The worst pediatric office that ever was. Sadly, we were transferred to this office when my children's pediatrician had to retire early for health reasons. I wish i had jumped ship from the get go, but I was lazy and kept going back for years of punishment. Staff is rude and incompetent. They treat parents like the enemy. They also charge extra for everything - flu shot visits, camp forms, immunization records, you name it. And they are not nice at all. I'm very confused why they would choose to work in a pediatrician's office when they don't like people. There is one nice nurse, but that's it. Dr. Ornstein is a horrible pediatrician and an arrogant know it all. Because she is a doctor and a mom herself, she will tell you she knows more than you. She told me on more than one occasion how good of a doctor she is - who does that? She is not a good listener and she is driven by her own personal agenda rather than the child's needs. Every time I went into that office, she overtly checked me out up and down multiple times. This is probably why she isn't listening - she is too distracted by her own insecurities. The amount of confrontational interactions I had with her over the years are too many to count! She refused to give my child a COVID test back when over the counter tests were not yet available. Anytime I made an appointment (other than a well visit), she acted defensive from the get go. She also reneged on taking over a medication prescription from another MD because she "didn't like the way I demanded an appointment with her." Literally, her words. This is because I called on a Monday and politely asked if we could do the appointment after school hours (because I have a high schooler who should not miss school and was already having struggles about going to school) so they gave me an appointment on that Thursday afternoon that I ended up having to pull my child out of school for = compromise? Again, they treat parents like the enemy. Even my children dislike her! Don't take your kids here. Listen to these horrible reviews. They are all true. It's hard enough being a parent and you don't need a bunch of a-holes in your children's doctor's office to make your life harder. I would give them 0 stars if Yelp allowed it. My 10 year old's doctor retired at the end of 2016 and MPA took over his medical records. Beginning of 2017 my son and I both joined Kaiser. I requested release of medical records from 6 different doctors for myself and my son. MPA were the only ones who charged for the release of records ($35). Not only that, after they billed my card, they called and left a message asking me to pick up the records since they claimed the records tend to get lost at Kaiser. I went to pick up the records and was handed 12 sheets! I paid almost $3 to MPA for their bad photocopying services. Maybe their docs are good - I don't know. However the front-office is scum, and is only interested in making a quick buck at the expense of children and their medical records. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

This doctor's office is horrible; the staff are uneducated useless people. The doctors are heartless, money hungry scammers who only care able filling their wallets then the well being of children. After many months of back and forth with billing fraud, the doctors office tried to justify there billing saying that the excessive predatory billing was justified because my wife asked a medical question. This is ridicules!!! When you take a child to see the doctor for a well check you should be able to ask questions... At the end I paid the bill, and will contact my insurance company to move the insurance fraud processes along, what this office is doing is illegal, and fraudulent and someone needs to do something to prevent this behavior in the future. I can't believe this office in this day and age doctors and staff member can act like this and steal from hard working people. My opinion, take your business someplace else, your time fighting with doctor and staff is not worth it, I will let the law and insurance fraud department step in and prosecute. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr Meill and the other docs and staff at Marin Pediatric, they are nothing short of great. We have been patients for five years and I have referred several friends who had babies and small kids to them, they are stellar. The staff is always friendly and able to accommodate same day appointments when we need them (very appreciated) Granted my youngest cries every time he sees Kari, Dr Meill's nurse but that is because he remembers the shots not the smiles. And he is getting better! I have called and asked for endless forms to be filled out or faxed and they are always immediately done, the docs will call you to follow up on things and are all just so nice. We are patients of Dr. Nancy Schwartzman. We were recommended to her by my brother in law. Dr Schwartzman is amazing. She is knowledgeable, professional, and extremely confident. She has a wonderful manner of dealing with us and our often stupid questions. She never makes us feel bad for asking silly questions yet she doesn't just say what we want to hear. She is patient and understanding but is not afraid to talk and reason with us in a very straight forward manner. We absolutely appreciate that. She also is very well researched and keeps up on latest trends and studies being done in the pediatric field. What I appreciate is that she is not easily swayed by the latest fads in childcare. She keeps up on the latest studies and often finds very strong facts to support her suggestions. Of course she is willing to let us choose our child's treatment but she reasons with us and makes sure we have all the facts before deciding. This was important to us as many doctors in the County have gone along with the "no vaccinations" policy. It was nice to be able to talk with someone who has done extensive research in to this matter and has a very logical approach. We have used Dr. Schwartzman for both of our children. She was at the hospital after delivery and has always made us feel very well cared for. We would highly recommend her to family and friends. read more

