I'd recommend water shoes as the rocks are slick. You can swim around or lounge on rocks. There were probably about a dozen people while we were there in April. There's lots of nearby walking paths full of wildflowers and some ruins. I could have packed a lunch and spent all day here and in the surrounding hiking spots. We had looked at the menu and decided that we would have a few drinks and nothing else. The server was upset, he told us we each had to order one meal. And accused us of trying to get free bread and olive oil. He said if I would have known you were only getting drinks I would have told you we are closed! He insisted we must order meals or his manager would be upset. I asked to speak to the manager, as we where not going to eat anything else on the menu. The server kept insisting we order, that we where being rude by not ordering food. I apologized and said we were not hungry and that we would be happy to pay for the bread and olive oil. We told him we where not trying to get anything free, and happy to pay for anything we ate and drank. The manager was never called to our table and we were given the check after much argument from the server. It was the worst experience I have had in a restaurant while traveling abroad. The ferries and large boats go to Marina Piccola. Marina Grande is where we met our captain for our boat tour to the Amalfi Coast and where a lot of other groups were launching from. The marina itself was easier to get to that I thought. The decline was gentle on our knees. The incline, heading back to our Airbnb, is actually quite kinder than I thought while I was going down and it wasn't too hard for someone like me, who isn't fit at all, to make it. Add, being in the sun, on a boat all day and I'd say it was almost easy, so no worries if you have any. There are stunning views from this marina and quite a few restaurants and bars to hang out at. The best part for me was the metal dock that you can walk out onto and see Marina Piccola. You can also look down into the crystal clear water. Just lovely!

GORGEOUS & BEAUTIFUL - Totally worth the short hike to the bay…read more We stayed in Praiano so we took a bus to Sorrento and then another bus to Nerano. Was prob. about a two hour trip each way. Once you get off the bus stop in Nerano (stop should be in front of Olga's Residence), look for the signs that point to Baia di Ieranto. Its a slight uphill hike of about 45 minutes or so. There's a sign about mid way through your hike that says for the bay turn right..for something else (sorry i forget), turn left. Turn left. This will take you to the bay and it is less steep. We went in October 2016 and apparently there was a fire which closed the route there. When we asked around locals didn't seem to think it was a big deal. There was some fire damage but if you're careful, the hike is very do-able. It was a bit raining when we went so the bay was basically empty. Loved it!!!!!

After exploring the villa, there are signs leading down to a suspended walkway that leads around a cliff, and as you round the corner, suddenly there's a beautiful open air cafe and beach deck. When I found it, they were playing jazz, and the effect was really special (it helped that Google had it tagged as a generic POI not a restaurant, so I didn't know what to expect). The food is pretty good, so is the coffee - but the location is so unique, and so beautiful, it's a must-visit on any trip to the area.

Everything took forever...including the bill we wanted to pay and get out of there! We started with the assorted app selection and only 1 out of 3 of them was pretty good (almond tuna). I ordered the mixed grill fish and there was absolutely NO taste...had to add salt and lemon and still nothing. Was also served lukewarm. My daughter got the sea bass and it was pretty tasteless too. And the lemon slice she asked for never got delivered. It was almost like they were trying to ignore us. When the waiter FINALLY came to clear the table he could see I hardly ate anything (of a very pricey dish) and didn't ask or say anything. We had to get his attention and wave him down several times for the bill. Such an awful experience and so disappointing...especially after we had two amazing meals in Sorrento that week (highly recommend Delfino's and Donna Sofia). And this was the most expensive meal of the trip so far- which we just paid and left. Other restaurants may offer another meal or comp the meal but nothing was offered and we didn't ask.
