Went to another music store, which shall not be named, and was not greeted very kindly- workers at that music store were very quiet, I wasn't even greeted at the door and had to make my presence noticed and say good morning- to them. The experience here at Harper's Music Store was different however. It's been years since I've been here- last time I was here, I recall getting a synthetic reed for my baritone sax. The owner, Steve, greeted me as I walked through the door and asked me what my needs were. I told him I was looking for a beginner AMP and first showed me some small, cheap options. I then asked him that I wanted something with a little more features to it and then showed me a Marshall MG30FX and a Spider IV Line 6 75 W. I decided to go with the Line 6 as the presets and customizability of the AMP was what persuaded me in buying it. I'm not sure if he works here too but Michael helped me in further solidifying my purchase of the Spider AMP over the Marshall because of the same reasons, so thank you to you too Michael! Purchasing my Fender Starcaster here was a breeze- I traded in a guitar for the Starcaster and that process was very straight forward- just show your ID and Steve'll take a look online to see how much it is priced and give you a fair offer like he did with me. Overall, if you're looking for musical needs, going to Harper's Music Store is a great idea. The customer service let alone is really what knocks this place out of the park. I'll be coming here again if I need anything else.

I came here to purchase my first violin when I was 10 years old, and kept coming back for more as I grew older and needed larger sizes. I also came here every time I broke a string... or needed a new shoulder pad... or that one time I broke my violin and needed it fixed. Pretty much, me and my family kept the violin section of this store in business. Although the prices tend to be a wee-bit higher than I would expect, it's a small price to pay for convenience. I could almost guarantee you can find anything you need here. They have most of the instruments and their respective components. It can be quite intimidating to walk into a music store if you don't know exactly what you're looking for, I know I was. But luckily the staff here is not only knowledgeable but they're helpful and polite as well.

We inherited an old flute for our child that my husband's aunt had used in her high school days…read moremany decades ago. It looked very vintage, to put it nicely, and definitely needed a lot of TLC if it was even still usable. After some research, we found the Windsmith, located in the neighborhood of North Park, with exceptional reviews. We were lucky to have found Franco, who specializes in woodwind instrument repairs, to take a look at the old flute. He said the necessary maintenance was not extensive and gave us a very affordable quote for repairs to get the flute back in shape. In less than a week, we had the flute fixed up and ready to be played. Thank you Franco, and we will be back again for regular maintenance. My other child is interested in playing the trumpet so we hope to bring business to his partner Jim at the Windsmith, who specializes in brass instruments. We are so happy to have found this place.