Each time I call Marin Pediatric Associates, I am impressed anew with the polite, friendly, and helpful responses from the front desk staff. Need an appointment? Information? Documents? Funny last name? No problem! I just called for an immunization verification form (now required for the DTAP immunization for 7th-12th graders). MPA offered to FAX or mail this to me immediately, or I could pick it up anytime today. This is typical in my experience. Dr. Meier has seen my kids for about 5 years. She is approachable, sensible, and smart. My teenaged son feels totally comfortable with her, which speaks to her manner with kids. When I've called for a refill, she personally calls me later to make sure nothing has changed and to see if I have any questions. She's treated my kids for asthma, strep, and even (once) pneumonia. We love Dr. Meill and her team and are going to miss them immensely. We recently moved out of state and I accidentally packed the kids records. Not only did they fax them to us right away but Kerry called to make sure we received them and if we needed any additional help. She wished us all the best and asked that we come to visit them when ever we were back in CA. I know this may seem like a normal request/service but in this day and age when you find people who provide great customer service you want to continue using them again and again. I only hope we're able to find the same The team at Marin Pediatrics showed us nothing but love and support. The whole practice from the front desk scheduler to the doctors was one of the best experiences out here in Marin for pediatrics. Highly recommend. We recently left mt. This practice took over after our Dr. retired. They cannot fill a script properly to save their life. Many calls, many screw ups (wrong medication, wrong pharmacy town) and this is after having the info read back on multiple occasions. Office takes no responsibility and says they "entered it correctly". Add that our new Dr. is part time equals total frustration in getting timely service. There are better options out there....seek them! read more

Some moron of a pediatrician diagnosed me with a concussion, went on to figure out that I never had one in the first place. The people here are highly unqualified and idiotic, can't believe people like this are being allowed to work as pediatricians. Just a waste of time, and all for a false diagnosis. read more

Dr. Meill is wonderful . She always takes the time to answer questions and we never feel rushed. When she is out of the office we have alway been very happy with seeing the other doctors in the practice. The staff are always warm and friendly. BTW - the negative reviewer referred to a Dr. Weinstein, but there is no one by that name in the practice!! read more

When we moved here from Florida, I was very wary we could find great pediatricians like the ones back home. Dr Schwartzman is awesome! I chose her as our youngest is an athlete and has the occasional sports injuries. Nancy is a perfect fit. We have two girls, 13 and 15. Both love her. If you have a teen or child that may have anxiety or depression, Dr Schwartzman gets them to open up. She is incredible read more

LOVE Dr. Meill! She is great with our 4 month old daughter Emma. We've been a fan since Emma was born. She not only spends quality time with us when we come in, but she is obviously VERY in tune with babies and also tells us what to expect developmentally at each appointment. Beware-shady businesss practice. After my pediatrician retired we requested that our sons' medical records be sent to their new doctor. Long story short they were never sent. Fast forward to today. Requested the records but were told that there would be a $35 "processing fee" for each child. I explained that my sons have never even visited this office and that I would come in to pick up the records. I was given several different reasons for the fee. Copying-which I did not need them to do and is not required by law, retrieval fee when they had them readily available. I finally agreed to pay $70 to an office in which my children never even visited. They did not need to send the records or copy them so I am still not sure what the fee was for. If this is the way that this office wants to make money, then I wonder what other unethical practices they are using. read more

Dr. Meill has a pleasant manner, though impersonal and often rushed. The rest of the doctors are supercilious and rude, and the front office staff (who you deal with 90% of the time) are incompetent. It is hard to get through on the phone to make an appointment. I once spent twenty minutes on the phone to make an appointment and when I came in, having taken a morning off from work, they had no record of it. Nearly every time I came in the receptionist would loudly accuse me of being past due on payments that had never or only just been invoiced, and ask me to pay up front before my baby was seen. When my baby was sick and I came in for an urgent appointment I was asked THREE TIMES to pay $3 they said was due - including by Dr. Weinstein before she would examine my child. I later found out the $3 had been paid days before. When I called for urgent medical advice when my baby fell, the receptionists twice told me no one was available to take my call. When I found a new pediatrician, they charged me $25 to transfer my baby's medical records from the office. Bad place. Stay away. read more

