I was able to sell my old car to this father/son duo. They were very personable and made the process quick and easy. They came out with their own equipment to start and evaluate the car. I'm very pleased with outcome; wish I had heard about them a long time ago given they've been in business for over 40 years. I don't anticipate needing to sell any more cars for awhile, but I recommend them to anyone who needs to sell a car would like a smooth transaction. read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. I called in advance to sell my 2005 Ford Crown Victoria. I asked if $1800 sounded good and they said they would buy it right away, in cash. When I arrived, the owner had seen my car from far away and didn't even want to take a look at my car. He said he couldn't make $1800, only $1200. He asked if my car was good inside, I said it was perfect. Then he changed his mind and said the maximum was $400. I asked him why he changed his mind and he said "he didn't like this type of cars". I asked him if he wanted to see the car, but he said if I didn't want to sell it for $400, he wouldn't. I left very, very disappointed. read more

I have never written a review before, but I feel compelled to say something here. The owner spoke with me on the phone at 11 am extolling the virtues of the Mercedes he had on the lot. He told me that I "had to see it to believe it". I showed up an hour later and the car was in pieces. The owner was no where to be fournd, but the salesman said that the car was already sold. But, he told me, he had the deal of a lifetime: the daily special car. The daily special car had to be purchased that day!! Stay away. read more

I'll start by saying, I wasn't really fond of car dealers after my experience last week with another local car lot! The guy at Marina Auto Upholstery (Dan) was cool, laid back and with no pressure got me financed (in house, with no credit check which is good since I've had a repo)!! I got a super cool 2002 Chevy Silverado 4x4! So far I couldn't be happier!! The truck is awesome and I used it to go to Burning Man the day after I bought it! Ask for Dan, he's great! I would recommend this lot because they financed me when nobody else could!! Thanks, Guys! read more

I have bought two cars from Mike and Dan. Both cars were very reliable and a fair price. They financed me with reasonable payments and were true to their word on the condition of both cars. I would recommend anyone to buy a vehicle from this family run used car lot. Sinscerly, Chadwick Wells read more

The Guy quoted me $250 of a headliner replacement over the phone if i came in same day. Then when I got there he jacked up the price over $200 extra. Could have easily said that he's unsure over the phone or looked at the kind of car online rather than having me leave work for him to the jack up the price and not want to do the job. You'd be better off buying something off the street! This place was so eager to take my down payment and send me out the door, just like your regular run-of-the-mill crooks. The only reason why I give them one star is because the younger gentleman is super nice, but that other old fart that wears the cowboy hat is the f'n worst! I asked several times if there was anything wrong with the car, and naturally all I heard was "no"...so there's no big surprise that 2 months after i got the car the engine went out and there were other problems with the power steering. Not only that, on my second scheduled payment the old buzzard processed my card twice like the money hungry crook that he is and caused a huge fiasco with other things. Seconds ago the old man called me for a payment, not that I have a problem with that, but he was cursing and talking over me before he could listen to anything I said. I admit that since he treated me like crap, I did the same to them (for obvious reasons), but there is no reason for the behavior that this old prune displayed. If you're looking for a car, please drive right past this place. It sucks and so does the service....not only that, this idiot registered the car under the wrong name. Stupid!! read more

After reading the reviews sitting down with Mike I thought "I'm not sure why this place got so many negative reviews, he's a stand up guy". I even told them this when I came back the next day to "pick up my car". Never happened! While sitting down with Dan, mike caught amnesia and forgot everything we talked about the day prior. He tried giving me a 29% interest on a car that he never even expected and we agreed on a note of $330/month but we I came he pretended he had no idea of what I was talking about and tried charging me $478/month. On top of this all of this, he knew I had a buyer for a vehicle I was selling and wanted me to bring all the money earned from that vehicle to him! I'm like dude that wasn't in the deal and that's my earnings.. Once i decided this was all becoming a hassle he goes, "see, I was just about to approve you".. I remember seeing a review that said, "if you see this place, keep driving".. I totally agree.. Very unprofessional ! I have no idea how they're still in business .. I only went there because the guy whose car I wanted to buy sold in to Mike! read more

First off Im not a fan of car dealers, they are pushy and greedy, not at all the experience I had with this place. Bought a bitchin 1966 Rambler from Mike and Dan a few weeks back. It could not have been a better experience. Mike came down on his day off to show me the car. Has a small leak and Mike fixed it in a timely manner. Came back and Dan did the paperwork for me. All in all, pretty darn good experience. These guys are as honest as it gets. read more

Really nice and accommodating family run business! What's not to love? I will definitely be coming through the next time I need upholstery done read more

The cover on the console of my Honda Accord fell apart from the LA sun. I had called around for quotes and happened to stop by here last week when I saw that they also do auto upholstery. Mike was super friendly and quoted me a price that was around a third of what others had quoted. He and the gentleman who actually did the work, were both a pleasure to deal with. The job was done in a few hours and looks great! They matched the color perfectly and the stitching is totally professional and clean. Mike even went to the trouble of finding some paint that matched my car to touch up a scratch on my bumper that I was complaining about! Thank you Marina Auto Upholstery!! read more

