She clearly didn't want to deal with me since this is the second time I have called. However I know for a fact and have the messages from my Hematologist office that they have and already did send over the paperwork with every thing she said she HAS to have to even talk to me on the phone. She has a nasty attitude and on a power trip clearly. It must be really nice to not know what medical problems a person is going thru but go out of your way to be a rude and nasty individual. I can't imagine treating people whom I don't know this way. Every person referred to a specialist such as a Rheumatologist is referred there for a reason and usually they don't get the referral after just an appointment or two or even three. It's a long process so excuse me for actually CALLING myself instead of waiting three weeks for you to then call me and try to set up an appointment instead of waiting just so you can waste my time and the. Tell me you don't have anything for another six months. Take a look in the mirror lady and humble yourself. You have no idea what some people may be going thru calling the office you work in.

I had a referral to this office for a positive ANA test...my previous referral was denied by another office as they didn't take my insurance. This office accepted mine and i had to wait a couple months. Once I checked in they took my insurance card and told me i was good to go. I should not have had to pay a penny! My appointment was almost over when they informed me they did not take my insurance! I was so upset i had waited forever for this appointment and my referral department told me i was good. Not only did I have to pay but I never even got a follow up phone call from my blood work! I had to send it to my ex who is a doctor to read my results! This was the worst experience I have ever had in a doctors office! I also emailed them twice with no response but of course they are trying to collect their $150!! Such a disappointing experience especially when going through such a stressful time!!!

However, if you don't have them ready when he shows up, he will move on to the next patient. I've rated him poorly because of his receptionist. He's got 2. One is nice, the other frankly isn't. I recently called, trying to leave a message for his nurse, Anjie. The receptionist refused to transfer me. She became very intrusive demanding to know every reason for the call. At one point interrupting me to have me call someone else. When I had to fully debase myself and explain things that she had no business knowing, she finally agreed to take a message. On hearing back from the Doctor's nurse, I was angry. I expressed that anger both to her and using their RelayHealth message system. The only things that could be construded as foul langage was when I lost my temper and said that the recptionist had no business asking the things she did. I questioned if she was a health care provider, or if she had been trained to know what messages were valid versus which ones where not, since she's so skilled to answer the bloody phone. Rather than addressing it, trying to encourage just a bit more empathy on the part of the person who is answering his phone, I received a letter saying that I should find another doctor, because of the "tenor of those statements." So, be warned. If you go to Dr. Koenig, you can expect fairly good care, but you dare not complain, even about legitimate issues, in his office staff or you'll need another doctor.

After leaving is office I literally hobbled very unsteady on my feet, out to my car and sat there and cried and cried. This man told me nothing. I waited forever to see him and he told me nothing. I can barely walk. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus. He told me that my primary care doctor did not know what he was doing and told me to stop taking my medicine for both diseases any longer because I had neither disease? Without Chilappa taking any bloodwork or testing he told me the what my doctor did was wrong and for me to no longer take my medicine for either? Without any testing or bloodwork on his part? I had a Rheumatology Arthritis read of 162 and Chilappa tells me it was wrong? He then tells me to go have my knee replacement and why have I not done so as yet? He put all my pain back on me for not having a knee replacement???? He blamed my doctor for everything and all this by just reading a prior 2 month old bloodwork he tells me there is nothing there that is wrong and the test my doctor did was like "snake" medicine (my words not his) and I was offered very little time to say anything. My back hurt so bad I could not stand straight and needed help walking and he tells me there was nothing wrong other than my knees? Then he tells me to stop taking my Lupus meds and Rheumatology meds without him doing anything or running any testing himself? I am in horrible excruciating pain and spent almost 3 hours one way getting there to see this doctor and it was a total waste of my time. My primary care doctor has been a doctor over 35 years and that is double the time Chilappa has been and he tells me that the testing my doctor did was wrong but Chilappa did not bother to do any blood testing of his own to see if the diagnosis was wrong but just read from a two month old blood work? In that he pulls me off my meds for Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis? I see this was to be a critical medical error on his part and could be causing me a major medical problem. He is uncompassionate and medically incompetent in his diagnosis of myself and probably the same of other people he might see. My heart hurts over the way he treated me because I am in such bad shape. When I went in I had such faith since he was a professional but right now my heart just hurts over the way he treated me. When I think about the way the way he treated me I still cry. I hurt so bad in every joint of my body. I cannot walk. I cannot sit. I cannot stand. He was only obsessed with my hands seemingly thinking that rheumatoid arthritis only shows up in the hands. It cannot show up anywhere else other than the hands is his thinking?? After 4 days later I am still crying over the way he treated me and being so uncaring about my pain. Unfortunately I could never recommend this doctor and it makes me sad to say such a thing about a so called professional. I can only hope that people will read this before they go to see him because it will be a mistake. This man needs to care and listen to the patient and not just make a decision based on two month old bloodwork from another doctor and maybe do his own work before making a decision. Last of all seeing any patient hurting as I was and as he could see and letting that patient leave his office without doing anything is cruel in the worst medically way possible. I have never known any doctor to watch a patient in agony as I was and just watch them leave his office without doing anything is medically cruel in the worst way possible. Right now as I type this I am hurting so bad I can barely type this and it pains me to say this about any medical professional such as him. Absolutely no doctor anywhere in any capacity should allow a patient in such great pain to just try to walk out of his office yet say and do nothing. With great hurt and agony I have to say this and let any other patient who is thinking of seeing this man PLEASE go elsewhere. I might add that I was a medical professional. Having worked for an oncologist for 6 years I am savvy to the ways of a medical professional. During my time in working in the medical field my we would have never allowed a patient to walk out of our office in great duress and pain. So I say all the above having worked in the medical profession and the way Chilappa treated me was of absolute medical incompetence. We would have called the primary care doctor and not allowed the patient to leave our office until they were stabilized. I am sad to say the way Chilappa did to me was nothing less than totally and medically incompetent all the way through the visit. His blaming my pain on my knees was not even n the ball park of why I was there to see him. Blaming the patient is never the way to go. PLEASE do not go to this doctor.
