, and let him know that in the tourism industry, that is not how a manager treats his customers. After working in the service industry myself, I was stunned that someone can feel so confident as to berate their own customers. Michele, the manager then continued to berate us and rated us online as uneducated customers who had trouble finding a taxi. He also stated that we complained about everything, when the only real issue was the fact that he didn't follow through on his word and left us stranded for a couple of hours at a train station. We never even mentioned the spotty wi-fi to staff. We would have had no trouble arranging alternative transportation if he didn't promise us that he can arrange for someone to pick us up from the Naples train station. Nerano is an absolutely stunning place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. We thoroughly enjoyed the majority of our stay here. Villagio Nettuno had very nice bungalows. The wi-fi is spotty here however, and will not work at the bungalows. You have to go to the lobby to get somewhat reliable wi-fi. Nerano is not as crowded and touristy as Amalfi or Positano, so you can truly relax here. The beach is fantastic with many wonderful family owned restaurants such as Mary's Beach Nerano. You also have the options to go on a private boat tour to visit Amalfi, Positano, or Capri, but this private boat tour is not offered through Villagio Nettuno. You must request information by the beach about a boat tour/ kayaking. All in all, the staff was very friendly, except for the management. This location is stunning, but look elsewhere for transportation options. The tourism industry is very competitive, and many hosts will do their best to earn your business and provide you with a pleasant stay. Keep this in mind as there are plenty of living quarters along the Amalfi coast.