Great guys! Fast service! Really nice and easy to work with. Trustworthy I would definitely go back

Yelp, you are doing the public a disservice by "filtering" out all the negative reviews of this place. These people are shysters. I took my car to Marina Auto to get the upholstery fixed. I had barely gotten the "repaired" car home when their work fell apart. And I mean that literally. The whole side of the door just fell off. When I took my car back and confronted the owner, he refused to do anything to fix the problem. He became not only rude, but abusive and threatening. He pushed me and told me to get off the lot. Never did get my money back. I should have sued him and had him arrested for assault. Folks, if you're considering going to this joint, do yourselves a favor and also read the "filtered" reviews first. It's the worst of the worst. read more

I took my 1999 Ford Crown Victoria to MIKE just before Christmas and he offered me $1500... I explained to him I needed to find a replacement car first. When I came back he lowered is offer to $800 and told me he never remembered speaking to me about my car. But his partner remembers me well!!! Marina is LOADED with shysters I would definitely stay away!!! read more

I bought my car from this place. Thought the owner Mike was a real character. He looked like he came straight out of the movies--very old school with some very funny stories. They had an eclectic selection of vehicles ranging from late sixties on up to late model cars, ranging in price from a couple of thousand on up to $10,000. I did not have a lot of money to spend so I ended up with a 1995 Ford Explorer. for $2495.00 plus DMV fees. They took care of all the paperwork and I was in and out in no time flat. After spending time talking with Mike, I ended really enjoying my experience. Its been a couple of weeks and I just received my new plates and registration. So far the car drives well with no problems. read more

I know the reputation that used car dealerships have the burden of bearing, but Marina has got to be one of the worst places to buy a car period. First and foremost, I am a customer and I've bought a used vehicle from these guys... They're service and demeanor are fine while trying to sell you a car, but once you buy...they don't give a shit about you anymore. They told me my car would need no mechanical work, and was a fine daily driver. No problems at all. Come to find out that the xhaust and muffler had holes and damages throughout. My friend actually got sick from the carbon monoxide that is exposed from such damage to the exhaust due to fumes coming in the car from the holes and damges on the exhaust. When I called them of this matter, they were rude and repeatedly kept telling me, "Well, it's an old car". WTF??? The owner, Mike, has the WORST customer service I've ever dealt with. He's cursed at me, and hung up on me telling me to stop bother him and to stop calling. He's done this twice. I swear on my life that this is true. Again, WTF??? I am actually in pursuit of taking legal action against Marina. Mainly because the exhaust problem is actually a BIG HEALTH ISSUE. turns out that that the carbon monoxide me and my passangers have enhaled could be fatal if exposed to it enough. I obviously haven't died, since I'm writing this but this is not a small thing. To take it further, I get cursed at and hung up on when I bring this up to the owner (Mike). Tony is a salesman there. Nice guy I suppose, but what salesperson isn't a nice one? That's like giving ice cream credit for being cold. Anywho, Mike doesn't seem to know much about cars. I've asked him numerous times about matters regarding the engine and he has never been able to give me any answers. Nothing but run-arounds and "Oh, it's fine". The 1 month warranty they give is as worthless as their customer service. HORRIBLE PLACE. I don't care how long they've been in business. The age of a business doesn't make it a good one. Like I said, this place is so bad that I am taking legal action against them. That's as worst as it gets. Stay away from this place! read more

I went to Marina Auto upholstery for the repair of a large tear on the drivers cushion on my 2012 Mercedes Benz convertible, caused by five years of top down driving Their price was the best (one forth of what the dealer would charge) and the work done timely just as promised. Best of all, their repaired section matched the rest of the seat so perfectly, in texture, stitching and color, that it is impossible to tell that anything had ever been torn. They even had checked fluid levels as a courtesy and left me a voicemail telling me my oil was short a quart. I totally recommend them for superb auto upholstery work . read more

i bought the coolest truck i've owned from this place for $2000 below blue book price, not to mention the truck had 2 tvs. 2 dvd players, 2 amps and a sub woofer box installed as an added bonus. it's a small lot with luxury vehicles priced to sell fast! i highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good vehicle! read more

These people are just awful, awful, awful and do horrible work. I had to trek down there five times and my car still wasn't fixed! I hardly got out of the lot before their "repair" literally just fell apart. They'd already taken my money, but when I took it back, they tried to charge me FIVE times as much -- to fix the work they'd already supposedly done. Then they got nasty, verbally abusive and physically threatening. Like the person in one of the other reviews, this is the first time in my life that I have taken the time to write an on-line review. That's how bad it was. Be forewarned, folks, don't take your business here!!! read more