My husband and I just had a prenatal meet and greet and it was a mixed bag. When we walked in the office was a complete mess. Toys and magazines were literally every where and the toys looked old and dirty. I walked up to the receptionist and she was laughing and talking with the other ladies in the office and didn't even acknowledge our presence. When I said hello to her she just looked disappointed that she had to stop talking and address me. Instead of saying welcome to the practice the first thing out of her mouth was there is a $35 fee to meet the doctor. When I made the appointment a fee was never mentioned at all! None of the other pediatrician offices charge and I was completely annoyed about this but I paid it since both my husband and I took off work to be there. We met Dr.Martin and he was great and we really liked him but I just could not get over how bad our first experience was with the front end of the office. Also the room we were in while talking to the doctor was very dated and the wallpaper was ripped of the wall just hanging there. I would think they would want to fix that. Avoid Dr. Nancy Schwartzman. This woman is an egomaniac who takes pleasure in shaming new moms. She's anti-attachment parenting and very judgmental. I have very moderate parenting beliefs and would by no means be considered radical. I was horrified by the way this woman spoke to me and my husband ( who is a physician himself). I left the practice for Prima pediatrics where I am always treated respectfully and included in the decision making process of my children. read more

My sons are 13 and 11 and we've been going here since they were 2 and born (respectively). I highly recommend them. They have taken the time and care to get to know us and have provided exceptional care to our boys... even if their wallpaper may need some repair (I've never noticed that by the way). read more

My children have been patients at MPA for 9 years. We have ALWAYS had a great experience. The nurses & staff are friendly and helpful. Scheduling appointments is never a problem. Our main Dr. is Dr. Orenstein - I can't say enough about how attentive she is. She's even called to follow up and check in a few days after one of our visits. Our Pediatrician retired and transferred their patients to Marin pediatrics. The new Dr that my children met during the transfer quit recently. When I tried to book yearly exams with new Drs in the practice I was asked "Are you going to want them seen soon?" And then told they would have to call me back. I never got a return call. We started searching for new Pediatricians and found a practice we like. I signed a records release and after 3 weeks got a phone call from Marin Pediatrics saying that they charge $35 per child to transfer records because that's the fee for keeping an electronic copy at their office in case the record ever got lost. I said we didn't need that service as the new Dr would be holding the records. She replied that they are a small office, who didn't expect our Pediatrician to quit and that is just their policy. Then she asked what I wanted to do, schedule a new visit with one of their Drs or just get the free vaccination record. Since there is no choice I had to pay $35/child just to escape an office that I was unable to make a well child visit at and our Pediatrician had left. To top it off it's going to take an additional 1-2 weeks to transfer the files totaling 4-5 weeks just to get records transferred. read more

My family has been seeing Dr. Schwartzman for 9 years and has never once had any bad experience, with the doctor, her colleagues, or the front office. On the contrary, I have never found the office hard to reach, the front office staff are always welcoming and cheerful, the medical assistants/nurses could not be more upbeat and professional, and Dr. Schwartzman is an extremely knowledgeable, professional, warm, and OUTSTANDING DOCTOR to our two kids. We have developed a strong relationship with her and the whole office over the years. Back in 2009 I posted a glowing review on Yelp for Marin Pediatrics and it was censored.I was never given a reason as to why, and could not get it re-posted, so I hope this review does not get pulled. I found it interesting that my positive review was pulled, when I see other reviews that make absolutely no sense staying up for many years. read more

I have given this practice a few chances. They are most certainly focused on the bottom line - check what they charge your insurance company for flu shots - and it is not the standard charge for Marin - I was disgusted! Also, $40 per child to release their medical records that were automatically transferred over when our last doctor retired? And I have to wait 1-2 weeks for them.... I found the two doctors we saw to be condescending and flippant. The only way I can think they have better reviews is if this is the only pediatric office the reviewer has ever been to or if the reviewer is a new parent that doesn't know better. Please find a different office that will respect your child, your time and intelligence and is not out to ring every last cent out of every avenue of income. read more

