If you're looking for a dessert option, this is a great place. Highlights - lots of chocolate treats and fancy desserts. We tried the Oreo Raspberry Cake. It was super moist, decadent, and heavy. Great cake slice, we really enjoyed it. The annoying part was that I ordered bourbon balls and I instead got some sort of vanilla truffle. I'm not a local but I'm pretty sure I didn't get bourbon balls. Didn't taste anything like bourbon at all. I was very disappointed since that is what I initially came in for and we didn't realize the mistake until much further in the day. The cake slice saves the review from being any lower but paying $12 for something I didn't want is annoying and ruins the experience somewhat. That is why quality counts from beginning to end. I still recommend trying this place out but make sure you check what you order so that you get the right thing.

First, only a couple items in the case even had labels or prices, so I literally had to ask what an item was. The store associate seemed to get annoyed at telling me what the items in the case were but how do you expect me to know if you don't label your items? and i only even asked what 3-4 items were out of 15+ in the case. even though she told me what a couple of the items were, I have no idea how much they were. I asked the price on the viral fruit thing and she responded "they range from $10-$20". There were three choices of those and I guess it was too much trouble to say the price of each one I wanted to try one of the viral fruit moose things, but after the way the store associate acted I decided to pass. There were definitely some things that looked really good, but I'm not going to purchase if they're rolling their eyes at me and acting like I'm bothering them asking about the things they are selling. I'll give it another shot in the future. We'll see what happens Summary: 1. Make sure items in the case are labeled with a product name, short description, and price. 2. Train the people who represent your store what customer service is and how to really sell the product when someone's asking about it I didn't even get to try anything yet so this review is 100% based on customer service interaction and store display information. I know there has been dreams with this business in the past about low reviews - so I'm a real person and I've been elite on Yelp for 6 years. It isn't hard to find me if you want to for verification.

The staff is welcoming and is generous with the tastings: four of us tried around ten flavors in all! It was a hot day, so this was our last stop by the market, so it would not melt on the way home. We got some bold Rüya dark 65% chocolate, flavored with Turkish espresso, with a touch of traditional cardamom expressing welcome. The cardamom flavoring is milder in this chocolate than it is in mideast coffee. That works for us. We got two with mild bourbon flavors: the somewhat-sweet Prohibition, and the lightly-orange seasonally-available Old Fashioned (reminiscent of the cocktail). We also got some seasonal slightly-fruity limited-edition Thailand 70% chocolate, one of our favorites. And we grabbed an assortment of lighter and darker sweet creams and truffles. We used to watch the bean-grinder in action here. Last year moved it to a new factory on the Licking River across the river in Lexington KY, a town where they also opened a second retail location in 2024 that includes gelato! The aroma here is lovely and chocolatey and roasty. The chocolate is divine.

I also purchased some truffles to take home, and I purchased enough to get a box but they were out of the small boxes. I told her I was traveling quite a distance and was concerned they would not make it. She said they would be fine and put them in a plastic bag. She could've offered the next size up in box! And indeed they did not make it. Hate I wasted money on these.

They are a tiny store, you can easily miss them, but they do set right off the road with good signage. The lot is small, but adequate. My visit was on a weekday in the Spring and they were not busy. I was greeted warmly and offered a sample of one of their well know bourbon candies with a single pecan on it. Of course I enjoyed and have actually had before. They make the chocolates for many of the distilleries in the area and have for decades. The business itself dates back to 1919. I did not do a tour, but it appears they offer. Ruth's offer a lot of variety and I do mean a lot! They also some of the branded boxes like Makers Mark. The service was top notch as everything was explained. I decided on a non bourbon chocolate so my wife could enjoy too. So I ordered a half pound of three varieties of chocolate (white, dark, milk) with almonds. The chocolate's in the case are put in their own box, as opposed to the gift boxes. I really enjoyed after returning from my trip, wife too! Easy 5 stars and will return at some point.

The store itself is so aesthetically pleasing and very cute! Lovely decor and very picturesque like you could just sit down there for a bit and hang out with some girlfriends. The lady running the store also was very friendly and kind. She explained all the different types of items they have that were the chocolate peanut butter thdnet, with a lot of appealing options. But we ended up just going for the classic buckeye balls. As far as the taste - phenomenal! The chocolate and peanut butter flavor went perfectly well together and they were not too sweet or peanut buttery or anything. Everything was perfectly balanced. Very yummy! It also came with an Ohio shaped chocolate in the package, which was very thoughtful in my opinion.

So here are some examples of what I brought home: Milk Chocolate Turtle Bark Dark Chocolate Turtle Bark Cookies 'n' Cream Bark Milk Chocolate Covered Rice Krispy Treat Red Velvet Truffle Cake Mint-to-be Truffle Maple Bacon Truffle Cake (you will never find a cuter confection in your entire life!) It was actually somewhat embarrassing and shocking to actually write it out. If you're looking g for something specific, and you don't see it, ask for it. If you're looking to do something specific, personalized or creative - call them. They will be more than willing to work with you. Beautifully and creatively decorated, Ruby's is a cool little spot to visit. It is a candy wonderland with a little bit of something for everyone. Whether you're buying a treat for the kids or want to bring something different and really make a splash with a gift, you need to stop in. You won't be disappointed. Would I go back? Yes, but..... In speaking with the owner Sina, we connected that there is another location closer to me in the Liberty Township, OH area. This location was about an hour from me, in rush hour traffic. So I may not frequent this location, I was very happy to hear of the other location in my area. Myself, my dentist and future endocrinologist are all looking forward to my return to another Ruby's Chocolate's location!