My family recently moved to the area from Seattle. I have a two year old son and needed to get established with a new ped. When I called to schedule an appt, I was discouraged as I could not get a hold of anyone in the office. I had to call several times throughout the day before someone picked up. When I did reach a receptionist, she was very unprofessional. Naturally, as a new comer I had questions. She seemed irritated that I would bother her with asking common questions that us mothers need to inquire about before entrusting our child's care to someone. Needless to say, I was very put off by the conversation and opted out of scheduling an appt. Not a good first impression. I will look elsewhere. read more

I love Marin pediatric associates. We see Dr Kara Ornstein. Who has cared for my three girls for 14 years she has been at the births of 2 of them. She cares for them like they are family. I am truly grateful for her attentive care. It is wonderful to have a smart doctor who you trust to relieve the worry of a busy mom. If she is unavailable ALL the other doctors are wonderful as well. I am also mystified by the review by Liz W. (it looks like Susannah from Sausalito never had an appointment and is just basing her review on one phone call). I have two children in the care of Dr. Schwartzman, going back over 5 years. Dr. Schwartzman is EXCELLENT - she takes time, is kind and caring, never ever makes you feel rushed, and remembers details of my children's health records without having to refer to notes. I agree with the reviewer that said that the front office and nursing staff are the nicest you could hope for. In my 5 years I have never been accosted for having an overdue payment (and I have had some), no one has ever been rude, and I have never had trouble reaching them by phone to make an appointment or otherwise. I have also seen most of the other doctors in the group and have high praise for them as well. The two negative reviewers are off their rockers. read more

We have been patients of Marin Pediatric Associates, and in particular Dr. Nancy Schwartzman, since 2006. My kids are 4 and 5 and I have recommended Dr Schwartzman to friends forever. The care she delivers is simply excellent. But something happened recently that requires more than the usual "thank yous - My 5 year old fell off of a play structure and hurt his arm. There was no obvious fracture, so we iced it and gave him some ibuprofen. When we woke up the next day, we decided to go to Marin IPA urgent care (it was a Saturday). They thought it was probably a really bad sprain, but because it was in the elbow and 5 year old bones are apparently difficult to diagnose, they sent us to Marin General. After a nearly 4 hour ER visit, involving xrays and lots of waiting, the MG staff sent us home with a sling and a recommendation that he wear the sling as long as he was complaining of pain. They did not see any fracture, so diagnosis was a severe sprain. Enter Dr Schwartzman. She received the chart from MG on Monday Morning, which is her typical pattern and practice (to review any urgent care or ER visits from her patients). She called my home number, then my work number, then my cell number in an effort to reach me immediately. I happened to be boarding a flight - we were actually taxiing and I was being harangued by flight attendants screeching at me to hang up. So Dr S called my husband and filled him in. She diagnosed a fracture near the elbow and told my husband to get my son to UCSF ER immediately. Because of the nature of the fracture, it was very unstable and required immediate isolation. The UCSF ER staff confirmed DR S's diagnosis and put the arm in an air cast until we could get in to see a specialist. This was necessary because of the potential involvement of growth plates and the potential need for surgical intervention. Thankfully we saw the specialist last week, and he put a plaster cast on. No surgery is necessary, but that is only because of Dr Schwartzmans incredible response and her prompt diagnosis (which 2 other physicians missed). Without her, my very active 5 year old boy would have been running around with an undiagnosed, unprotected fracture in his elbow. We are ever so grateful and can't even begin to tell you how highly we recommend Marin Pediatric Associates, and Dr. Schwartzman in particular - though when we have needed to see other doctors in the group, they are all wonderful. And the nursing staff are tremendous. A+ all around. read more

I like this practice. Dr. Nancy Schwartzman is friendly, well-informed, and a good listener. My kids like her and have no problem being examined by her, and all of the nurses have a great manner and good techniques with the little ones. The reception staff has always been courteous and helpful. And we've always been able to get in to see the doctor when we need to, no problem. read more
